I was with a GF when in Costa Rica, and couldn't do anything but admire the local talent.

I spent Thanksgiving in DR (Sosua) alone this year, and it is indeed fuck city. My eight days of posts begin in that section on December 5, and I give a detailed description of my adventures.

The only downer is that the US$ has dropped from 45 to 28 pesos over the past six months - hopefully that will level out, but you can still get a BBBJ for $25 or less - it pays to be charming and negotiate.

Guys you have got to try the Sportsmens Lodge. Cheaper than most hotels, no chica fees, great staff, very secure and beautiful accomadations. An older mansion converted and all the furnishings are brand new. Bill the owner will go out of his way to help you. And NO, there is nothing in it for me.

I have read good things about the Hotel Europa on this board, but I haven't encountered any specific info as to whether they charge a chica fee. Any info in this regard would be much appreciated.

I have been to CR many times. Really love it. I am tempted to try DR but would like to know if anyone here has been there and give me comparisons.

I know of one person who was actually satisfied with the property. I'll try it one of these times. Not exactly "taking one for the team," but all in the interest of research. It would be nice to take a DR girl to MY room once in my life!

My first time posting on here, ive read some amazing reports, wow... im am noe planing a trip to CR.

My fantasy is hiring a big boat thingy with a sweatie or two. Anyone know if this is possible and can give any recommendations on where this can be done.

I'm pretty sure the Johnson hotel goes for around $25 + $10/chica = $65 for you, $35-$45 for the rest of us mere mortals.

The website for the Nuevo Johnson hotel listed $10 per night as the rate. I've only stayed in San Jose at a $10 or so rate one time, and I wouldn't be excited to try again! I try my best to avoid any hotel that charges joiner fees.

thanks for all the help guys, gran via got back to my fax finally yesterday and i have confirmed there. i spoke with someone on the phone in the afternoon and they told me no. maybe it was a wrong number, he spoke very little english, which from past experience, seemed odd for in the city. not like in the country or say chile where no one speaks any english. i have left word for carlos at apartamentos sudamer, i do want to meet him and discuss the options of a longer stay. seems more like my speed for a longer stay with the kitchen and comforts of home, and at least a few blocks from sin city, the walk durring the day is health if nothing else, lol. im only planning on being an san jose a couple of days, then bailing to tour the country, but ive said that before and stayed a week or so.

Best Western downtown (no chica fee charged in December to one guest, anyway)
