A very unique, apt observation.

At LoveStory in Sao Paulo recently, there were two girls like that. They were both model quality, standing 5'11" plus some heels, causing them to tower over my 5'10" frame on the dance floor. I apparently dressed well enough for her to float a US$200 asking price to each of us. That's $500R in a $200R world!

I told her that we could really become good friends, because there would never be any sexual tension between us at all. She seemed mildly surprised that I didn't even bother to counter, but she finished the dance and subtly moved on.

Even during our short courtship on the dance floor, it was obviously a case of smoke and mirrors. She breathed on my neck, almost kissed me a couple of times, offered some sensual, but benign, caresses, and got tremendous mileage from her pseudo-sexual moves on the dance floor. I had all of my newbie experiences from the 90's flash before my eyes, and my heart went out to that night's mark who would inevitably be standing in front of the ATM one minute, and wondering what went wrong 47 minutes later.

each night we watch her arrive, just before midnight, this girl knows how to play the game, she doesn't do a lap of the restaurant out front, she goes straight in. it would be beneath her to get picked up at the restaurant, she is after bigger fish. she is at the very top of the helpee food chain and knows her place.

once i am inside i like to just grab a beer and comment on her actions with "meus amigos", we just all love to watch her do her thing. she nearly always dances on the top stage, in front of the tables - prime real estate. as i rarely take a girl from help, there is plenty of time to just chill and observe. we have nicknamed her miss "9.5", she is almost perfect. we sort of cringe when a poorly dressed gent tries to speak to her, we know he will be walking away shaking his head just a few minutes later. politely, but firmly shot down in flames. when she is taken out, it is usually by someone sitting at a table drinking expensive drinks. although none of us have ever bothered to speak to her in detail, we know her price, she is asking and probably getting big dollars for a helpee girl.

every night i have been to help this trip, maybe 15 nights in the last 45 days, i have seen her there, she is never absent. she never gets repeat business. if she were great in bed and generally fun to be with, she would get snapped up for several nights by some wealthy gent, maybe for a week or 2 or more. there are heaps of high net worth mongers that regularly go to rio. this leads me to believe that she will charge big $ and be a 1 pop and out of there girl. in this case the fantasy is better than the realty.

the irony is, she notices us checking her out. she knows we are there all the time and know the score. she even gives us the odd wink or smile as she is passing, we do likewise but neither parties stop and dwell, a sign of begrudging respect between 2 parties with diagonally opposed objectives.

what have you heard her price is and what's the rest of the action like recently?

A good way to hedge the Brazilian currency is to invest in Brazilian stock market. Check out BZF. So far it performs very well this year.

With so much money spent in Brazil, it is time to get some back.

Actually the restaurant right next door to Don Camilio is Cabrall 1800 on Rua Bolivar. IMHO Don Camilio is the best restaurant in Copacabana.

Today the dollar is firming more against the real at 2.29,maybe we are seeing a come back.

Judging by their site the place looks fantastic.

I have only been going to Rio for 2 1/2 years, hence I am just starting to see the once really cute girls I liked on my first trip turn "less than cute" now. In fact it seems 90% of the really hot girls on my first trip, that are still around, are very average now.

For example. Sol at Centaurus. On my first trip she was one of the hottest girls there (but crap in bed). She was very arrogant, had the audacity to *tell me* to wait for her to fuck a guy and return to the boite after I merely glanced in her direction. Anyway she is still there now, she doesn't look nearly as hot and has a very burnt out attitude. She doesn't get taken to a cabine much anymore. Her career is coming to an end. Tough business..........2 years is along time as a working GDP.

Is this nostalgia musings? Well I still see GDP's in Help I know from 1997, it's sad to still see them there but I still talk to them and never take them for a night. Most times all they do is yell at me in help while I am dancing that I am a Safado. Yes it is a tough business for them and I always tell them to save their money because it will not last.

Yes cash is better now than an ATM card, I always trocar my money at Help and get a better rate but that can change. now the dollar is firming against the real today it was at 2.26 to the dollar I hope the trend continues.

I don't know if Im permitted to say this or not but I remember in the 80's if you changed your money at an official cambio then you would get more or less the official rate but everywhere there were people looking to exchange dollars for you at the black market rate for 30 to 40 percent over the official rate, it was incredable and made things so cheap. Those days may not come back as they have their inflation more or less under control. Back then I think it was about 100% a year, the currency was called Cruzieros and you would walk out after changing with a pile of bills.

The dollar was continuing its firmness today against the real at 2.28 may it continue.
