No, there's no action in that area but it is indeed a very short ride to the Marriott area where the action is. If you take the bit of the highway in front of the Sheraton you'd be in the center in 5 minutes at night (avoid peak hours).

If I'm not mistaken there is a casino in the hotel itself. Don't know if you will find WG there, though. As for being girl-friendly my memory is the entrance is wide open and you just hit the elevators without anyone asking you where you are going. The desk is by the levetors but if you use the fron entrance it would be after the elevators, so no need to get to it. Hope this helps.

Okay, so, I'm halfway through my trip and here's what I've done so far:

- Apartment/condo: Great spot! Overlooks half of the city, a piece of ocean and a part of the mountains/hills. 3br, 2baths for $130/nt. Better rate than you can get a Veneto or Marriott unless you have reward points.

- Habanos: got 3 phone numbers of girls for future rendezvous; I could have easily took one right then and there, but that would have ruined me for the night.

- Veneto: went there as soon as I left my apartment first day, ended up being around 8-9pm; OUTSTANDING selection. Better than I remember when I stayed at Veneto 2 years ago. Although I have to say, the girls seemed to be a little particular about who they were going with; I didn't try any of them at the time, but, I definitely saw them trending toward older, white haired gentlemen versus younger or latin guys. Likely the perception of more money. I saw one chica that I actually thought was a normal girl because she was hanging with a guy and gambling at the roulette table, but then I noticed she started looking at me and smiling alot. She was built like a brick house, but its a little hard to tell if it was some kind of body shaper or her real shape. Made small talk, found out she was from Colombia, that was the giveaway. Got the number and would've called last night if it weren't for the SIM Card issue I had. Maybe will call tomorrow or later tonight.

- LePalace: went here looking for my amiga from Bogota; soon as I walked in I forgot all about her. No surprise, some real stunners here. It is in the "Rio Abajo" area of PTY, about a $2-$3 cab ride from Venetto/Mariott area. Nice club and chicas. I would stongly recommend that you consider having the taxi driver wait for you. Although the area didn't look dangerous, taxis to go back seemed to be too few and far in between.

you should not pay more than $2 for the cab. At the capri there's a $3 cover charge, no free drinks with it, beers are $3.15, but you might want to get a pitcher for $5.
Time with the girls is $36 per 15mins(damn them!! they raised the price to locals from $15 to $21 and to foreigners the price is even higher, but dont know if higher than $36)
The quality of the girls will not dissapoint you

El Complaciente is a escort service that is a joke. They only have two or three girls, and they are old *****s that used to work at one of the clubs in the city. He uses the bait and switch all the time. The girls that you see on the web site are false, they are only models that pose for the web site, then you get another chick. Notice how you cannot see the faces at all, it is a joke. He will tell you that the girl that you want is not available, and they are always not available. He only has one or three girls working, and they always hang out at the miramar hotel, or cocos bar before they come to you. >they search for clients at the bar, then wait for the call from there pimp.

Rodeo, Habanos is closed on Sundays. GT opens at 7:30 PM and closes really late, I think about 4:00 AM. Closest movie theater -- I'm not sure, but I've always gone to Multicentro, the mall on Balboa across the street from Radison, which has maybe 8-10 screens. I don't really have any good suggestions for places other than malls to hang out looking for women. I've never hung out around the national university, but it's located just west of downtown, within walking distance of Cangrejo. About beaches, are you planning on spending the night or a day trip? If you're overnighting my first choice would be Playa Blanca. The all inclusive hotel there used to be a Barcelo. Second choice, which is cheaper and also all inclusive, would be Decameron. Santa Clara beach in this area is a good destination for a day trip, and has a couple of beach restaurants/bars and a lot of people on weekends. All of these are 2 to 2-1/2 hours from the city. Coronado beach is decent and closer in, maybe 1-1/2 hours from Panama City. To my knowledge, there aren't any decent beaches close to the city. If you go to the beach I'd recommend renting a car -- it's going to be less hassle and more comfortable than taking the bus. Don't rent from Avis -- I've had problems with three of their cars. My experiences with Hertz were mixed and the one time I used Thrifty all went well.

I went to the Veneto location once -- it sucked -- six or seven ugly women. I don't remember the price, but what I was quoted was higher than the other location.

I'm headed to PTY this Thursday for 5 days. I've done a ton of research thus far and have a few lingering questions:

- What day of the week is Habano's closed? I think I remember it was some obscure day in the middle of the week, right?

- When (time) does Golden Times close and what days are they closed, if any?
