Sorry Rastaman, but I have to agree with Brazil Lover on that issue.

As a black american, and from what happend with that boat bust incident in June, I decided not to populate myself in the vicinity with too many of "us" hanging around. I didn't take offense to Brazil Lover's comments, hell I felt the same way. Dring my August trip I avoided that place [Meia Pataca] like a bad habbit. I met some dudes from NC and and Detroit and they wanted to hang out there like every day. One two times and maybe passing by was enough for me.

Things in Rio have changed. I am African American and I don't find Brazil Lover's comments offensive at all. I find them to be true. Food is more expensive and exchange is much less. Paradise ruined. The most ridiculous thing I saw on my trip earlier this month was a guy in Help Cripping! I kid you not. 40-50 years old, dressed in Dickies, Converses and had a blue flag\bandana in his left rear pocket! I spoke with the brother, he was from somewhere in the midwest. I am from L.A. After seeing that I am done with Help. The prices the girls were asking was outrageous! One guy I met and pretty much hung out with us agreed to pay a girl $R400.00 and then she told the girl I was taking the price. She comes back to me and said, "Your friend is paying her R400.00." I told her I am only giving you $R150.00 take it or leave it. She took it, but take kind of ruined the mood.

The best value I found this trip was a new apartment agency, which is really good. The website is www.copaapartments.com. Dieine is great! I rented a very spacious 3 bedroom in Leme for $100.00 per night. She picked my buddy Doc and I up from the airport for $R50.00. Great lady in her thirties who is a nice person and good looking to boot. Even her maid who was around 50 years old had a great body. Excellent service.

Brazil Lover, please PM me information on Maceio. As much as I love Rio, I need to visit somewhere less popular. I need to find a new paradise, but I'm not going back until I can converse in Portuguese with a great deal more comfort.

The damage is already done from what I have read in the PM's I receive and the e-mails I receive from my sources on the ground in RIO.

Garotas are refusing anything under $R200 because they know the benefit of their long term actions. (UNIONIZE/UAW).

Even if they need the $R200, and refuse it they stand to benefit.
Problem is not the women (supply)
Its the demand (wealthy clients)

Clients are weathier (in their head) and r dropping serious $R for 2 hrs.

The exchange rate is at record LOWS and the garota accepting price is at its record HIGHS

Not to include the black market is now closing the spread on the exchange rate.

Places are now offering BANK rates on the DOLLLAR.
The place near MAB'S is now offereing just .03 more than BANCO REAL.

BANCO REAL was offering $R2.34 , blackmarket on COPA is offering $R2.31 on the $US DOLLAR. UNREAL

Many more guys r just either refusing to walkaway either because:
1. They R just roll'in $R
2. Can't cut a deal in developing country
3. Garotas STRAIGHT BALLIN ( they R using STRAP ON'S)

The MIN wage in RIO is $R250/MO (published by Brasilian Gov't Statistics)

Someone is making the min wage for 1 month in 1 hr.

I don't mean to argue, but when I was in Rio in mid-October (so not that long ago) things were more expensive but still decent value. I stayed at a nice hotel (Parthenon Queen Elizabeth) 1 block from Centaurus at approx. $100US/night, which isn't bad. Also had some really good/great meals for low $$, including Carretao, a churrascuria in Ipanema about 2 blocks from Centaurus, that was 1 notch in quality down from Porcao but only about $13-$15US per person. Even Porcao was still good value: $60 for two people with drinks etc. Maybe things are relative. A good hotel in California is going to be $180+ and a good steak dinner for 2 with drinks will push $100-$120 depending on vino.

Also I don't dispute that prices may have gone up the past month. Just chiming in, for what its worth. I haven't tracked the exchange rate lately so that may be what you are seeing.

Re: Florida and Scandanavia both on Praca Maua in Centro. Hey guys. I was in Rio during Carnavale in 2003 and had a ball and pulled three ladies from these places. Two of the three were hot and sexy. This was street level action and because it was in Centro and away from Atlantica , selections were plenty. It was a run down neighborhood but lively. I am looking to go back to Rio in the off season (June 2006) and wonder if that area will be just as hot. Can anyone provide an update.

I also went to Help again recently. I'm glad Help is going to be closed down because it sure isn't the Help that I've read so much about in prior years. It's a joke how much the GDP's there want and the service they provide. It's going to be interesting to see how many of these girls turn to VM to turn 15R tricks when Help does finally close. 200R for short term is the minimum for the barely attractive girls (this is my taste and I would consider 98% not attractive and 2% barely attractive at Help) and this is for CBJ, little/no kissing, unenthusiastic sex, and leaving/trying to leave before the agreed time. I couldn't believe how many of the GDP's would refuse anything below 300-400R for short term with what would be most likely the terrible service that I just described. This is not just from personal experience; I watched countless others go through these refusuals for anything less than 300-400R for short term. Bye-bye Help, good riddance.

I went to Centaurus recently and other than their exchange rate being the best (2.4R/$1US), I think it's the worst terma out of the major ones. It has a lot of girls and a few hot ones (not as many as I thought there would be and not as hot as I thought they would be), but the atmosphere isn't as fun as the other termas. The girls seem much more versed and "professional", and it's too easy to see through their act to enjoy it. At the other termas there are times, you actually think the girls like you. At Centaurus, it's all an obvious act for wham, bam, thank you ma'am, and move on to the next victim. Although unlike as others have stated, I actually didn't experience anything bad with the management, they seemed respectful and professional. The girls though were extremely aggressive: wanting drinks, wanting to have their friend join, wanting to go up to the room quickly, etc. At the other termas, the girls will talk and flirt and do a lot of fore-play and wait for you to ask to go up to a room. Something else that was interesting to me was that there were a lot of Americans there and while I'm American myself, I felt they ruined the atmosphere somewhat. It just didn't seem right with so many people speaking English loudly to each other.

I just got back from my second trip to Brazil. My itinerary was Rio and Maceio.

Let me start by saying that Rio is not the value destination it once was. I was last there 2 years ago, same time of year. The difference this time was, well, remarkable.

Allow me to quickly run through the most notable changes.

-- Everything is more expensive. The hotels, the food, and yes, the women. The weakness of the dollar combined with the inflation has made Rio to be nearly as expensive as many western vacations. Food was outrageous, and the hotels were as well.

-- The girls are more mercenary. There are still some values to be had, but the expectations of the girls are largely different. Forget all-night, forget even 2 hours -- the girls want short-time, and they want a lot of money for it. R200 for 1 hour seemed their standard asking price. 2 hours wanted R250, and all nighters asked for R300+.

-- The crowd has changed. Mea Pataca now is simply overwhelmed by black americans. Guys, I have absolutely no problem with blacks, but the fact is that they completely monopolize an area because they all stay together. If there were 30 black guys in Rio, all 30 of them were at MP at the same time.

Now, on to the report..

Upon arrival in Rio, the weather was simply terrible.. Rain and wind and coldddd... This lasted about 3 days, after which the weather was wonderful.

During my 5 nights in Rio, I took only 3 girls. 2 all-nighters at R200, and one 2 hour girl for R100. These were the only bargains I could find. I absolutely was not going to pay a girl R300 in a 3rd world country. I was in Help for about an hour and decided that it is simply not a place to go.. Too expensive, too hard to talk to the girls, and the girls were too cut-throat.

Now, Maceio was a different story altogether... Guys, if you want good girls, good service, and good prices, you need to get out of Rio. Maceio is a beautiful beach city, VERY safe, and with very nice people. Hotels are cheaper, food is cheaper, and the girls are EXTREMELY cheap.

Most girls can be had for R50 for short time. I did not inquire about long-time, but I can imagine it is very affordable. Furthermore, there are strip-clubs in Centro that are even less.. R30, and that includes the room!

This is similar to my experiences with Recife. All in all, the NE is a good value... The girls are just as good looking, but there will be less english spoken.. Of course, the girls know what you want, so that is not a problem.

Anyway, that's it. For future vacations, I plan to avoid Rio. I may even avoid Brazil entirely.. All of S. America has beautiful women, not just Brazil. And you can find working girls no matter what country you go to.

I would suggest avoiding Cafe Sensoo on Ave. Princesa Isabel. It's a total rip-off joint with horrible talent. All the girls will try to get you to buy them 40R drinks and these are girls that 15R VM girls are super hot compared to. Entry is 50R and taking a girl out is a whopping 100R just for the boite. I think the whole place had one other customer there and it was obvious why. What was even more funny was one of the barely okay looking girls telling me how all terma girls are so much uglier than the girls at Sensoo. At least Barberela's actually has a couple of pretty girls, even though I would recommend avoiding Barbarela's as well, this place made me wish I had gone to Barbarela's instead. I couldn't believe they wanted to charge even more than Barbarela's with the favela talent they have.

1). I did come on to the scene 8 months ago so Lima Dizzy has a problem
with math as well as *NOT PROVIDING ACCURATE INFORMATION*, no
big deal and who cares, and what does it matter anyway when I

(From his opening statement) Lima Dizzy states, and I quote him "there was no info other then the regurgiated posts of others". ****AGAIN INACCURATE INFORMATION**** I have provided indepth reports on the Philippines and on Boca Chica in the Domincan Republic, including posting a series of pictures. I have also provided helpful insight to other mongers questions such as places to stay, where to go, security issues, transportation opportunities, nightlife, and much much more. At least I can afford to monger out and provide first hand reports, where as it is in my belief Lima Dizzy relies on reports based on what he gathers with his limited reading skills, and the what he is able to read into the pictures he sees.

2). I have been in management for over 20 years with my first job
managing a paper route and also selling fishing bait all at a very young
age.

3). I previously did live in the Philippines, and in May I was set to make it my
permanent home but the business opportunity I was pursuing fell through
at the last second. I do now have a home in Puerto Vallarta and I do have
my FM 3 residency permit for there.

4). I did enjoy a post by Junior and I made a post referencing how much I
appreciated it. As time passed and I had the opportunity to read more of
Juniors posts and what I concluded was unnecessary attacks on others, in addition to getting the impression he was just a arrogant asshole, I tried to resolve the issues I had with him, but unfortunatly he would not allow that, as he just wanted to debate and flame in a manner that was not appropriate. In time any issues I had with him were resolved in an appropriate manner.

5). Nibu made a post that I enjoyed, and again I am a very kind person who
believes in giving praise out to others when justified and I let him know
that. However.**** AGAIN Lima Dizzy**** is providing you readers with INACCURATE information about my post to Nibu as I never mentioned that I was going to monger with Nibu, or crack the mongering seen wide open in Puerto Vallarta. Since that time I have had more time to spend on the ISG reading posts and now I have come to the conclusion that Nibu is an instigator on this forum, manipulates the truth, and he does disguise himself under other alias's including Lima Busy.
