Thanks for this. In your opinion, is this a doable option with luggage from the airport? I figure that where the light rail drops off, we would need a taxi or Uber to get to hotels if staying in the main red light area where Habanos-Global Cigar is.

I took the advice here and decided that I will stay in Panama City for a few nights rather than just use it as a quick flights connection during the tail end of a multi-country trip in the spring. I figure since I'm flying into Panama, I might as well take some time to check the country out. So I know the main mongering action will be at Habanos (now renamed Global Cigar), JW Marriott casino and the local oriented La Bocatorena in the older part of town.

Now I think we need an update on the hotels within walking distance of Habanos-Global Cigar that is chica friendly and especially those that do not charge unreasonable high guest fees as this seems to be always changing. So which hotels would be the current recommendations? Also have any of you used Airbnbs in the main red light area successfully to bring back girls? I also read somewhere that as another option, there might be short term love hotels very close to Habanos-Global Cigar but haven't come across their names.

Good point about staying in Panama City rather than just a short layover at the airport. Might as well see a bit of a country even if other countries are the main destinations. About the Bocaterena bar -- I thought I saw a sign for its prices on a video and those cheap rates were for just 12 min or so. If one wanted say an hour, it would be comparable to the $100 rate the girls in the city are asking for

Exactly; and the cab from the airport is not cheap ($25 min).

Was in Panama with my dad so didn't get to play but still wanted to share a few things.

Sidewalks were mostly crap. Not a pedestrian friendly city.

JW Marriott Casino on a Saturday does have some decent bar scenery. Most of the chicas are in their late 20's, early 30's. Single mom club.

Habanos was hopping. Wow, I hadn't seen a place like that in awhile. Definitely need to be there by 8/8:30 to get a table. Pay as you go. Servers are pirates.

Dating apps in Panama were pretty dead.

I think I only saw 3 attractive women outside of the the casino and Habanos. But in their defense, a lot of people were out of town enjoying Carnival.

Met a couple beautiful, gorgeous, smiling, flirty girls in Bocarotena. Funs as hell when I was struggling with mi Espanol, Very sexy and spicy in bed.

Also beers for guys and girls are cheap, like $2. You can buy girls beers all night and not break the bank.

Got a good tour with authentic local flavors.

Time was never mentioned but I thought it was half hour in the room.

COPA has very competitive fares to Bogota or Medellin with unlimited layover in Panama city, a very good deal.

Panama City is definitely worth a few days visit.

Across the street from Mercado de Mariscos, Bar La Bocaterena will have a good selection of 2 dozen women until 10 PM, slim, heavy, tall, short ect, costing about $10 -15 in shabby rooms with a bed and a toilet right next to it behind the bar. I found a few very attractive girls in this bar. The Seafood Market across the street has fresh seafood, good prices.

I would stay in the new part of town, not in La Casco Viejo old Spanish town due to mostly dark, deserted narrow alleys with old crumbling buildings under reconstruction, very messy and dangerous. Police patrol squads on jeeps with machine guns are positioned at major intersections heading into La Casco Viejo. Even though I walked back at night from La Boca, I did not think that area was safe.

There are street girls and bar girls near hotels in the main part of city.

Go see the Panama Canal now badly dried up due to lack of rain.

Take a bus tour through the poor old neighborhoods and the new ritzy neighborhoods along the East Coast where exotic car dealers, Ferrari, Rolls Royce ect chase after huge amount of laundered money.
