I've been a long time reader, and am catching up on the 2005 forums. I just think we need an agregated way of listing the clubs/mps and each girl that is there and rating them, it would be great to be able to include a pic and common rate so a newb can pic and paruse based on looks and performance on their own budget.

Forget about their employment practices. The reason I don't go to ZB that much is the price. The Oasis girls were 10K/hr one week and the same girls were 17K/hr a week later at ZB. And that is if you have a CRT VIP card. what is it w/o the card, 24K? The discount is nice but I never understood why anyone would pay the non-VIP price to begin with. True the facilities are nicer at ZB than at Oasis, but 7K/hr worth? And, even beyond that, the girls that leave ZB to feelance at the BM or elsewhere, what are they asking? CIEN/HORA bargained down to 30K or perhaps gringo MP prices if you're lucky?

RE RBC's other comments on relative varying quality betweeen MP's. I've always said it is not a good idea to put all your cookies in one jar. I've noticed a tendency on this board and others for guys to extol the virtues of a particular place to the point that all the newbies reading it think that is the only place worth going. Often the flood of easy business is that establishment's undoing as they longer have to work hard to earn their reputation. Back in the CRS days, I remember when NF first opened. Before that Arte's was my favorite place though it wasn't even in the same category as NF. NF was the first real gringo-oriented MP and it had great women, great service, great facilities and got flooded with business. Then ZB opened up and guys started promoting it and suddenly it was the place to go. Business slipped at NF and as a result so did the quality of the girls. Now it may be coming back, which I think is great. One of my favoritas used to work there, though she had been absent the last few times I've been in town and I had to pass on the alternatives that were available. Now I'll definitely go back for another look. The basic point is you can go where everyone else is going and pay gringo prices to wait in line for your favorita or you can check out different places and maybe find your very own hidden gem just waiting for you

I will add my take on this debate for what it is worth. I don't have anything against Zona Blue and have been treated well there but have complained about the overpriced drinks. Of course, I don't drink many for them anyway. I only very ocasionally have a session there as I like places less or not at all frequented by gringos. They do by the way have the highest beer prices in San Jose short of maybe some clip joint strip clubs. Over recent months they have had outstanding talent after getting some of the best girls from Oasis a few months ago which raised thier talent bar a good bit. I might add Oasis has always been my favorite MP in San Jose. I have met some awesome talent there that rivals any in San Jose.

One thing I noticed last weekend was the talent at Zona Blue is slipping against the competition as New Fantasy for the first time in by history in San Jose had better talent lookswise than Zona Blue and Oasis is making a comeback from their losses with one of thier stars coming back after working at Zona Blue for a while. My theory on this is that Zona Blue is totally dependent on gringo business but places like Oasis and even more local places depend more on everyday local business. Bottom line is that the Zona Blue girls aren't getting much business when not many gringo hobbists are in town which seemed to be the case when I dropped by last week. Rbrandon(rbc100)

To your credit you do put your money where your mouth is or in this case more accurately don't put you money. You vote with your wallet. You don't like ZB and you no longer give them any business. Good for you.

It sounds like there are many other reasons why you seem to have something against ZB besides their employment policies. So you should understand why you're willingness to go there would be different from yours. As I said, I share your preference for prospecting and doing takeout and going to the less expensive tico places which allow you to do that more easily. BTW, I know what you are referring to at Kamur and agree that policy is a completely indefensible scam, but Kamur is actually one place which has posted publicly that they'd actually PREFER you to make arrangements with the girls OFF-SITE than to use their rooms. However, I also occasionally check out ZB and pay the higher fee for a slightly different MP experience and many guys prefer the safer cleaner environment, having s/t 1 hour sessions and the consistent high quality of girls at places like ZB and don't mind paying the price. They should be aware the price at ZB doesn't include poaching rights, at least not officially, and if they choose to do that should do so discretely realizing the potential consequences for the girl involved or else do their prospecting somewhere else. Those non-frat policies may seem unfair, but they ARE the rules the girls freely agreed to and if they break the rules they CAN lose their jobs. So, fair or not, I don't see how you can argue with the idea that you should be discrete if you're going to tempt a chica to risk her job.

But for the sake of an arguement..I haven't been to the ZB since shortly after Wanda left, when was that? more than a year ago I think

secondly, I don't know Eddie from a pothole in one of San Jose's streets

thirdly I don't like their (ZB) way of doing business and their treatment of the girls and don't support the notion that they operate the way they do because of how much the've got invested ......any more than I do the way Kamur charge for a "Double" (I think you know what I'm refering too)

Also, I like "prospecting". I'm not a big drinker and am quite lucid throughout the day and need more than 60 minutes to satisfy erotic needs...I enjoy walking around the city killing time, not recovering from a hangover

I guess that's why I favor RCB's take on the out of the way MP's and the pre qualifying which goes along with it.

Most of the spots I visit must not have any policy where the girls can't patronize after hours with the customers since I usually make an initial vist with the ladies there and then pay for a REAL session at the room.

Actually, the girls at VIPS Molino Rojo can leave ...got to your hotel and come back and work again that same night

And as I said in my previous post ...for me, it's a lot more enjoyable to spend a few hours or all night with the lady of my choice, than an hour at ZB with no oportunity to see the girls outside of those four walls.

Lastly, from what I read there seems to be quite a bit of turnover at ZB making me believe that the girls don't make as much as we think or they also don't like the no side work policy either.

i don't want to be in the position of defending zb's policy because i disagree with and agree with you that the amount of business if any that this ends up "stealing" from zb is most likely negligible. however, you seem to take an equally extreme position, so i feel compelled to play the devil's advocate.

first of all if you really feel as you suggest that eddie is just some exploitive white-slaver pimp, then why do you even go at all to zb? to prospect? you're putting some money into a slaver's pocket if you do and supporting the very problem that you're complaining about.

secondly, white-slavery (aka trata blanca in colombia) is a serious problem worldwide and does brings devastation to those involved. however what is happening in the mp's of cr does not compare to what we know of as white-slavery. these aren't foreign nationals lured to this country with false promises of employment in some legitimate profession only to have their passports confirep001ed and forced to work to pay off inflated "handling charges". they aren't locked in the mp at night or forced to work there during the day. just like the independents at the hdr/bm the mp chicas chose to work where they do and they have alternatives.

third, pimping is a slightly different matter. it is illegal in cr so that women are not exploited and guys do not profiteer unfairly from their services (or sometimes, as in the infamous monge case, other women). these mp's operate openly so apparently they must satisfy the legal requiements. is it pimping? that is certainly debatable. is it illegal? apparently not.

fourth, eddie is not just freely skimming money that is really earned by the girls. he has invested a lot of money into the physical plant by providing session rooms w/showers, steamrooms, sauna, bar, internet access etc. in short, a pleasant secure and clean environment for guys to comfortably select chicas and enjoy her company without having to take her back to their hotel. he also provides recourse if the session turns out badly and in fact minimizes that risk by preselecting and only retaining those chicas that provide decent sessions. you can take your luck with the crapshoot at the bm or you can spend half your night prequalifying the chicas you meet there or you can go to zb walk in make a pick within minutes if not seconds and be fairly sure you'll have a good session. in order to do this, eddie also has to spend for advertising, utilities, salaries for non-service staff (cleaning, reception, security, etc), insurance, taxes, permits and fees. he didn't do all that just to break even either and he didn't do it to provide an introdcution service so that both parties can take advantage of it and bypass him on all future dates. he has a right to expect to turn a reasonable profit and do whatever he can reasonably do to maximize that profit. you can debate what any of that is really worth to you, but those cost factors exist. we don't set the price and if we don't like the terms we can go elsewhere.

the zb girls are explained the rules when they accept employment there. whether you or i or them think the rules are unreasonable is besides the point. they agreed to them. if they get caught breaking them, then they have to accept any consequences. no one held a gun to their head when they agreed to the rules in order to work there. like any other girl they were free to choose whether to work there or at some other more lax mp or to freelance at the bm or to get a more mainstream but lower paying job. they chose zb.

many girls actually prefer the mp's because its in a protected environment, they can more easily hide what they do from others, they don't have to go up and proposition strange men and they are provided a steady stream of customers, just to name a few of the reasons. some girls may want to have the best of both worlds a steady income during the day and the ability to cherry pick clients without having to go to the infamous and highly competitive hdr/bm. well, unfortunately in this world you can't always have your cake and eat it too.

i agree that this policy is problematic, but i think eddie is a good guy who runs a class operation. .

sorry fellas, but this is a problem. you're either not rep001ing the line of being a pimp and strong-arming your employees to not do any side work at the risk of losing their job, or you're a"good guy" and futhermore if you/we support this behavior just what does this say about you.

i'm sure you've seen/read the reports about sex slavery in and around the world and in the us and the devistation that is has caused to the families involved.

personally, i think the zb policy is a kin to this ... especially since it's an american operation taking advantage of the situation in costa rica.

as far as i know, and i've been to many places around san jose, none of the tico/tica places have or enforce this kind of policy.

get real, do you really think a few girls visiting your room after hours is going to impact zb business or is this just another ugly american taking advantage of a situation and force feeding it down the throuts of unsuspecting gringos.

this isn't someone trying to reinvent another microsoft!

these ladies are not trying to put zb out of business or steal their customers...they are just trying to put a few extra bucks on the table (which is probably quite sparce at best) during a time when they're not not working at zb and most probably zb is closed and we are looking for company for shopping, dinner, a couple of drinks and.....well, you know the rest.

in the blue collar world which i'm familiar with, weekend, night and side work is always accepted (plumbers, painters, lawn care, carpenters etc). just be to work, ready to go on monday.


in a word.. the zb policy is wrong on many levels

I have found most MP's to be really uptight about their girls working outside the place.best thing is to be discrete never post names or pictures and limit details to protect the ladies jobs.On the outher hand most of the night time places seem to make no big deal about sessions out of the club outside of work hours with girls ofen giving you their phone no's right in the bars.

Exactly, Jetset. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with a girl making some extra money on the side or for me to want to see her outside of the MP setting, particularly if she worksher full shift and I continue to give that MP business at other times. And I never said I didn't myself often go fishing this way at various MPs and nightclubs (I won't publicly say whether I've done that or not at ZB though). Just don't do anything really stupid like loudly asking a girl for her number or running out of the room after the session asking everyone if they have a pen and a piece of paper so you can write it down. Try to at least be a little discrete. Right or wrong in some places like ZB, a girl can lose her job if management gets wind of it.

OTOH, I do understand Eddies perspective if the girl moonlighting means losing business he would otherwise have gotten. If you were a business owner how would you feel if one of your employees not only went into business in competition with you but stole your customers that she had met through you in order to do it? That sort of thing has always been grounds for dismissal in every place I've ever worked. In fact, in some places it is necessary to sign a non-compete clause at the time of employment which precludes going into competition with a company even after one leaves their employ. Those girls agreed to those terms when they signed on at ZB.

However,like 2666 has said practically speaking I don't see what Eddie can really rightly do about it assuming he even finds out without stepping over an already shaky moral/legal barrier. Is he getting paid for renting rooms and passing on to the chica her share of the total fee or is he really collecting money from gringos so they can have sex with those chicas and in turn paying those chicas for that? It may skirt the law but it sounds suspiciously close to pimping which is illegal. So how bad is it to for any of us to cut out the middle man?

Chase Star is not defending Zona Blue's policy, he is just saying to be "extremely discrete." Good advice, because I don't think any of us want to cost any ZB lady their job. I agree that this policy is problematic, but I think Eddie is a good guy who runs a class operation. By the way, I used to work as a room service waiter for a major hotel chain in the U.S., and they had a similar policy: no fraternization with guests, on or off hotel grounds.

Sorry Chase but these "RULES" are ridiculous if not illegal. It boarders on pimping on the part of Zona Blue.

These girls have the right to do what they please after working and a little side job of visiting my or your hotel falls into this area.

If ZB is strong-arming the girls to work in fear of losing their jobs then that becomes a BIG problem in my opinion.

Furthermore, there is plenty of work outside of the Gringo driven MP's and the girls who work outside them can make more or as much, in a couple of hours in our hotels than they make all day at ZB and depend on a bit of extra hour work.

And, back when I once frequented ZB, during the days of Wanda and until a a few months ago, quite a number of girls came to my room and no one seemed the wiser.
