I was in Panama city for over a week during carnaval in Februry. A little about me: I lived here as a teenager and now in my mid 30s, go back about once a year or a couple of year, I have been to almost all the places. Visited Golden Time, not impressed with the selection, not quite like my last visit. I just got back from Panama and here is what I saw. First off, The marriott is definitely not chica friendly. Security was outside watching everything. Habanos was packed with all types from 5 to high 9's, however the girls were starting off with ridiculous prices. One girl asked for 500 for the night, I said "what" and moved on. The going rate was starting at 125 but almost all went down to 80 especially near closing time.

Just got back from Panama, a few notes so share from my trip:

1) Things - most, if not all - shut down during carnavales. This includes Habanos. Just an FYI.


2) Euro Hotel - Though others recommend it, I would *not* go there again ...

- gave a difficult time when bringing girls back, though eventually they allowed it

- the pool they show off on their web site is under construction, for how long who knows?

- not a great location actually pretty horrible and far away from anything of import as either a monger or a regular tourist.

- staff is unfriendly

I wish I had paid more and stayed someplace else. I'm just posting this as a heads-up for those heading to Panama and considering this as a place to stay. My advice is go elsewhere.

On a totally non-sexual note, I highly recommend going to the Gamboa National Park. We saw lots of animals and went on the cable ride swinging between the trees - It was a blast!

It's actually Soberania National Park, and Gamboa is the hotel and resort located in the park. And I agree - it's a lot of fun.
