I visited Panama City for the first time ever from August 25th to 30th. It was a good, not great, experience but I will certainly be going back. I stayed in the AC Marriott hotel. On my first night I walked to Habanos (now called Cafe Foto) and while it wasn't very crowded at 10 pm, there was enough activity in and outside of the venue to keep me occupied. I chatted up a few ladies (some 8's and 9's in the crowd) but I didn't indulge since I was still feeling kinda tired from having to get to the airport at 3 am that morning to catch my flight. I don't sleep well on planes, so I had to get to bed rather early to catch up on some much-needed sleep.

The following day I went on a couple of scheduled tours and got some exercise at the AC Marriott's gym, which was just a couple of treadmills and some free weights. I hated San Juan. Someone said it best that it lacks the vibrant energy most Latin American cities have to the point I wanted to leave after one day. I did not go to beach or in nature and I am sure that would be different altogether. Panama city is like a quiet nice Miami that's super cheap. Panama is cheaper than Costa Rica. City for city.

Lodging. Booked an Airbnb in the Yoo tower. 75 story bldg on Balboa kind of between Hilton and Meridien. The 2 of us rented this 2 br unit for about $600 for 3 nights = $100 pp / nt. We'd looked at the W due to visitor friendliness but it woulda cost twice at $197/ nt per room. Self check-in picking up keys from reception was seamless. No one ever asked us anything about bringing visitors in. Front desk doesn't care. Would highly recommend this place.

Transportation. We used Uber mostly. $3 ish to Casco and $7 to Ocean Sun but that was in rush hour. Taxi ripped us off from the canal so we learned our lesson.

We arrived Saturday around 3 pm. Got to condo around 4, freshened up and jumped right on panescorts. My buddy hit up a couple and so did I. We were starving and walked out to eat. Did not go back by Habanos so sadly nothing to report there.

Sunday we did the canal and then went to casco. Ate at Tantalo then went upstairs for the rooftop. Very good food and drinks. You will have doorman at the larger condominium places. If you get one near Casco Viejo you'll have a private entrance and good views typically on roof top. The 30 floor condos are hit and miss. I would stay at the W before a huge condo. Casco Viejo is where it's at though. Just a few cheap ubers to get you places.

I asked a few chicas from seeking about the high rise I'm staying in, they all say it's never a problem to get in. Hopefully so I plan to line up at least 1, if not 2 per day. We will see how it goes.

That's the question, a guest for an hour is different than a overnight guest. I have never used them although I see they have a lot of places in panama. I only book at one's that define guest as overnight. The others are just to me visitors.
