One that I do: bring a roll of tape. If your room has no safe, you can tape some of your money to underside of a drawer or desk. It is out of site and no one searching would think to look there. Unless they read this...dohhhh

Hotel Tips
For Mongers

Here are a few tips that have proven helpful over the years while mongering in hotels.
They are in no particular order. Maybe Jackson can move this to a section where everyone can benefit.

1. If you are staying for at least a week or so, upon check in, have the hotel remove everything from the mini bar. Then refill from the corner market the things you like at a fraction of the cost.
The idea here is not so much counting pennies, but the first morning a girl refuses to give you a morning session, and she has spent $100.00 at you mini bar, it might give you a headache all day.

2. As soon as you check in, put your bath towels in a drawer, and call housekeeping to inform them your room needs towels. You never seem to have enough of these during a long night of fucking.

3. If you have to take a room without a safe, It pays to keep a noise maker in your luggage. I keep a wind chime rubber banded with me. Then simply hang it on the inside of your closet door. When you hit the shower, and hear the chimes, you know you have a curious chica, but more than likely a thief!

4. Always shower with the bathroom door open. It’s also a good idea to turn on the water, then pop out into the room in thirty seconds for a quick kiss. Girls who are going to search usually start within 30 seconds of hearing the shower running.

5. *****s all think your shampoo is their body wash. Either take a lot with you, or pull it out of the shower before they go in.

6. Make a habit of placing your do not disturb sign on the door when you return at night. After an all nighter with no sleep, the maid will always hit your room first at 8 am.

7. Keep your lighter and gum in a drawer, these are some of the items that if seen by a chica, become their property.

8. Most hotels charge the same for one or two adults. Always put 2 on your registration card when checking in. Even in guest friendly hotels I have found that this sometimes is a life saver late at night with a stubborn guard who is looking to extort you for a tip.

9. A tremendous amount of hotels in Latin America use “water saver” shower heads. If you have the space, you can pick up a $6.00 head from home depot and put it in your luggage. This will assure you of good water pressure, and it takes thirty seconds or less to change. Just don’t forget to swap it back at check out.

10. At check in, always ask for two key cards. A lot of hotels have a system in the room that requires you to have a key inserted to turn on lights and a/c. this is a great place to store your extra key. It’s a pain in the ass to have to keep inserting your only card.

11. When leaving the hotel, try to use taxis parked across the street. The one the bellman calls for you usually charges up to 100% more.

I hope this helps. Remember, take a few seconds to prepare your room, and it will make for a safer and much more enjoyable hobby.

I spended in Panamà a very good vacations.

[He] has an amazing amount of knowledge and travel savvy but he doesn't have much in the way of "creds" on this board because due to work conflicts he doesn't have enough time to post. (he probably only had around 40 posts at the time)

...........the guy I was talking about back then was "Fantasy". My travel buddy.

He may be bold and loud and "in your face" but his insights and opinions are pure gold! This board is lucky to have him.

If you're going to bring liquor, it's usually cheaper to buy it at home than at the duty free. If you're going to buy it there always look for a Sam's Club or Costco first. For mongering, I like to bring at least one bottle of Jack in bubble wrap in my checked luggage. Sometimes I use the bubble wrap on my return trip, sometimes I throw it out.

Most all systems that use electronic cards use a number-type security system. If you suspect a key has been lifted, go to the front desk and ask them to make you two more. Those keys will have a higher number & once the lock reads them they won't open with a number that's lower (like your original keys), making the "lost" keys useless. (This is true for all Marriott properties & I assume for all others as well)

Put your condoms by the bedside in plain view. I've had problems with girls jumping on bareback when I wasn't keen on that. I also put lube there.

I like to dispose of the "evidence" in an old plastic bag, usually dropped in a hallway trash can. I guess I just don't feel comfortable with the possibility of embarrassing the maid. My issue, I guess.

I usually take my laptop. In other countries, even at Marriotts I like to lock it to the desk with one of those Kinsington audible alarms. Don't know if I'm really accomplishing anything but so far no problems. I also backup my recent photos onto a thumb drive & put that in the safe.

I travel a lot, so I usually bring a few extra shampoos & offer all the toiletries to the girls - they seem to love them.

BTW, Mr. Fantasy - your comment about having the stuff removed from the minibar is dead-on as is the do not disturb sign! Another point - ALWAYS check the in-room alarm clock as soon as you arrive. Sometimes the bastard before you had to get up at 5 AM and the alarm is still set to the "on" position.

When I check in I always ask - "no problem for a guest?" and if there is I know to resolve the problem before it's a problem (never had an issue at Marriotts except when I brought back two girls in Sao Paulo).

Now a question for you guys: I'm a chronic NON-smoker. But....if considering a TLN should I consider getting a smoking room?

I love the one about the lighter and gum. And the one about the taxis is absolutely true.

Just to add a couple

When stocking your room make sure you have some liquor that the girls will like. In Panama, any kind of whiskey or vodka will do. A few drinks in the room can only enhance the fun. However, be careful you don't get the girl "over the edge" and she passes out!

I also keep my camera out in plain view. Many have been intrigued enough to ask for pics themselves.

Music! - This based on a tip from Senor Ford. Find out if you room will have a CD player, if not bring one. I just leave a number of CD's sitting there. They go right for them and start playing. They love music, love to dance and it enhaces the environment.

The rest of my latest trip collection? I always do all nighters. I usually picked them up between 11 and midnight and they have to agree to two night and one morning session, then breakfast in the hotel to [CodeWord140] off the waitresses who hate to wait on *****s who just made their months salary the night before for having a few good orgasms. We also had a honeymoon couple at the hotel. Every morning the groom got repremanded for drueling, and thinking to himself, "what the fuck did I just do? "

I had the same experience in the morning. The waitress would look at us with a stern face. After going back a few mornings to the same waitress, and giving her good tips she relaxed a bit and was much nicer. Some middle aged woman were not happy at all with us and gave us the looks that can kill face. Their husbands on the other hand looked at us with a smile and a thumbs up when his old lady was looking the other way!

These experiences are priceless and I will remember forever. The $140 you paid was worth every penny. It is always better to slightly overpay than underpay. You do get what you pay for. Either with a very pretty girl or the quality of the experience, or both.

Now if I can only find a nice Colombiana that can speak some English.
