We have a different breed of pinnays here in Dubai,. They seem to come from a different breed of the ones that are described here. They are often educated (nurses, accountant) and do jobs that are often below their level of education (such as cashiers or maid). Their built a reputation of being quite hard working and they are the ones supporting their families, paying the tuition of their brother, etc. The caveat is that they are not necessarily cute although quite a few work as part time WG. We'd go out and she would stop at every shop wanting me to buy clothes, food, homewares. I told her we'd go broke within a couple of years unless she got off her very cute ass and got a job to help. She flicked between wanting to do a beauty course, to opening a sari sari shop, to being in hospitality, to a hair dresser, to finally just wanting a baby to look after and have me pay for everything including her 20+ extended family.
