Just back from a Thursday night to Mon. AM junket. Stayed at Hyatt Place (with miles) - No chica fee throughout my stay - 5 bottles of water ran me 5.25 on check out. They photocopy your companion's ID upon entrance but they were discreet and professional (even when I brought 2 friends at once.) Would recommend. Center of the action and easy walk to lots of attractions. Thurs. Went to Veneto on arrival and was there at 1130 or so. Went to dinner at siete mare which I recommend (my fishing guide told me of this place) and since Veneto was on the way I thought I would check it out one more time. Played some black jack for a little while then decided to stroll the floor a little bit whence I came upon a nice pod of Cuban girls. One dark spinner with red colored hair and beautiful light eyes who could not have been more than 21 became my next love interest. Nice GFE. Having renewed spirits and the reality of having to get on a plane home the next morning I made the questionable decision to go back to Habanos for? More. The Hyatt is good, but if you don't trust the Chicas, there is always the option of the San Roque hotel just around the corner from Habanos.

Go out of Habanos, facing the Marriot, go left towards Beriut restaurant, turn the corner and the the hotel is on the left. Here you can buy condoms and get a room for $20.

I would advise nothing more than going to Habanos. Venetos is not as a friendly atmosphere, and of course is in a sterile casino. At the Veneto they still charge an absurd chica fee (like $39.95 last I checked). You're better off at the Hyatt. No fee, and if they do charge you it's a low $15. It is a couple of minutes walk to Habanos, and five minutes to Veneto.

Just providing an overview from my Panama City trip Dec 13 (Tue) Dec 18th (Sun). I plan to post this in a few different forums I frequent so some of you may have already seen. Also, much of this will not be new, but I think it's good to confirm the going rate for old timers and provide the lay of the land for newbies. My overall take is that without multiple nonstop connections to USA Cities, Habano's caf, and the convenience of quality hotels, Panama City would not be worth a second thought, but it does have those attributes so worth the read. Here goes.

Transportation.

Uber, download it now! I regularly use it in the states and here it is a godsend so you don't need to mess with cabbies. Airport to town is $20-$35 vs $35 for cabs and I didn't have a single ride around town that was more than $5 and some took 20 minutes plus. Tip - Walk to a busy street for quicker pick up. There are many one-ways and it can be a major issue for many of them.

Hotels.

Hyatt Place was where I stayed and a great deal. Cost was $75/ nt for a larger than average room with 2 Queen's, hot breakfast, and free wi-fi. The place also had a nice gym, laundry, and pool on the roof (saw a few cuties up there when I stayed). Girl friendly, but since it's also a family and business hotel I was generally respectful and didn't come back with a girl until later at night (past 11 pm).

Can you give more details about the bad experiences so those that follow know what to avoid. What went wrong? Were there signs during the pickup that we should out look for? Was it up selling? Colombia is just a short flight away. I'd go straight to the source, much better service, many more selections and much lower price. Ashe: More of a dance club type set up with girls that seemed to be Panamanian and Colombian. Within a few blocks of Hyatt and Habano's Caf. I went on a Friday and there was a $10 cover. It seemed liked 3:1 guys to girls (bad! Not sure why the guys were hanging out there. Hard to talk with girls there since it was loud, but if you like to dance it's the place to go.
