Thanks for turning me on to Diamanda Galas. I can't believe I never heard of her before. I will be listening to her music in the next few weeks. She is an original.

    Guys,

    Just two short questions:

1- is the Tune Hotel in Angeles girl-friendly? Any problems / experiences?

    2. How big are the rooms? I have been to the Tune Hotel at the LCCT in KL. These rooms were so small. You could hardly turn around. So I would like to know how big they are in Angeles.

    Thanks for any reply.

B in fact actually is 19 years old, an adult, and gave full consent. However assume the next day she is claiming that she was "forced" to work at Club X. A is then arrested for having sex with a "trafficked victim", held w / o bail, and if he is older could effectively be facing life in prison.
There are a ton of reason why they would not do this. Once word got out that "The customers" are being busted. It would scare off the casual players too. Hurting tourism PI wide big time.

1st they would have to prove you bar fined the girl for sex. And it wasn't of her own free will. After all there is no 'Bar fine". The bar owner are going to incriminate themselves to say you did. They will say no. So there is no proof against the customer. They would need a undercover cop poising as a bar girl. So she could testify you specifically ask / paid for sex.

Secondly. Legitimate Business men have meetings / conferences in Manila. Where women company (wink wink) is apart. The guys who come to dive. But also do.

These are not mongers, but they do come to the PI in part becos they can partake of girls along with their main interest.

The would scare off these types of tourist too. As they would be scared if they partied with a girl the same could happen to them. Word would spread like wild fire.

Bar fine a girl in PI and you get 20yrs. It would dramatically reduce tourism especially men.

Employees of the bar are fair game. But, that is why in no raids in the country have they busted customers for "Bar girls". And never will.

Blah, blah, blah. All the bars that were closed are back up and running. (OEW which was voluntarily closed will be back up soon.) It has been 10 days or longer since the last raid. Girls are being barfined. Guys in AC are ALL, I repeat, ALL reporting that they are having good times. Only a handful of bars were raided. No farang customer was ever arrested during this crackdown. And still you drone on and on with all this end of the world paranoia crap. (Hillary Clinton is coming to get us and lock us up forever. OMG! What can I do?) What the fuck is your problem, dude? These crackdown/bar raids have become regularly recurring events every rainy season for at least the last 3 years. It is all about shaking the money tree. I am sure they will occur again next year.

But thanks, W for your input. You have been a great help spreading your paranoia. But, you and Mcob have succeeded in one thing. You have had a chilling effect on the flow of information relating to our favorite hobby on this thread. Your presence here has thoroughly discouraged BM’s like myself from posting trip reports mentioning favorite bars along with favorite bar girls.

The situation is very high risk

If the Philippines would merely clarify what the actual law is, and how it would be enforced, then Fields could perhaps return to some level of semi normal, but that does not seem likely now.

The extreme danger here comes from the fact there are now vested interests in position to make large amounts of dollars on all the contracts and rebuilding and so forth should the USA reestablish those bases, and they could bribe bar girls to set targets up. These same vested interests would like nothing better than seeing Fields Ave take a major hit, enough that it would impress State and kick start those dollar inflows.

Nor can A (now in prison) expect any help from the western MSM, and for example ABC's Nightline will be painting him as a "trafficking" monster of some type, and the very source of the entire problem, visiting the Phliippines to seek young women for P4P. The american public meanwhile will swallow it lock, stock, and barrel.

The situation is actually worse than I've described because the laws are now so vague, its not even clear whether a bar girl has to say she was "forced", as her mere presence working in such a bar could itself be deemed sufficient to support of claim of "[CodeWord908]"

This could be a perfect storm, a confluence of events all coming together at one place and time, and could be the most dangerous mongering situation in the world right now outside of North Korea, Afghanistan, and other extreme muslim countries.

Tune Hotels are the same everywhere. Small rooms, a charge for each amenity wanted.

That is their concept. Their target market is the "short stay / layover" types really.

ALL Hotels in AC are girl friendly.

    2012 (Expanded) Anti Trafficking Act

    http://www.investphilippines.info/ar...rafficking-in.

This is the (Expanded) Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012 (RA 10364) passed last year, and apparently written by Hillary Clinton's State Dept and forced upon the Philippines, and now State is dictating to the Philippines that they start enforcing it. Basically "[CodeWord908]" is so broadly defined in this Act, it can virtually include anything.

    From Dept of Tourism:

    - Tourism represents only 7% of the Philippines economy (The Government wants it increased to 11% by 2016, and is hoping the 'It's More Fun. Program will yield that increase)

    - There were 4. 27M international arrivals in 2012

    - 1. 2M were unaccompanied foreign males (including those on business trips)

    - 3. 07M were 'couples' arriving as part of a group (single females was an insignificant group)

    - South Koreans represent 25% of all foreign arrivals.

    - 37. 5M domestic airline trips were made in 2012.

    - The domestic tourism sector is seen as 6 times larger than the international sector (for example. 60% of tourists in Boracay were locals)

    - Foreigners stay an average 9 days in the country.

    - Kababayans (returning overseas residents) and other locals stay in holiday destinations on average 19 days.

    - 90% of arrivals in the Philippines arrive through NAIA in Manila.

The Department of Tourism wants to move visitors more easily away from Manila, Cebu and Davao to other parts of the country by better domestic air connectivity.

Philippines tourism depends very heavily on LOCAL DOMESTIC TOURISM. It represents by far the biggest component of the Philippines tourism industry although clearly there is a desire to encourage more international arrivals as stated above. Hotels encourage locals with discounts because they form such a huge proportion of the travelling population. Rather surprisingly, as shown above. 60% of the visitors to Boracay are LOCALS.

Given that only 7% of the economy derives from tourism, then clearly the economy of AC as a sub-component of that is a very minor part of the national scene. Nobody will take much notice of any factors impacting on the AC economy as it is a mere blip on the Philippines scene, so attempts to close bars or remove the bar scene etc is generally seen as a local 'turf-war 'battle. AC is my least-favored place in the Philippines and I am probably part of the huge majority of people here who are not directly concerned with what is happening in this tiny corner of the Philippines.

I think that placing AC in some sort of pivotal position on the battleground in the global fight against prostitution is grossly exaggerating ACs importance. To imagine that a former First Lady is even remotely interested in anything happening in AC is somewhat absurd.

Just my humble opinion as always.

Your point is well made, and the tourism numbers to the Philippines are not fantastic see the link below. Many prefer to go elsewhere.

    http://www.philstar.com/headlines/20...southeast-asia

Basically AC is a pimple on the backside of en elephant and many don't care unless they lose some income from it. Is the same anywhere in the world with small town politics. Its importance (current and past) IMHO is due to the proximity of the US military bases of the past (and likely in the future if the press is to be believed). Go there and see the number of ex vets etc...
    WC (Fields) haha, couldn't resist

From where I stand the anti prostitution efforts are coming from the newly twisted radical left Democratic Party. I was a proud Demo for 56 yrs. Of my life but no more, the party has changed from a middle left party to a radical politically correct party. They are behind the current pressure on p4p in the PI. The news media, movie media, the IJM (Bill Gates / Hillary Clinton) are pushing the [CodeWord908] terminology in order to get more traction and impact on the gullible US public. The new dems have taken all the dirty tricks the Republicans used the last 50 years and improved on them. In my town if you get caught hiring a hooker you can go to,"John School" to get the ticket removed from your record. The John School is run by ex-hooker's who hate men and sex and indoctrinate their beliefs on sex and morality. According to them, consensual adults should not have the right to enter into a sexual agreement. Men are evil for wanting to pay for sex, etc. Etc. These people who support John School are Democrats. They're the sick ones and the media supports this shit. It is unbelievable and truly repressive here in California because of the (invincible / dirty trick) ruling party (the dems). This is how I see it and I have no stake in Dem vs. Rep. I would rather still be a Dem but I still (and always will) have principals.

Also best to you WC, hoping to return to PI next Feb if I am still allowed free travel.

Her new hair style, new bar, different style of clothing all made her look quite different but once the memory was triggered I laughed.

Which made me realise it is a much smaller town than I thought.

Then thinking about the parade of girls that go through the ABC Hotel foyer, the doormen are so discrete and don't 'recognise' them, the receptionists avert their eyes, meanwhile all the time knowing that they must see the same girls each week or two. Its not that Angeles is a small town. It's that most Westerns / Mongers limited their stay to the 2 mile stretch of "Fields" and Perimeter.

So after several times of going to places with in that boundary. I appears to be a small town. And everyone knows you.

There is a lot more to Angeles than Fields. That area is just a blimp of AC.

Take a trip down MacArthur Hwy into the city area. See if anyone calls your name then.

Foreign tourists usually stay in large multi-national chain hotels with less effect on the local scene except for the employment of locals within the hotel service sector as low-level cleaners, room attendants and chefs.
    That makes sense.
