San Jose - Hotel Recommendations

I always stay near the San Jose airport my last night in Costa Rica and typically want to have a girl over for a last farewell. Last year I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and they hassled me, was really embarrassing for both of us. I ended up checking her in, in full view of several guests / families who were waiting in line. Maybe it was my mistake, I guess I should have told them I was having a guest beforehand.

In any case ID like to skip the hassle. Anyone know a good place? Thank you.

This is not actually an answer to your question. But I've stayed at the Marriott Hotel Hacienda Belen close to the airport and it's my favorite of the hotels I've stayed at in San Jose by far. I had access to the executive lounge and that was a big part of the reason I liked it. I have no idea whether they'd hassle your guest.

Not to far from the airport in Escazu, I recommend Out of Bounds Hotel. No chica fee and very cool staff. Very discreet entrance just don't be stupid like one gringo who was pounding his tica on the balcony.

The Aloft, which is a Marriott Bonvoy property is unofficially girl friendly. No security, just whichever girl is working the check-in desk, and none of them seem to care or pay attention. You can also come in through the pool and breakfast area and go straight to the elevators, avoiding the front desk.

Interesting. I'm here now and their front desk is a circular window that can see most everything that's on. They have a line of sight to the elevator so not sure. One of the chicas I'm getting together with has been here so they must be getting by. Going to try with a girl at 7 pm as well. I'm not high volume and I've asked them to dress modestly when they get here but not sure how to pull it off. I probably should have kept the Taormina as my working girl spot but what's done is done.

My first trip coming in few weeks, anyone know if Holiday Inn Aurola is chica friendly? Also, I'm will be checking out the reopened HDL as well as Sportsmans and Taormina. Is it safe to walk alone to these 3 spots and my hotel during day and night or should I taxi? Do all 3 of these places have rooms for the girls onsite? Or do I need to bring them back to my hotel?

Certainly not chica friendly. Last I recall it was 85 dollar fee, but even with that they certainly do not want chicas in the hotel.

Walking to the places you mention is generally safe. None of those places have short term rooms. Lots of chicas but they are not in the business of short term rooms. Girls on site are totally independent.

Short term rooms are available in low priced hotels, and one not too far away called La Oficina. You would need to take a cab to get there with a chica. There used to be a couple of short term places near the Del Rey if you met a chica there, possibly they still exist, in any case the chicas will know.

I've stayed at the crown plaza corobici several times and only had one problem. Lady was dressed too trashy and drew too much attention.

Marriott / Sheraton properties girl friendly?

Upscale hotel at known mongering destinations take it seriously when you bring in different girls to your room. Usually daytime is not much of a problem because usually they have meetings, conferences etc except if they have a guard checking at the elevators. I have sneaked in some girls. If overnight I keep them in the room and order food to the room. Best bet is to ask the girl to take escalators to the meeting rooms level and you can meet them there and take the elevators. Those are usually not guarded. Nighttime security is very strict.

Unless you are going to wife up a girl and both of you check in together stay at other guests allowed hotels maybe with a small fee.

One time I sneaked in two girls one older and a young girl. They thought we are a family LOL.

Having said that make sure girls are not dressed trashy.

Last time I checked they were not and the couple that would allow it, the Chica fee is around $50-$70 USD, so not worth it IMO.

Setting up base camp next month at the Intercontinental in Escazu to keep it classy (yes, I know it's pretty far out). Which hotel downtown would be the better spot to set up for fun, SL or HDR?
