Folks, thought I share my recent Angeles city experience. I found a girl on a dating site who I messaged with and agreed to meet when I come to AC. Later in that night this girl starts frantically calling me telling me that her cousin, who turns out to be minor is threatening to go to the police saying I had sex with her and she is currently held by the police but she can protect both of us if I come and pay some money as bride to the cops (just a small amount as apparently she was friends with the cops).

I made up some excuse and told her I am currently outside Angeles and that it will take me at least two hours to get to my hotel. In the meantime I dash to the hotel, pack up everything, call a cab to the Manila airport and book a one way flight out of the country for a flight scheduled to leave 4 hours later. All this while she is texting me telling me how she is in a safe house now and she will be jailed in the morning etc etc and I kept telling her I am on my way.

Thankfully I reached the airport and left the country, safe, without paying any money.

She still continues to message me saying she will "tell everything to the judge" unless I pay her the money. She oscillates between threats and beggary to convince me to pay. I am obviously not going to pay anything.

I am considering consulting a lawyer in Manila just to be safe In case they have in fact filed a case against me. I want the lawyer to verify this for my own peace of mind. If on the odd chance that they have filed a bogus claim just to scare me more, doesn't hurt to have a lawyer.

If any of you know a good lawyer in Manila, please DM me.

If you did not have sex with the minor I don't see what you have to worry about. If you did not have sex with the minor then you know its a scam and they know its a scam. If that's the case then why on earth do you need a lawyer? At financial expense and loss of entertainment to yourself you evaded the scammers by fleeing the country; when they come to that realization they will just look for another victim.

There is absolutely no requirement to hunt on dating sites for hookers when in AC. Sure it might be mildly exciting "dating" a hooker, but why take the risk? Hiring a lawyer in Manila to investigate and confirm the presence or absence of a police complaint against you is potentially more dangerous. The lawyer could put on on some of a drip plan to fund his next Christmas present for his wife. IMFITP.

For ease and spare no pesos I would take the Genesis bus all the way to Terminal 3. Then taxi in to P Burgos. Tell the taxi driver to use the skyway and pay the additional 45 pesos to save time and traffic.

I usually depend Genesis bus. And was hassle free so far. It was my orginal plan. So sticking on it. Thanks for reinforcing my plan Dg.
