Well, I was bored yesterday, so decided to check out Vila Mimosa at the shift change. I was in RIO for two days. I invested in some property and went for business.
I visted the Famous Rio Antigo. The place has'nt changed. I thought one girl was preganant. I went to support the establishment, I met the owner last year. Bought some drinks, seen nothing I liked. But I do recommend the place.

Went to my favorite. SOLARIUM place is the best.

The Porcao in Flamengo is recommended.

It's right on the water's edge. It has a nicer sense of occasion than the one in Ipanema. My personal experience was that service and food were very good quality.

But there are more high-end places in Rio than Porcao for those who like things more formal.

Comparing meat to what you'll find in BsAs is a big ask though. Rio barbeque is fantastic, but BsAs takes it to another level.

It's an interesting point about value. My opinion is that value for money of anything is not what it used to be for us gringos, simply due to the exchange rate in Brazil.

Is it just me or is the intial taxi fee 3.70R when the meter starts? I did have one other person in the car. I have been reading reports where people mention that the trip should cost 3-4R and I don't see that possible. Was I getting ripped off? Thanks.

I just landed back home a little while ago. I will be writing a complete report in the next few days. In my opinion, the rankings:

1. Centaurus ( most quality and quantity)
2. Luomo (good musical vibe)
3. Solarium ( good musical vibe)
4 Barberelli (costly)
5. 4X4 ( too many people)
6. Monte Carlo ( downhill since Carnival)
7. Rio Antigo (still won't go home empty handed)
1000. Holiday (don't bother)

I just went to Rio during Carnival and these ranking have been turned upside down. In February, Monte Carlo was one of the best, now it was one of the least favorite. The mood and vibe in Luomo and Solarium can't be beat. The girls have fun, and they play dance and musica funky. 4X4 is a favorite among many, but for me it was just too crowded. Too many people, no place to sit. Centaurus was a favorite because of the quantity and quality. They also wear a little more clothing, and for me you can then really appreciate the girls when they are wearing pants and see how they really look with clothes on. Rio Antigo was fine, but not like the others. You should never set a foot in Holiday's. Since everyone knows the prices everywhere, I will not include them. Holiday's pricing is 30R to enter which includes 2 drinks. The house fee for the room is 50R and the girls charge 150R. That 150R can be brought down to 100R or probably even lower.(I did not bother to bargain down lower since I got up and left.) In all, no terma you can go wrong. Every terma had their "star" girls. Although many don't like Centaurus, remember you can pay the 90R fee to enter, and pay for the girl if you choose to go upstairs with one. That way you don't pay "upfront."
