Posts: 130Room choice at the Sportsmen Lodge
I will be in San Jose in October and only standard rooms at the courtyard are available, any recommendation if this should be avoided due to noise level and if not can you share your experience if loss of privacy affected your enjoyment.

Hey guys I was thinking of staying at La Amistad however I am unsure as to how awful the train is. Does it only blare once early in the morning or is it a constant thing? Is it really annoying? On a scale of 1-10 how annoying would you rate it?

Posts: 66Don't stay in a hostel. They are not chica friendly and way more awkward to bring someone back. If you want somewhere as cheap as a hostel and close to the gulch stay at the Morazon. Its like 35-45 a night and chica friendly.
The Del Rey I heard has deals on, maybe check with them as well. Hostels are a no go though from my experience.

Does anyone have information on hostels in Costa Rica. They seem really cheap and sufficient. Are any of them chica friendly? Are they walking distance to the gulch.
Thanks

Posts: 442Room ratesatDelRay and Dunn Inn
Does anyone know what room rates for 5th or 6th flooratDelRay. Small rooms, not delux.
And also How is dunn inn so far as chica fees are concerned.
If anyone has stayed at HLH, do you think HLH is better than Dunn Inn for someone who is NOT into bar / drinking etc?

Good prices for this hotel on travel sights wondered if anyone has recent info on if its girl friendly or any other things that might make it a dump that needs to be avoided cause you get what you pay for

Posts: 18Need Cheap- but Safe Place for Dental Visit
Hi,
I am planning on going to San Jose in next month for Dental work. Plan on staying a while though. 3-4 weeks, but I need a cheap but safe place to stay at first as I will likely be recuperating and doped up from meds. I would like to stay at the Sportsman or DelRay. But at first, I have to get the dental work. Haven't chose a dentist. They want $450 at the V. A. To simply extract the tooth! Any dentist recmomendations I would be grateful for.

Just an update-this is secondhand information from two independent sources I met while in San Jose==the place is chica friendly.great staff and atmosphere-the bad-from both parties was the beds were the worse-one guy described them as ancient-the other guy I talked to another day had the same complaint-
