I too am very weak in these places. I would never be able to go in and only drink! My visit to Le Palace was with a girl I took out for the night from Miami. She wanted to go see a friend. So I was able to sit and observe.

Thanks for pointing out the differences in the clubs approach to girls. I have heard that about Elite too. Supposedly they have some arrangement with the major hotels to keep track of them also.

Le Palace is a short walk from the Marriott. Perhaps one night I will take a late stroll and try to pull something out of there at a reasonable price.

Regulr Travlr, Actually, Elite is a lot more fun than Le Palace, IMHO. Reason, as noted by Panamanian, is because of the shows. They have a gay guy, a professional choreographer, who designs them and they are fun to watch. The women there also tend to party and have a good time, more so than Le Palace. I think if you do just go in there and pay $21 and drink your drinks and enjoy the shows, it's a good deal. My problem is I'm weak and end up blowing a lot of cash.

Another difference, a negative, in Le Palace management doesn't appear to care what the women do when they're not working. A woman may ask a waiter to come over with a piece of paper and a flashlight so she can give you her phone number. In Elite, unless things have changed, a stripper could lose her job if she gets caught slipping you her phone number. For a Colombiana living in Panama this is a big deal. So you need to be very discrete there.

Panamanian, where's La Guaracha? Also, about the price at Elite, it seems like they've quoted me $100+ to the club and $200 to the girl for take out, or $300+ total. And that's just for a couple of hours. If you negotiate, can you get them down to $150 total (girl and club) for one of the better looking women? Thanks!

Panamanian's description of Elite sounds just like an American high end strip club. I have not been in there, but have been in Le Palace which is similar. I do enjoy hitting these clubs in America because this is all that we have. I much prefer the less high end clubs in Panama, because my goal for traveling there is to get the girls for sex. I would put Miama and Life Girls at my top.

I know several of you have not had good success at Life Girls. Give it another chance after March 15. I know for a fact that a half of the girls are rotating out around then. See what the new crop brings.

Luvr - I had wrote that about the cabbies. Also the incessant honking and asking if you want a massage. I do not know their normal economics, but I am sure a big part of it is in commission from the clubs and the girls. At almost all clubs they will wait for you to finish and take you back. This happened even at Miami and Capri which are a little far from the center of town where we picked up the cab. We were in these places at least a couple of hours. And they just hung out there. So they made about $6 from us RT for a couple of hours. The bars must pay them something.

I have also seen them promoting specific girls. We would ask for a cab to a club and instead they would say why go there, I have beautiful girl right here. So there is some commission arrangement there as well. Not sure how it works with girls already in the casino.

One thing I guess this does say is that if you can get a SW entirely on your own, your negotiating power on pricing should be very good. Remind her that she has no one else to pay out. This is probably why so many of these girls give out their number and are hoping for direct repeat business.

Maybe "Panamanian" is a cabbie?

The cabbies are quite aggressive in trying to hook you up with a "chica alegre" (sp?)

I read somewhere else in here about the cabbies all tooting their horns as they drive by, IE "I'm available". Dang if that aint so! The quick double toot seems to be the choice, and when a flurry of cabs passes your walking gringo arse, so does an orchestra of horn toots.

Gas costs about the same here as in the states, and I dont get how these guys make a living. A fare around the capital is just a couple bucks, that´s 1/2 hour's gas driving laps tooting your horn at everyone. They do like to try to sell you a woman though.. must be where the real dough can be made...

I did ask a cabbie how it works one night, after he talked me into taking a walk through Veneto Casino with him, right across the street from my destination, Hotel Las Vegas. We´d already had a beer together at the place he picked me up, so we´d been hanging around together for an hour or so by then. He told me, they can make around $20 commish for delivering a customer. I asked him, who pays him, in the case of these women working the casinos? He said the women do. Hmmm.

Anyone have a better idea how it all works with the cabbies? From what I've seen it seems driving a cab in PCY is a nice way to LOSE money, if fares are your only income!

Well perhaps because I've gone to ELITE to not exclusively dig girls but to have a good time. Anyway, anytime I go there (by the way i have months without visiting Elite)

Reasons to be there... (if you wanna have a good time, not sex).

1. Mucho comfort (very clean place, very nice seats, attention, etc)

2. For 16.00 you can have an "open beer" (all the beer you want), or if you prefer for 21.00 open bar (local seco, barcardi rum, and some other).

3. You can have some nice table dance for 11.00 (lasts one song), or for (i think) 28.00 a private table dance (lasts one song too).

4. You can "ask for" some snacks for free.

5. You can pay (if you want) some drinks to the chicas (15.00), kinda expensive for me.

6. Very safe place.

7. Occasionally, they give "table dance" free for everyone, but that's maybe once each week or two weeks (not sure).

8. Pretty, good looking chicas (most Colombians, some Dominicans and Panamanians).

9. Although the price is kinda high for sex (150.00) you can make some arrangements with them for 100.00 or even 75.00.

10. last but not less, YOU GET SHOWS AFTER SHOWS, there's virtually no stop.

One tip I 've heard lately is that most of those girls from LE PALACE and ELITE go to a bar named "LA GUARACHA", but that's very late (maybe about 5:00AM).

I'm curious why Elite is at the top of your list. I do really like the shows there, and the women are fun to party with. NEVER EVER visit chicas in EL MERCADO (that's as risky as visiting Colon city at night).

I felt pretty safe there, but it is not in the best part of town. I am pretty big (fat), 6' 250lbs, so I did not think anyone would start anything with me.

There was a little "augument" that happened the night I was there with some guy and a chica, but security basically just picked up the guy that had the problem and moved him out the door. It was all over within 15 seconds and it was back to the watching the action on the stage.

It was good to have Alex, my driver with me. He knew the security guys at the door, so that made me feel a little safer. They were not going to let something happen to me unless I was being an ass. Since I normally just like to have fun and keep out of trouble, I did not have any problems.

Fun place, but it is not for the newbie traveler

Did you feel comfortable there as a gringo? Was it better to have your driver with you?

I had that on my list because the pricing was reasonable. The chica in the picture looks just fine to me.

One night, I jumped into a taxi expecting to go to "Crystal Moon" or "Crystal Palace" It was a strip joint that had been posted on ISG.

It was still early and my taxista (Alex) suggested we check out the streets first. I was in no hurry since I was just staying the 1 night before heading to Colombia. I asked him for an hourly rate ($8.00 US per hour), and told him to show me around. We drove through the streets checking out chicas, and then to centro. He showed me where the US bombed when they invaded Panama to capture Noriega (spelled?). I wanted to smoke something and knowing that Panama is so close to Colombia, I figured it would not be hard for him to hook me up ;-)

Anyway, I wanted to smoke in a more private area, so he took me to a big park with the view of the canal. It was evening and seeing the hugh ships going through the canal was really cool.

When I was done getting loose, he suggested that we go to a strip joint in the centro called "La Mayor". He said everything was alot cheaper there. Since my buddy "El Austriaco" had a good experience letting someone show him around in Barranquilla several months prior to my trip, I figured I would go with the flow and follow my taxista's advise. (You all might be thinking that my taxista is going to take me to a clip joint but just wait).

He took me downtown (to Centro) along the waterfront. It was near "El barrio de chino" (Chinatown). Entrance was a whopping $2.00 US, and that included your first beer. Each beer after that was 1 Dollar. I thought that was a great price and since my screen name is DollarBill, it was my kind of place.

The place was full of guys with a handful of chicas. I spotted a cute girl (looks better in real life than in the photo attached). She wanted $25.00 US onsite (room and condom included) for 1/2 hour. Since early that day, I had a Caleña from Oasis that wanted $30 for the house, plus $80 for her, I know that I had found a good deal in Panama.

Anyway... the room was ok even though the shower only had cold water. The service was great and very GFE.

We spent about 45 minutes enjoying ourselves, even though 30 minutes was the time limit. We went back downstairs and had another beer. Alex was waiting for me and we were off.

We hit the streets looking for SW'ers. I figured since Alex treated me right and did not try to cheat me, I would repay him with a treat. (see photos in the photo section).

I returned to Panama a couple of weeks later and Alex remembered when I was returning and picked me up at the airport, without even a phone call to remind him. I will post information about him separtely incase any of you all need a trustworthy taxista (guide).

Spider and I have been talking about hitting Colombia, probably Cartagena and Medellin in the fall. Nothing else on the horizon. But that can easily change.

I have to tell you, you've presented a somewhat different (better) picture of PTY than I had heard from others. Its nice to hear, and the Veneto Casino sounds very interesting!

I can see how you missed it. You probably never raised your eyes above street level looking at all the SW. Or you are looking down at the steps to Oasis!

I would have stayed there this time if I did not still have Marriott points. The elevator set up is very good for discreet access to the rooms. Also the girl I picked up from there mentioned that the place really accomodates all the girls that hang out there. They are making a lot of extra money from the guys hanging out at the bar and drinking. You can easily take one upstairs, finish and send her down, rest and go back and get another one.
