We all know that some bars are doing it hard due to low levels of punters and due to less girls wanting to enter the business when compared to say 10-years ago. I have often thought that if I was a bar owner, what would I do differently to increase my only two sources of revenue drink sales and bar fines?

The number one thing punters expect in a bar is a line of up attractive, slim young woman. No one wants to enter a bar to see a line up of fat, unattractive woman on stage, which is presently the case in most of the bars in AC. If the bars were full of hot woman, the punters would come, drink and bar fine. The party atmosphere which people are seeking would quickly return. The tourists would go home and tell their friends about it and numbers would increase.

It's obvious the bars just can't get any hot looking woman. Maybe the best ones get snapped by the Korean run places. Maybe poor girls just don't want to work in a bar anymore. BKK introduced coyote dancers simply because the punters wanted some eye candy while they drank their beers. It was easier to get theses girls because they didn't have to bar fine. Perhaps the AC bar owners could go down this route.

The unemployment rate in the Philippines is 5%, so anyone with a pulse can get a job. The basic dancers' salary is around PHP 7,500 (before LD commissions and bar fines), so it's similar to the minimum wage for an unskilled worker in the Philippines. Any girl can get an ordinary, respectable job and then have the option of playing the dating game on the side with a cheap smart phone. With a couple of meet ups during the month, and maybe a sponsorship from someone abroad, she would be pulling close to what the bar girl is making any way, but with an easier life. Somewhere in the region of PHP 20,000 I would guess. Social media has opened up a lot more options for girls wanting to earn a reasonable wage.

Where's all this headed? The real competitor for the bars is economic progress. The country has a very low unemployment rate, overseas demand for Filipina workers remains high and social media can be exploited by adventurous girls. Girls don't have to dance on a podium in high heels for 6-nights a week and go with fat, smelly foreigners in order to survive.

In AC, I think the specialty Korean emperor golf model and other variations of it will continue to expand. Some bars for Westerners will remain, but you can see this is a decline which can't be stopped.

I thought the few "blow row" bars were no longer allowed to let you screw on the premises? Additionally I also never heard of a strict 1 hour limit. To me ST is one pop, whether it is 10 minutes or 2 hours. I would have been choked too. I also question the wisdom of wining and dining these girls before getting anything out of your "date". First time for me to have a runner but the trend of poor service and less love and passion is continuing strong in Angeles.

Thanks for the report. I will definitely ban Bamboo bar as this is completely unacceptable response by their management. They should have refunded you the money. We pay these girls to perform, and she did not fulfill her side of the deal. She ran on you. Management then said there was nothing they could do which is complete utter Bullshit They are just being typical greedy Filipino businesspeople with a very common mentality of its okay to fuck someone over (sad but true). One of my best friends lives and has a business in Makati and constantly complains how Filipinos will screw over their own family and other people or parties in a business transactions. That is why credit or terms are rarely given in business deals, its cash only. By the way, this Bamboo Bar is in a cursed location, it used to be Bunker Bar, then Calypso Bar, and now its Bamboo. I am sure they won't make it long. The bar always has several door girls outside and you go in and its absolutely terrible with a small number of girls in. But, rest assured I will not be going in there. I did have good experiences with XS, Crystal Palace, and Atlantis girls. Hope this helps.
