Jajajaj yep. Funny you posted the fish pic as a lot of the city smells like it sometimes. Definitely a fisherman's port city.

I do think there is action here though like I have written previous. I have been in the bars and if you chat up a lady it's very possible, but I do think the tinder game would get better results in that area. I would love to spend a week there instead of just a day or two as I do believe it has some hidden gems. I remember I stayed at an Airbnb with my tica and we had to lock everything up as it was in a side street and not the best part of town, but down there street there were ladies on the corner at various times.

I'm sorry I thought I was being clear. I was speaking of the port city.

You can get on the ferry's to go to Nicoya. A bunch of ladies that go to Jaco are from this local area.

I have spent a lot of time in Tambor and Santa Teresa and other places as well and they are not mongering destinations but if you have game the backpackers might be available. Ticas love being taken there but especially Santa Teresa is not exactly cheap.

From what I understand, Puntarenas was once the place to go in Costa Rica. I'm talking many years ago. Ticos from Santa José still go there for long holiday weekends but it is run down and has definitely seen better days.

Puntarenas is the entire province. You are right it can have cooler temps in the mountain elevations.

However, I was speaking of the port city. Same temperatures and climate as Jaco. Seedy town. Many girls go to Jaco from Puntarenas area because of the tourist.

Looked it up. Average daily highs 30 C to 35 C. Similar to Jaco. Same coast and not far apart. Very tropical high humidity often.

At some point I'm going to just stay here for about 3 or 4 days and play the bar, beach, and tinder game.

Typical Tica fees range from $80-$150 but I would bet here you could find $30-60. I would keep a room at one of the local hotels across from the beach and start swiping right while eating a typic Tico lunch.

Its a fisherman's and cruise ship town with lots of bars and people walking around. Many of the local girls in Jaco come from here. So. Why wouldn't there be an ample supply of hidden jems?

Any punters reading this that have done a bombing run there would love to hear about the experience in detail.

    Secret Punters Paradise

I really think that Puntarenas (the city or town) could be a hidden place to really do well.

    One more tidbit

I posted about this seedy beach town in other areas, because I didn't see this. But, I love this place.

It is not for the average tourist. But if you are local, or have no fear of the locals, and are used to CR life then this place might be fun. It looks like it is not the safest place in CR for sure. As a matter of fact, I feel much safer in Jaco. Although, I never felt in danger anytime I have been there.

The place reminds me of Seaside Hts NJ. Before Sandy. Its got the same seedy vibe.

Anyway, the way I do it, is just approach girls by themselves or in 2 or 3 that are near the beach. I usually stay across the street at one of the hotels. I am surprised how many go to Jaco anyway. Keep in mind though not all. You have to make conversation and feel them out. This is not point and click. I have never been to the other bars previous mentioned but I would imagine that talent is not the most supreme.

    Requiem for the Vaca Brava

I have been informed that the Vaca Brava is no longer in business.

It was located at the intersection of the Panamerican Highway and the feeder route to Barranca.

I have driven in front of the place during what used to be business hours and the place is locked down.

Not a big loss in my book but it was a good place to stop and hydrate oneself on the way to the beaches.

Sorry for those who were patrons.

    Mellow.
