Sao Paulo is also very good for non-pro action. The regular bar scene is the most various and IMO the best in Brasil.
Here is a list of my personnal favorites bars ; those are good, friendly and trendy non-pro places, most with live music, often packed with hot and approachable middle/upper class regular girls aged 20-35, where "paquerar" is quite easy :
O Trago Casual Bar - Pinheiros
Azucar - Itaim Bibi (one of my fav)
Armazem da Vila - Pinheiros
Nias 2 - Itaim Bibi
Forro Remelexo - Pinheiros
Corleonne Bar - Vila Olimpia
Dublin - Vila Olimpia
Canto da Ema - Pinheiros
Santa Faria - Itaim Bibi
Espaco urbano - Pinheiros
A Marcenaria - Pinheiros
All Blacks - Jardins
Danado de Bom - Pinheiros
Rey Castro - Vila Olimpia
Luss Club -Itaim Bibi
Bar Mangeira - Pinheiros
Manifesto - Itaim Bibi
Except for a few good spots like Rey Castro or Dublin, I avoid Vila Olimpia district, filled with an arrogant and snobish teenage crowd. Itaim Bibi is THE place to be, with some of the best spots, yet Pinheiros is my favorite bairro to hang out, with a very particular laid-back and easygoing atmosphere. Anyhow there's hundreds other good bars to discover in SP. This city is really too big.

I stayed at the old Mercure Downtown hotel now http://www.atlantica-hotels.com/atlantica/ Atlantica downtown. Same rate about R119, still very guest friendly, no charge and didn't even insist on having the girl sign in.

Posts: 2567Good Hotel in Sao Paulo
First of all some information on Hotels in Sao Paulo.
You can by very cheap a good four star hotel in Sao Paulo. It’s Estanplaza Paulista in Alameida Jau, just a couple of blocks from Avenida Paulista.
The price on www.expedia.com is not more than 80 USD (including all fees, 70 USD advertised) and you get a real big king size bed room (and bed), with a beautiful sofa, fridge (full of soft drinks and beer), and a wonderful Brazilian breakfast (not the same every morning) with instant made eggs (fried, omelette or whatever) several types of fruit, cheese, and so on, is included.
Not last the douche is a real one. You can get in at least with two teens from Sao Paulo (!)
The most interesting is that the hotel is very Girl Friendly… no hassle, just a registration and NO SURCHARGE….
My extras (an important part of the bill) for: some local calls to mobiles, three beers a Caipirinha and a Cahacha at the hotel bar; a Guaranà, 6-7 beers and some water in the room. Total was not more than 52 R$, meaning approx. 23 USD.
The hotel has always some taxi parked in front and even if you do not have al lot of alcoholic beverage in the fridge nobody makes problems if you buy them in some store in the area (you just find 3-4 in a two block area). It’s even very near (one block) to the Intercontinental Hotel.
By the way a block in this Sao Paulo area means 45 seconds of walking, not more…
I enclose a couple of pics of my room.

First of all, I can certify that she speaks English (and Italian and German I believe). I was told that she even teaches English. I met her in a private party last month (September 9th) at the bar Moça Bonita.
Secondly, even if I didn't have a session with her, I can tell you that she received a perfect score on the GP Guia forum: her ITD is 10!
I saw her in person. She is good looking (but not my type. She looks to european to my taste) and she have a nice personality.
I've heard that Elektra speaks English.

Even if I had a session with her (an amazing one!) I cannot certify if she speaks English fluently. However, I was told that she does.

Hey man,
I am thinking of spending the entire month of May in SP, part work and part play. I have been to Brazil twice, but only Rio and Salvadaor. Where would you recommend. Most of the i-banks I am talking too are on Av. Paulista, which is I dont know where, and I am a big. black city slicker, but I hear SP is on another level, meaning you can get capped pretty f*cking fast if you are caught slippin'
And I obviously wanna be close to the pro and non-pro action. I am trying to nail every recepcionista I meet =P
Holler at me PM if you know of any good aparta-hotels in some of the good areas you mentioned.

Pro,
I think you ask a good question. A frequent statement on this section, and many others, is that "when a good directory is written it gets pushed down to page 35" on the thread and is "effectively lost" for all but the most inquisitive. The Bubbaboy reports on Rio are a good example.
In response to a number of private messages from other posters, I asked Jackson to create a separate directory for SP, and several other major locations, since many of the board members don't have time to search down 35 levels in the posts.
With respect to using a compilation of information from other sources and keeping them free of commentary, I have always found that reading is a good way to acquire the value or essence of other's life experiences when they are generous enough to share them. Having received value from reading the works of other posters, it is only fair to give them credit for their work by naming them in the new document, attribution. While I feel that using foot notes would be over the top, I do mention the name of the poster so that an astute reader could pull the posts of that reader, using the web site search tools, and further enhance their understanding of the entire works of the author.
Having been to SP, and had the pleasure of meeting several members that are regular posters, I verified most of the data that I had collected, and then published so that others could benefit from my research. Kind of like reading the letters to and from Roman soldiers on Hadrian’s Wall, then writing a book about what it must have been like using them and many other sources. Fortunately, I don't need a time travel machine to visit SP, just more cash and time. Having verified the data on the ground, does not make me the original author, so I decided to leave the attributions on the document.
As to how to package 30 links to escort sites in SP, I am open to any suggestions that would make it more informative. If you can ferret through all of the SP listings and send me the post numbers that rate each escort service we can hot link them to the same lines as the web sites.
IMHO I think that your postings were a plus for the directory section, searching for an individual address of a business should probably reside where it has always been which is in the SP 2005 section. I believe that the same people read both sections and that the Q&A is already handled effectively in the 2005 area. Otherwise, fine posts like yours will get pushed out of sight and lost.
If you have the time to expand your post on the beaches to: where to stay, where to eat, where to hang out, how to get there, where the GDPs are and any volunteers, I know that I would like to read it in preparation for my next trip since I am interested in this area. The contact information for your recommendations along with pricing would be great.
If you could take one of the SP neighborhoods that you like and expand your post to include your favorite places with contact info, I am sure others would benefit from your experiences.

Posts: 2306"lets use this area for lists or directories and the old SP area for the Q&A so that the directories don't get lost."
Pluto.
Can you tell me where we've 'got lost' here ?
A helpful Sao Paulo directory is IMO not only a soulless storage of P4P adresses, lists of +/- accurate porn internet sites and amalgams of cut'n pasts from other members reports.
It's also tips and recommandations on food, accommodation, transportation, entertainment, sightseing, direction, weekend destinations, ect ..., and the inevitable Q&A that it brings.

Rua Gomes de Carvalho 416. Vila Olimpia.
Vila Olimpia is delimited by av Sto Amaro and av Pres Kubitschek. It's considered as being the same district as Itaim Bibi.

Where to stay in SP (without considering the proximity of such or such P4P spot) can be a real dilemma for newbies.
There's in Sao Paulo a few pleasant districts which are on a refreshingly human scale compared to most other parts of town, like Jardim, Moema, Itaim, or Pinheiros, which is an unpretentious and lively neighbourhood, with a particular laidback atmosphere. Those are the most pleasant bairros in town, and anyone who stay there can't be wrong with the location.
Also, for some nice weekends out of town, many people forget that the Sao Paulo state has some VERY nice beaches, among the best in the country. The Litoral Norte beaches like Guaruja, Camburi, Mariesas, Ubatuba, Juquei, or Ilha Bela are where the high-class Paulistas spend their weekends. It's beautiful, trendy, very lively and nightlife is great on Dec, Jan and Feb.
The Costa Sul of the state (Santos) is polluted, ugly, dirty and packed with low-class vacationers.
