The only place I know of close to Hooters is Elite, the high dollar strip club, which is across Calle 50 and a little west of Hooters. They have well choreographed stage shows and usually at least a few hotties. The price for take out is ridiculous unless your date is consuming extremely large amounts of alcohol. You have to buy her $100+ worth of drinks before they'll let her leave, and then she's going to want another $200 or $300. You can line up visits outside the club at more economical prices, but need to be careful as if the club catches the girl freelancing or giving out her phone number they'll fire her.

I am not sure what it is in other countries but, something like 40 percent of all american men are arrested for something by age 35.

About 30 percent of All american men are convicted, plead guilty, or plea bargain to some sort of crime by the age 35.

Granted a lot of these are Something very minor like driving on a suspended license or marijuana posesion but, its really a huge number and for a country like Panama to keep out 1/3 of all American men when they are trying to promote tourism and establish themselves as a world leader for Commerce and banking is a huge number.

Also, trying to find out from the Panamanian embassy / consulate what crimes constitute denied entry is next to impossible. You would think they would widely publish the information to avoid John Doe tourist from wasting time and money coming down only to be turned away but they do not. Other countries (ie: Canada) do not either.

Sorry I am not trying to turn this into a Legal discussion but, if this new policy by Panama holds true and they continue to enforce it this issue will impact a lot of people on this site.

Is Barrio Chino in a safe area at all and is it far from the recommended areas for us to stay in?

Barrio Chino is safe during the day, teeming with people buying fireworks and cheap party decorations and other chinese crap. It's a stone's throw from the fish market. No hotels around there though. I'm not sure what kind of "tourist destination" it is.

The more interesting chinatown may be in El Dorado, near Golden Time. There is a chinese casino.

Dickhead is right, Golden Time opens at 7:30 PM, unless they've changed recently. It's not close to Habano's though.

I saw Anthony Bourdain's episode where he visited Barrio Chino in Panama City. Since I am a Chino, I would be interested in checking the place out. But then I saw another video on YouTube where these guys drove through neighbourhoods at night including Barrio Chino and it looked pretty deserted and scary after dark. Is Barrio Chino in a safe area at all and is it far from the recommended areas for us to stay in?

My personal Favorite is the Panama Hotel Casino, or Mystic Casino.

There are sports books in the Bingo Halls and Most of the casinos. Most are nice and you won't have a problem finding one.

Any Pharmacy in panama will have "sex pills". Try not to buy them at the Pharmacy next to the Veneto. I think its called " Greens" They are expensive compared toother places around town. Not sure if they have Kamagra.

Most girls will take Casino Chips although they much prefer cash and a few may either up charge you if you give them chips, not accept them, or ask you for taxi money in addition to the chips so they can get to the casino to change them out.

Every single girl has Whatsapp.

There is a reggae club on Calle Uruguay.

Not sure if the Hyatt has a hot tub / pool. You can ask the hotel desk where a pool hot tub is.

Your other questions about how much you bet, tip etc should be common sense and is an individual decision to make.

As for chica hunting the real fun in P. C. is from 10 pm To the early morning hours. It's pretty dead outside of that timeframe. But as you mentioned the massage parlors would be an option. I think those cost $120 for an hour, credit cards accepted LOL.

The only massage places that charge $120 that I know of are in Tumba Muerto, being Golden Time and Goldfingers. And that's if you come in a taxi or they think you'll pay that much without arguing. Dickhead is right, Golden Time opens at 7:30 PM, unless they've changed recently. It's not close to Habano's though. One thing I'll say about Golden Time, if you want to get laid early in the evening and are willing to chance a mechanical lay with a good looking woman, it's a damn good choice. Most of the women will be there then, unlike Habano's, the Veneto, Miami, Elite and Le Palace, where as Vegas says the action starts later on.

There are other places, open during daytime, where you can get laid for substantially less than at Golden Time. One is Hawaii Massage. The times I went there I paid $60, and there were four or five dogs and one, possibly two hotties. There are other massage parlors that operate similarly.

Then there are a couple of places in Casco Viejo, the old part of the city, that are open during daytime. I've never been but they're dirt cheap and have been reported on extensively here.

I don't think Golden Time is open in the day either. Last I recall (haven't been there in a couple of years) it opened around 7 or 8 PM like Hábanos and like Hábanos the selection was thin at opening time. Once I was drunk out of my mind while staying at Tower Suites and I went there around 5 PM and it was closed but I staggered into Hooter's and ended up talking to some tourons (a cross between a tourist and a moron) and they paid me to show them around so I took them to Veneto and it ended up being quite a night when all was said and done.

Well, saying that Panamá has more to offer than Salvador is a bit like saying that Richard Nixon was less of a crook than Tim Donaghy. I don't find fish markets to be much of a spectator sport ever since I vomited iln the one in Hong Kong, improving its smell considerably. In all of continental Latin America, El Salvador is the only Spanish speaking country I have not been to and that is because I have yet to hear anyone say anything good about it. That includes people who grew up there. In fact, I was just on a train in Spain with a guy who lived there for nine years and he told me not to bother going there. I will probably go there anyway at some point though, because as you say, there are a lot of flights through there to other places. Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador have this stupid visa pact, though. That means when I am in Guatemala, a place I like, I can't renew my visa by going to (El) Salvador and must go to CR or Panamá instead.

Panam City is not a real exciting place and mostly exists as a place to get from North America to South America, as far as mongering is concerned. At least that is my opinion..

Actually, I just saw Anthony Bourdain's episode in Panama and I quite liked the fish market he was in. I can see myself spending time in there during the daytime and trying out different types of cerviches in addition to checking out the canal.

I can see that so far, Panama at least has more to offer than say San Salvador, which is another common travel connection.

Not only is Hábanos dead in the day time, it is closed. I like Hábanos and if you only have one night, that is where you should go. If you have two nights, go to Hábanos one night and Boca the next night. Golden Times is okay if you want to spend a bit more money and is quite near to Hábanos. Maybe six blocks. Panamá City is not a real exciting place and mostly exists as a place to get from North America to South America, as far as mongering is concerned. At least that is my opinion.

BTW I do not 'detest' Colombia. It is just dangerous and everyone should know that. There was some overlap in what I posted. For instance, when I got thrown in the clink, that was one of the two times they tried to rob me, and some of the problems with my doormen were connected with the taxi driver incident (which also involved cops, who were sort of assholes but also sort of just doing their jobs). Now you want a country I detest, that would be Venezuela and I am not at all fond of The Bahamas.

No don't skip Panama City. Go, visit Habanos at 10 PM. Meet chicas dressed up like it's New Year's Eve from several different countries. Chat them up to assess their attitudes. Negotiate with them on their prices. Have another beer and make another walk around some more letting them know you're trying to make a decision. Finally take one back to your hotel and eno!

If I am not staying overnight (have not decided whether to do just a 7 hour layover or an overnight stay or two), then it might be hard to visit the night time action unless they have something going on during the day. This is why I was originally targeting something like GoldenTime for the daytime hours if Habanos or even Venetos is dead in the daytime.
