My main girl in PI is from AC. I have been dealing with her over 3 years. She has never been out of AC. I wanted to take her to Bohol next February but due to medical reasons she does not want to come and told me to find someone else to take. (So I will be going with my girl in Manila.) She has never asked me for anything. Over the 3 years I have given her maybe 5000 pesos, and 2000 of those were just last month.

I finally went to her house. We left SM Clark in the jeepney (8. 50 pesos each). On the way she had to stop by the store to buy some organic vinegar that helps her with her stomach (some kind of gastro medical condition). We went to the grocery store inside of Nepo mall in downtown AC. That was my first time ever leaving the Fields / Clark area and it was nothing pretty! Pollution and traffic. Going to Nepo really opened my eyes on the true prices of things in PI. Let's just say if you are giving chicks 2000 and 3000 pesos for a session then you are getting ripped off. I think my girl said she pays 2000/ month to rent her house. Anyway, she got the vinegar which was about 250 pesos. When we got to the checkout counter there was a guy in front of us buying the same damn vinegar. He said it helps with his cough. (Later on in the day a group that I am in on fb back in the States was talking about the same damn vinegar.) Before this day I had never even heard of the stuff and in one day I hear of it out of the blue 3 times from different sources. I gave her 1000 pesos to buy the vinegar. She tried to give me the change back. I told her to keep it.

We went around the mall and she was looking for a dress to buy with the money. We went into several stores and saw some nice ass dresses, but when they told her the price of 600 pesos she was like that is too much and we were out the door. I saw clothes for like 100 and 200 pesos. I was thinking damn if you gave some chick 2000 pesos on an overnight then she could go on a serious shopping spree. Even at Pizza Hut they had some kind of deal: 2 slices of pizza and a drink for 50 pesos. We left the mall empty handed and she tracked down her cousins husband who has the nicest trike I have ever seen.

He stopped us by a pizza place where my girl bought 3 pizzas for 200 pesos for her 2 kids (15 year old daughter & 8 year old son who actually works as a house boy), nephews, nieces, and cousins. Then we went to the house. I was shocked to find out that nobody I met in her neighborhood spoke English. Here I was thinking that everyone in the Philippines spoke English, but none of her family or neighbors did. I had fun playing with the kids and as it started to get dark we decided to head back to the hotel. We went to the main street to get a jeepney but each one that passed were already full. I told her F that, let's get a trike. She said it was going to be about 120 in the trike.

I sat inside holding her purse and my girl sat on the bike. Right before turning on Perimeter we were stopped in front of a grocery store. A girl holding a baby came up to me begging. I tried to hand her my girl's entire purse, but she would not take it. She kept her hand out for money. I told her to go around and ask my girl because she had all the money. She refused. Later I asked my girl why she would not take the purse or ask her for money. She said because I am a foreigner. They are not going to beg from a local.

Later that night my girl said she wanted to go see what the gogos are like. I'm not a gogo guy. I told her how boring they are to me, but what the hell for her experience. We went to La Bamba because my brother had recommended it. He said the night before that he had gone and had a ball and met some guys who kept buying him drinks and wanted him to hang out and bar hop with them. There were some nice girls in there. I pointed out to my girl the ones I liked the best and she told me which ones she thought were the best. She asked me why the girls were not dancing, but just standing on stage rocking to the music. I told her that I didn't know and to ask the waitress. She asked, but the waitress just blew her off. I was falling asleep in the gogo so my girl said we could go back to the room.

The next day before she left I gave her 1000 pesos. I had to get ready to go back to Thailand.

One additional suggestion. Wear clothes with secure pockets. Such as multiple buttons or Velcro. And if you discover a hand in your pocket, don't lash out at the culprit. He, or his mates may attack you - possibly with a knife. Just be firm and polite.

Always be alert and aware of your surroundings.

Obvious "bling" will get NOTICED.

Flashing wads of cash will get NOTICED.

It is close to Christmas and everyone can expect that this sort of behavior will likely increase.

Lots of good info here. Muggings can happen anywhere and any time BUT, isolated or deserted streets are the worst place to be and your odds of having trouble go way up.

I have heard of guys getting shot for not handing over a watch or a chain in Medellin, Colombia.

I also like to go to El Salvador and muggings are a daily threat to locals and tourist alike, it's probably more dangerous there.

In Tijuana they do, "choke outs" at all times of day or night, easier during the late night / early morning hours.

It's more than just a PI problem. Lessen your exposure to this pressure by not wearing jewelry, being careful w / iPhones (hold them tight when using), not counting money in public, being aware of who's nearby, not getting too smashed, never carry credit cards or your passport w / you (copy passport).

There are a lot of things that one can do. If you want to go the extra mile (I do) then tan up before you go. Be in good physical shape, start working out twice a week. These street rats are definitely looking for the easiest prey so don't be that.

Lastly if you're still paranoid about this issue go to locales known to be the safest. Maybe places like Phuket w/ a robust tourist scene w/ mongering readily available too or Burgos Street in Makati. I never saw any roving groups of kids or extreme low lifes while I was in Makati. I stayed at St Regis so I was a couple hundred feet from Burgos and a bunch of great bars full of top line pussy. At night the street fills up w / FLs and great deals can be had w / great looking ladies. So there are plenty of ways to lessen the threat of street rat muggings.

My two cents is that in comparison to what you find in other bars. The girls at ABC are not great lookers. I am surprised since everything else at ABC Hotel is the best in AC.

3000 for short time is also on the expensive site! Over the years I enjoyed talking to the ABC girls and enjoyed a good laugh or two but when it comes to picking up some short time entertainment I just go next door to Pony Tails. They open as early as 1 PM and by mid afternoon you find a nice selection.
