If you have been to the Phils you can easily spot the instances where guys say $250 - 350 for an appetiser when you know they mean P250 - 350.

However, for newbies, when dollars and pesos are confused they might wonder at some prices quoted (an AC ride in a bus costing $600 in one post and P 2000 for a car/taxi in another one).

I respectfully suggest that you use the $ sign only when you actually mean dollars (US), and use P or php when you mean pesos.

BTW, with the rather large current difference between the USD and the Aussie dollar (AUD), it might help to look for differentiation between those currencies too if you are running on a tight budget and looking for accurate costings.
Point taken, but does anyone really think someone would pay 250 US dollars for a meal in Angeles, it's all about the pussy, man.

$ versus Php or just P

    Easter in Angeles

To get off the fine food restaurants subject, I ponder the following, and wonder if someone has an answer.

Commonly we are told the girls leave Angeles and go home to their provinces to enjoy family reunion during this important religious time, Easter.

Was anyone in Angeles during Easter and did they experience a lack of girls because of the much talked about exodus of girls during Easter?

I thought Easter would be an exciting time to be in Angeles. Is this so, or is it best to avoid Angeles and Philippines during Easter?

    Any response much appreciated.

These are restaurants that come to mind that I have been to that had pretty good food.

Bretto's Prestige located ground floor in Tune Hotel building. Most items in P350 range. Has a great thin crust Hawaiian pizza.

Clarkton Hotel has a nice restaurant inside the ground floor. I can't remember what I ate but it was good and around P350.

ABC Hotel has a nice restaurant. I think there are some items in the P350 range but most of it is higher.

You can walk to ABC from Fields, short Jeepney ride to Bretto's or Clarkton.

There are a couple of clean restaurants not located in hotels that I have had good meals. Fortunes Hong Kong Seafood restaurant on MacArthur. Short walk from Fields, turn right at McDonalds to MacArthur and walk a few blocks and it is on your right side. There is Cafe "D" on Teodoro Street. Manson Drugs is at Teodoro and Fields next to 7-11, just walk down Manson side of Teodoro (opposite of going to Jollibee) a few blocks (past Bliss Massage) and it is on your right side. Fortunes is P350+ and Cafe "D" is <P300.

Thanks for your input. I guess we are not there for the fine cuisine just fine women.

There's an okay Indian restaurant next to Phillies Sport Bar, down the side road. Also a cheap Middle Eastern Restaurant (The Red Sea) down by where Blue Nile once was (McD end of Fields).

You can lead a horse to water

I met up with Dashing Don last night and squired him around town. Once again, I tried to tell him about tipping, or lack thereof. What does he do? He starts by tipping twenty percent in the restaurants. If that were not bad enough I took him to Pony Tails and pointed out the white tagged girls are every bit as nice as the green tags. For once he listened to me and bar fined a white tagged girl for 2 k. This morning I meet up with him for breakfast at Margarita Station. Even though I told him the customary tip is 100 pesos he actually bragged to me he tipped her 1000 pesos. I'm beginning to think he is doing this just to [CodeWord140] me off.

You can try the restaurant at the Swiss Chalet Hotel and the Tequila Reef restaurant. Those two places are near the corner of Santos Street and Real Street. Both are reasonably priced and recommended.

    Ahleah massage

The heart of Santos Street ST bars seems to have been ripped out. I only spotted 2 down there now. A lame looking Black Pearl, and Perfect Life. Better looking choices. Excluding the 1-girl bar on the corner of Pac Brz.

So I wonder if anyone knows of any others down Fields (except for Raymonde St ones)? Also, anyone know anything about Ahleah Massage (opp Pac Brz Hotel) - would be handy if the do STs. Or Honky Tonk Bar?

ABC hotel has decent food. Also you can take a trike to SM Mall where there are more choices, the Pizza Hut there is pretty good.

    Heads UP Hurricane Maysak

A massive hurricane called "Maysak" just past Micronesia and will most likely hit Northern Philippines on Sunday. Current forecast has "Maysak" strengthening tomorrow but then weakening before hitting the Philippines on Sunday April 5th.
