This is the Great City of Costa Ricas Caribbean coast,birtplace of United Fruit and Capital of Limon Province. It is in so many ways still unremoved from San Joses sphere of influence. Around here,buisness is measured by the truckload of bananas not busload of tourists,so do not expect much pampering. Cruise Ships do deposit passengers here almost daily from October through May. I need to get going again but I will try to post on Limon more stuff later. Hey Now besides the bars where there are working girls are there also SWS In The Streets of Limon? I think The XXX Action is by Parque Vegas. I also think a 24 hour Internet place exists in Limon. Got to go. Hey Colorado Dan Thanks for the info. Yes I want to come to Limon For The Carnaval in October. But How do I book a good place. I would of course come in from THE U.S. To San Jose then take A Bus But I even heard buses are so full that week of Carnaval that you must book in advance. But I heard there are extra buses running at that time. What If I just took a Taxi there? What is the most I would spend on going to Limon? I think you can get there by Air from San Jose By two differnt companies. I think Sansa and Nature Air. But I also would not like to go that route. I am hearing rumours that international filghts should be going to Limon by now. But Who knows. OK On To Woman You Said Big Girls and overage I do not mind that. If Its Big Chunky Black Girls with Huge Tits And Big Asses I am in. I also love Big Hairy Bushes too. Can You explain more on how these working girls look like? What are the prices? hey nibu! i was in limon c.r. a few years back with a good buddy! dont waste your time there!!! at night it becomes a ghost town because of the crime situation, which is bad because of the many gangs and big drug problem! we did find some bars near the large park that had a few working women, but they were all way over weight and over the hill! the only good thing about limon is that the women there are about the most sexy black and mixed blk girls you will ever see! even the older 60-70 year old ones will make your eyes pop out!! but forget getting close to any of them! they are really religious there (not catholic) and they take it serious. the ones that go into yhe business go to san jose to work. we were there during a national holiday with street parades all day, a lot of sey women in the parades and on the street! at night we sat on the porch of the hotel and watched the police in thier pick-ups speeding around chasing the bad guys, and we heard gun fire several times!

Sorry on this again had to check out some things. OK Then This is What else I know On Puerto Limon>>> ACCOMADATIONS>>>> Be cautious of ultra cheap places they usually do not have strong locks. Most Hotels have electronic locks,so may have to wait to get buzzed in. Hotel Continental and Hotel Internacional are both two blocks north of the norteast corner of the mercado ,25 m from the beach,and share the same owner and prices. Basic rooms have fans and baths. Continental 798/0532. Internacional758 0434.singles 3500,with A/C 4000;doubles 4000/4800;triples without A/C 5000. Hotel Miami half a block west of the southwest corner of the market,has large rooms with fans,hot baths,and lots of light.More expensive rooms come with A/C,telephone,and TV. singles are 5500-8250 phone 758 0490 and 758 4888. All these prices of course in Colons. I will try to post a part 4 on Limon later today. I think Jackson actually should have a section for Puerto Limon here. Why it is not here that sucks. ORIENTATION AND PRACTICAL INFO>>>>> Like most major Costa Rican Cities,Puerto Limon is laid out in a grid section of north-south calles and east-wast avenidas,but finding street signs is nearly impossible. Orient yourself by the mercado municipal,AV. 2/3,C.3/4,where busesdrop passengers. All hotels and restaraunts are within a few blocks of the mercado. Hi I wonder Why not much info on Puerto Limon? This sucks. Puerto Limon is kind of like Colon in Panama but safer. I heard not too many Gringos go here. That is Great for my side being a 36 Year Old Polish American Gringo from Chicago. I am planning two trips to come up either one later this year and another one for Brazil early next year. Now I am changing my plans again thinking of going in october for my one month trip. It would be for the second week of October. First starting out in Costa Rica and trying to check the Carnaval in Puerto Limon that happens there the second week of October before October 12th. I would come for two days to do this then visit like Puerto Vijo and Sixaola plus places in the San Jose Metro area then off to Peru. Here is What I know on Puerto Limon>>>> Limon boasts a cultural diversity found nowhere else in Costa Rica,and is also a launching point for excursions to Tortuguero,Playa Bonita,and other Caribbean towns. At Night Taxis are advisable,the city has a reputation for crime. The annual October 12 Carnaval celebrating the Dia De La Raza>>> Aka Colombus Day now officially named Dia Da Las Culturas,demands attention as music, dancing,and drinking spill out into the streets for almost a week. Yes, the hookers told me they serviced the crews of ships. Many of the ships run routs between Limon and the US or Europe carrying fruit and returning empty. Sometimes they are only in port for a few hours, so the crews are allowed to have their "girlfriends" and "friends" visit them ship board.

The schedules are known and the girls booked in advance. However, the ships are not in port most of the time. The crews work for very low wages so the product is priced to sell.

While on a cruise ship a few years ago I befriended the ship's nurse and we had an intimate time.
She said that the crew went ashore at Limon and frequented the "American Bar" where they went bareback with the chicas.
Most came down with the clap and were treated by her on the ship.

Limon is a seaport and has a lot of hookers that service the ships. My experience is that the quality, quantity and price were quite good.

I don't know if there are any Massajas (I think that is the spelling of massage parlors) but there is definitely one bar/night club that was full of both local girls and hookers. Ten years ago the price was $10 a shot which really meant for the night. The bar was on the second floor, I spent the night at the hookers apartment with her and her hooker roommate who showed up later. I took soem time to converse with them and treat them like decent humans. They both had lots of hooker friends and showed me the photos and asked if there were any I would like to try out while in town. The bar and the girls were spanish only, no grad students. The locals can't pay the $100 fees I see being quoted, which seem absurd to me. So the places and girls the locals use are more in line with their $3000 a year incomes. Tthe girls ran from fours to a few tens. If someone does a small favor for you, hand them a small tip of a few bucks descretely and say thanks. You'll make friends, not for your money, but for treating them with some dignity. They already know they are relatively poor.

I'm guessing that a cab driver might tell which bar has hookers, you might want to get a drive by during daylight hours and bring your map. I never let myself get dropped in a neighborhood that I don't know anywhere in the world, CR is no exception. Again, unless your cabbie is dickless he will get your meaning, if he a bible thumper don't push it. Find a new cabbie.

If you are concerned about security (smart), ask the cabbie if the area is safe, use your eyes and brain, and maybe ask the hotel which areas are safe for you to go walking in day and night. " I like to walk" The hotel can tell you which bars have dancing (disco) and senioritas, if you are talking to a man, unless the guy is dead he will get your drift without mentioning hookers. Don't make your hotel staff feel like pimps.

Limon has the old central market (mercado central) built by the United Fruit company (who also built Limon). My guess is that you will see a lot of locals eating there and buying drinks and groceries. While not Rodeo Drive, many of the central markets are a nice places to see what normal people do in CR. Granisados con illados and fruit drinks are great, fresh fruit to eat now (ahora) from the vendors can be great, They have types of fruit that are awsome and not seen in the US. If there is a little restaurant in the market or across from the market, see if the locals are using it heavily at lunch time. Black beans, steak or fish and rice with vegitables can be a great meal. I never eat raw vegitable and avoid raw salids. If you get milk for your coffee, have them bring both to your boiling. If you do get sick get some Lomotil from any pharmacy. In fact it is so cheap, buy some when you see your first pharmacy. Ask your hotel or cabbie if the market is safe and a good place to shop.

CR never had real crime in the past but they may be learning. Pick pocketing is considered honest crime as is burgulary and probably now car theft for chop shops or taking them into Nicaragua or Panama. Loose the jewelry, put your walet in the front pocket, don't carry a lot of cash and keep xeroxs of every document with the emergency numbers in your suitcase. One ATM card and one credit card are plenty. Leave all unnecessary documents at home, empty your wallet. In the highly unlikely event someone sticks a knife or gun in your face, give them your wallet and take the loss.

Limon is pretty small, I used to walk it every day when I was 12.

In Limon there is enough action, but mostly its not so frequented by americans or europeans.

I was there 2 years ago (and will be there in about 2 weeks again). There are several small, a little bit scary looking bars in the middle of the town, near the central park, but I dont mind as I speak spanish as good as german. I had 2 experiences there, the first one: Made eye contact with a friendly good looking girl, went with her to a near hotel (which is used often by pros and their customers) and had really good sex which we both enjoyed. In fact she forgot to cash the 5000 colones, but as a gentleman I gave it to her of course.

The second experience was not so good, but I was very drunk, and the lady stole some of my money while giving me a blowjob. Well I was VERY drunk.

Also in the streets there are everwhere nice woman, pros and many semipros. Just talk to them, and be nice, then things will happen! But you should speak some spanish.
