San Jose - Hotel Recommendations

Can any monger give me an idea of the Hampton Inn & Suites is anywhere close to any MP's and or clubs. Looking to go sometime in April and I know Sportsman Lodge is the best for a newbie, but since I have 1000's of points in Hilton hotels, I wanted to get the room for free for about 5 nights. Any help from experienced mongers would be appreciated. The place is on Airport Blvd and site says .4 from the "city center." (whatever that means). Thanks!

I know it's been a really long time but I was wondering if you had any luck with this post? I wanted to stay at either the Hampton Inn or Doubletree by Hilton because I too can get free nights but was wondering if the distance is too far?

An excellent report, but there are some changes or mistakes.

Best Western. Definitely not chica friendly. Corporate policy explicitly against "sex tourism"

Don Carlos Hotel. Definitely not chica friendly. Guests are almost exclusively families. I had my parents stay here when they visited me in Costa Rica.

Hostel Marruecos. Closed a long time ago.

Aurola Holiday Inn. The fine for unregistered guest is $70.

The only other thing I would say is that the Vesuvio is terribly overpriced. The walls are paper thin and in need of a serious remodeling. The rooms should be priced around $15 and not $45 or $70.

I've stayed at the Hemingway for $30 / night and it meets all of your requirements, AT. Jonesie doesn't recommend it. Says the beds are not good but they were fine for me. The breakfast was quite good. There is a busty chica who works next door at the Castillo who was a real good time. Her name is Carolina.

Some people walk from DR to wherever, but it's really not wise to do it. Why take a chance for only c1000? Also, chicas will not walk all the way from DR to LA in the middle of the night (or during the day time in those high heels).

As for see, some hotels will let you make reservation without see if you are an established client, but most will not not first time customer. That's really just a standard practice in hotel industry.

If you were creative and thought like a latino, maybe you could bribe hotel personnel such that it appeared you stayed in Hotel X while actually staying in Hotel Y. Paying for a fake invoice to submit with your travel claim, or something. Nothing is ever as it appears to be in Latin America, so think outside the box and see what you can come up with.

Hopefully someone can provide some feedback. Any issues bringing a chica for TLN?

Any action around? Clubs? If not, how far by taxi to Del Rey?

Haha, the train's impact is minimal these days. And it only affected a few of the rooms at its worst.

Yea I have only stayed there once myself and it was no issue for me. Really it's an alright hotel for San Jose.

If you want a hotel you can tell anyone you stayed at the sleeps inn chica fee is only $25. Haha. Otherwise if you don't mind a train in the morning, hotel la amistad is close by.
