Traveling to Manila airport on the same day of your international flight carries some risk and undue stress. I did that once with a private car and nearly made it.

I never said I was catching a 6 pm plane. I arrived at SM Clark Angeles 2. 45 pm for a 3 pm Genesis bus to catch a flight in Manila scheduled to depart at 8 pm.

Unknown, and lucky for me, bad weather delayed the arrival of my plane, and delayed its departure = I did not miss my flight.

No thanks to slack Genesis who's propaganda "departing every hour on the hour" is just that, propaganda only.

First time I used Genesis and last time.

Just a couple of days ago, I arrived at Angeles SM, 2.45 pm to catch a 3 pm bus to Terminal 3 Manila. As Genesis are won't to say repeatedly "Every hour on the hour".

3 pm came and no bus. 4 pm came and no bus. It arrived at 4.35 pm. I am now, in an anticipated 2-3 HR trip, 1. 35 hrs behind schedule to catch an overseas flight.

1.45 pm into the trip I asked bus driver, how much longer before we get to Terminal 3. He said with a smile "45 minutes". I said if I miss my overseas flight I will have to spend 1,200 dollars for a new ticket and new departure. He did not give a shit.

Bad weather prevented my plane from landing on time and departing on time. Saved my skin, but not Genesis. I asked him "what happened to the 3 pm, the 4 pm buses. He was silent, no answer to that.

"Its the Philippines" is the typical response. Phils has a talent for being unreliable. Watch out, when catching international flights out of the country!

Like E, I too could not believe what I was reading. This is sentimental BS of the highest order. Parasitic behaviour is not admirable at all. I think that applies to Asian families generally.

It applies to traditional families in traditional societies in general. Social pathologies emerge from imbalances and unequal distributions of wealth and resources, such as resulting from American colonialism (in Philippines) or slavery in America that degraded entire races and made them degenerate, not that individuals in these societies are blameless, nor that an individual can't succeed (raise hisself up) but the parallels between blakmericans and Filipinos is pretty obvious.

Not just Asians. I grew up around Italian families and they often had 3 or more generations in the one house. I must say I saw no free loaders with even the elderly expected do as much as they were able to help around the house.

Blame is often heaped upon the pina girl or Philippine society in general but if a distant cousin offered to build me a house and pay me a living wage for doing nothing then I'd be accepting it as well. No surprise at all. The key is getting a chick that you don't need to give money to, whether she is educated or not. I have had plenty of poor chicks that I did not have to slip money to. Of course, you are both correct but there is one thing that is always missing from the mindless sluut vs princess discussion. Despite what they say, those commenting are always only talking about the girls that they meet.
It comes as no surprise that guys that only meet girls in bars or online hookup sites express a derogatory view while guys that meet educated and basically decent girls are complementary. There is also the grey area in between where guys recognize that some girls are great for an hour's fun while others may be suitable for a longer commitment.
