Mfins. You did everything wrong in Lima. Next time ask me first. First you had a cold, then you stayed at a wrong hotel (apartments are the way to go there, even for short-term) , and Tequila Rocks sucks. Amateur hour. Just a stroll through the park or the mall or the department store and you will find all you could possibly want / need. Going rate is about S / 200, roughly $67 for a couple of hours. I've used David too and have not been disappointed. Now I just know his girls and contact them myself (which he is fine with).

Guys, thanks for the info on getting to Habanos. Clearly a cab is the way to go, although I probably shouldn't take one right outside of Veneto. On the other hand, it seems like I might find all I need right there at my hotel. But I'll branch out, just for you, Rippa!

Its a ten-fifteen minute walk from Veneto to Habanos, but why walk it in the scorching heat or rain inhaling car fumes the entire time. By the time you get to Habanos your dripping in sweat and smell like you have been sucking on a tale pipe. Its a $3 cab fare. $4-$5 with the gringo tax and cabs are Everywhere! No offense but Are we that cheap guys!

Also, I was in Lima once. Went for 4 days granted I had an awful cold the whole time but I didn't like it all that much. Hotel charged a huge chica fee ($50) and it was hard to find all the semi pros I had heard about. Went to Tequila Rocks and thought that was cool but no different than Habanos or Veneto in PTY. I didn't use Davids service as I like to feel out the product before I buy but perhaps I should have. Maybe I just didn't do it right but it was a little over rated and not much different than PTY for me.

Someone here mentioned Lima as "up and coming." I've been mongering in Lima for several years now and it is still one of the best-kept secrets in Latin America, but mostly for the "semi-pro" action. You can pretty much have almost any girl you see on the street, especially those college girls who desperately need book money. I have to go to Panama on business this month but if I had my druthers I'd be heading to Lima.

Last time I was in Costa Rica I was VERY disappointed by how it had changed from just a few years back. Used to be the Blue Marlin wasn't like a sardine can with 10 guys for every girl and the girls never charged more than $60. Those golden years.

Last (and first) time I was in Panama I was with a gf, so no mongering action. This time will be different. I'm staying at the Veneto and basically like what I'm reading about it on the Forum. I have two questions, though, answers I can't find here:

1) Is BBBJ the norm, or something that has to be negotiated and costs more, or simply nonexistent?

2) How does one get to Habano's from Veneto? Walking distance?

That was me that mentioned Lima. I've only been there as a 'civilian', most recently just a few weeks ago. God, do I love the food there! Wish I could indulge in our little hobby, and see MANY fine looking little 'hotties' walking around EVERYWHERE, but have not yet had the chance. I based my comment on the many good things I'm reading and hearing from friends and lucky F*ckers like you who have dallied with the Peruanas!

Anyway, to answer your questions based on MY experiences in Panama City:

1) BJs are 'standard' with the Habano / Veneto chicas, no up sell, but usually covered. However, I have also had Columbianas go BBBJ as well. Doesn't hurt to ask up front. You didn't inquire, but anal has been available as well at times, but admittedly for an upgrade.

2) Yes, Habanos is easily walkable from the Veneto. Maybe 5-10 minutes and I've walked it late at night. Just use your 'Big City Senses' if you know what I mean. Ask any of the drivers hanging out in front of the Veneto for directions. BTW, don't use those 'fancy car' drivers out front unless you need a really nice 'ride' somewhere. They can get pricey. Grab a yellow cab instead. They are inexpensive. Keep in mind if you pull a chica out of Habanos and wish to return to your room with her, you will need a cab then as she will most likely NOT fancy even a short 'hike' in her CFM heels! But don't use one of the 'gypsy cabs' in front of Habanos, either. They are rip-off scam artists and I've heard several horror stories about these cholos. Not to worry, however, as there are yellow cabs usually driving by right in front of the Lebanese restaurant across the street (fine food, open late BTW) or the Marriott Casino also directly in front of you. You'll see what I mean.

And while you're at it, why not branch out and see some of the other many wonderful things to experience in PTY? It might be just what the 'Doctor' ordered. RTFF for some other great possibilities, all up and down the quality / price scale. And PM me if you could use a recommendation for a couple of good, reasonably priced cabbie / guides. These guys are fellow 'Punters' and know our 'needs'.

Toda la noche for $12? I'm a local and I haven't seen a single Push with that price! Please recall the name! As far as I know $12 will get you 2 hours!

The first time I saw that offer it was in Penonome (?) around 2-years ago and you had to check in after midnight.

I have used the push button on the right when heading toward the City from PTY. I think it has a goofy name like Arabian Nights. The price may be a little higher, I don't remember since it has been 6-months since I used this trick but you also must check-in after midnight or something like that.

Remember, it is a targeted trick particularly helpful when arriving at the airport late at night and headed into the interior the next day. If you have business in the city, delay your sleep a check into a "real hotel".

I will be back in town soon and will try to get the names. Specifics are always the most helpful.

I have also used that trick. It is one of the best kept secrets of Panama.

When my flight arrives after midnight the most direct route to sleep is a push button near the airport.

The total noches price is around $12 and it is an excellent nap before the long drive out of town.

I learned the trick after getting a flat tire on the way into the city to catch a flight. After changing the tire, I was dirty, sweaty and in no shape to catch a flight. In short, I needed a place to clean up so I checked into a push button somewhere north of PC. While checking in I noticed the "total noches $12" sign and it hit me. I could catch a few hours sleep after arriving in the middle of the night.

Having said that, a good night adjustment wouldn't be all bad.

Just curious: I see these promotional models pushing various products at concerts, discos, expositions, whatever events around town. They seem to be mostly colombianas, though I know many are panameñas. Anybody know if they are available for "personal" gigs? I'd love to hear some first hand experiences.

In my personal experience, some of them ARE available. But they limit themselves (some of them) to known people or referred from someone know them, as in Panama the saying goes, Small Town, Big Hell. Almost everyone knows or at least suspects who is in the "entertainment business", so these girls have to be extra careful

There used to be a quality operation right across the street from the Do-It Center on the same block as TGI Fridays.

It moved over a year ago and I have not found a replacement. They opened around 10 AM and charged $80 for an hour.

Club Miami just doesn't compare.

Esmeraldas in the city of David is the pure definition of what really 'sucks' in this Hobby, having unfortunately experienced it recently myself (Field Reports under the appropriate thread having already been duly turned in). I also have FR's covering current visits to Veneto's within the last couple of months, but continue to read derogatory comments from a handful of fellow punters about this venue in particular, and PTY in general, with growing puzzlement.

I'm not one to indulge in any flame wars on the internet, and certainly not about to change my ways for this site. I will also admit my mongering in PTY is fairly limited to only 3 trips to this city in the last 18 months or so. But Christ, Fellas, I don't believe ANYONE is claiming it's the next Macau, Pattaya, or even Manila. And I think it's been fairly well established by now there are several Latin countries where mongering can arguably be better (Perhaps CR, DR, Brazil, Columbia-Secret Service Issues not with standing, and probably up-and-coming is Lima) But many of us must travel to PTY for work and this can be a very nice and interesting place to easily find some diversion with our hobby. Perhaps Veneto, Habanos or PTY in general no longer live up to the epic accounts of years ago remembered by a handful of more experienced Panama mongering pros. But for some of us, the constant, almost bitter put-downs just seem a bit over the top at times. Can we lighten up a little here Guys?

Rippa, You pretty much hit the nail on the head. Allow me to explain. I consider myself a Panama Vet. In the last 6 years or so I have been over 100 times. Maybe 150. Place used to be so good I was flying from Florida to PTY almost every weekend. Girls were cheaper. Tourists and mongers were non existent. So was the traffic. Girls were Todo la Noche always. Actually more like todo la fin de semana. It was new fun and hip. Now its just played out. Laws changed, tourism changed, there are hotel guest fees, taxis ALL charge the gringo tax now, Shit even the weather seems hotter somehow. Word got out and the masses came and ruined it. Basically what I am saying is PTY was Atlantis-paradise-heaven. It has gone from a 10 to about a 6 or 7. Right in line with the quality and attitude of the girls. So why are some of the so called Panama Vets dogging the country. Well you nailed it. We are disgusted to see the downswing. It just isn't the same. Trust me there are worse places than PTY. There are not many places in the world with a casino, a bar, and putas all under one roof. It is vegas but with looser laws and hookers out in the open but it just used to be sooooo much better than it is now and it sickens me. If someone asked me to go to Panama or pretty much any US city all expenses paid I would say Panama in a heart beat and if someone is travelling there for business or a convention or to meet friends by all means. But, there are better mongering options out there now and for my money I will no longer choose Panama.

OT, This should go in the Monger Great Ideas Hall of Fame. I've spent some sleepless nights in rooms along the Panamerican Highway and in Cangrejo because of lousy air conditioning or too much street noise. Looking back, I probably would have gotten a better night's sleep in a notel. I guess for the budget monger the price is an added bonus.
