Had dinner at Beirut two nights ago & Don Julio's was closed. Decided to walk over and see what the situation was tonight. Both the cafe around the corner and Don Julio were going strong. Asked one of the can drivers who spoke English if he'd heard anything about them being closed, but didn't seem like he'd heard anything.

Well I can confirm the Sheraton Grand is chica friendly. Also can confirm that for at least the time being Habanos is CLOSED! The reason I was told was for renovations.

I'm supposed to be in Panama City on June 8 for a few days. Did they give any indication if and when Habanos might reopen? Have you found any other freelancer venues in the area?

Great news on the Sheraton Grand. I had a reservation at the El Panama hotel but can't get a confirmation on their guest policy despite a number of emails. I might have to switch to the Sheraton.

I've searched throughout the forum and couldn't find any info on the Sheraton Grand hotel. Is the place chica friendly or am I going to be hassled?

At the Marriott across from Habanos, once the so called security guy tried to get me to pay a 100 buck fee for my friend. I very politely told him to F##K off and kept on walking.

Book for two people. You will not have to pay extra for the first guest. It is a very nice hotel.

Very outdated information but I was at the AC in November 2019 and it was $43.

Make your reservation for more than one person. That worked a couple of times. It was not that hard if the clerk was distracted to just walk into the elevators they are only a few feet from the door. Doesn't work after sundown though they'll be a security guard at the door.

Not that I have noticed, it is not a big item on their list.

I was also advised by my friendly waiter Liborio that the new price for the ladies' drinks is $15 each. $10 for the house and $5 for the lady under that token system. I was told that many customers were horrified by their total bill at the end of the evening when presented for payment so BE AWARE.
