    Hotels cool with multiple chicas.

Newbie here, headed to San Jose for the first time. Very excited, of course. I just have a question related having multiple girls up to your room. Any restrictions on this?

The only reason I'm asking is due to my experience in Lima where I could only have one girl up to my room at a time.

I'll probably have more questions as we get closer. Thanks for all your help and recommendations!

BTW, yes I have stayed there several times, some of the nicest rooms are on the street and you can hear traffic during the day with the windows open, and it remains my first choice for affordable Gulch lodging / Breakfast is a cut above some, offering eggs-your-style, pancakes and decent coffee. Bring your own butter if you're like me and can't abide margarine!

    Pura Vida.

In three years of taking guys into the Gringo Gulch, I've taken 1 guy to the Balmoral. If you put the ladies name on the reservation before hand, you can check her in. I'm guessing you can slip the night auditor a $20 and he might let you take a lady up. Other than that, nope, not chica friendly.

About the butter. Better bring it from the states. It's twice as expensive here. I agree, sure is better than the local margarine.

I wouldn't stay anywhere else these days!

Did you actually stay there? If yes, how is the noise level? I had a very nice meeting with Deacon and saw some of his books.

Jenny is the bartender's name you speak of, the other is Carol.

Anyway, great people there and a great bar, but that train noise is horrendous.

Watch out for the room on the ground floor with a jacuzzi, the one with the sliding window next to the office where the girls sit. There is a jacuzzi in there but also quite a bit of mold. A prostitute refused to have sex in there because of the air quality. A new air quality standard.

I also asked about pictures of their rooms, they said they are on the website, but the pictures on the website suck, it's really hard to tell what the rooms are like.
Thank you. I don't do all-nighters so that would work for me.

    Money exchanges / hotel rates

If you want to change money in SJ, go to a bank. You will get the best rates in the banks. Just take your passport with you. There are a few banks within walking distance from Del Rey. One is right across the street from Hotel Morazan.

The one I prefer is across the street from the Gold Museum, Museo del Oro. Alternatively, you can also change money inside the casino at Hotel Morazan (better rate than inside the Del Rey).

It also had the older style TV's like room 310, and no jacuzzi. I can't imagine anyone who had payed for a penthouse not being upset if they got this room. Even if you could cook in there, why would you with the all-inclusive deal they offer.

    La Amistad Penthouse Room 310

On my last trip I stayed in one of the Penthouses at La Amistad. Room 310, it was enormous, there were two different living areas, there is a giant mirror by the bed, that my meager photography skills were unable to capture. It's not above the bed like on the ceiling, but instead its the wall above the headboard. It must be 8 to 10 feet tall. It's not a bad room, and it's not a bad deal given the price of other hotels in the area. The knocks on it are in my mind, that the advertising is deceptive, there was no jacuzzi in the room, which was a major factor in my electing to choose a penthouse, and the TV's were older tube TV's and didn't have digital inputs, which meant I couldn't hookup my GoPro to it. If you want a giant party room, this room is definitely for you. I would not want it again myself, as I didn't need an enormous room, I would have been just fine in a King size room. I will make sure next time I book at La Amsted to state that I want a Penthouse with a Jacuzzi, otherwise just give me a king size room.
