For those who have stated some pretty harsh feelings toward AC, I'm curious if you were lone mongers? I had some pretty wretched trips in regards to luck or finding enough to my liking. It's happened less so lately but I think I have the most fun when I have a buddy or two to meet up for meals and some bar hopping together. I don't think the place is even close to so bad as you have stated, but when you have a bad time you have a bad time.

For many, p1000 for a taxi is a better deal than 600 for a bus.

Plus, I'm assuming that 1000 pesos takes you to your hotel, where the bus takes you either to Soutern Cross or Swagman's. If you are staying in that area that's great, otherwise it's not a bad deal for 1000 to not have to change vehicles with your bag or bags.

The town streets are like a place in Africa, filthy with no law and order and little to do in the daytime.

It is dream town for those on very low budgets looking for a very cheap place to live and / or low budget pussy. Unfortunately those looking for cheapness often make the mistake of getting married to a bar girl and end up supporting previous Filipino kids, relations and goodness knows what else.

When I was at the bus station in Dau there were taxis offering me 1000 pesos to Manila.

I don't know where Dau is, but if you read under one of my posts less than a month ago, there is a full size bus that takes you to Manila from Angeles for $600 or 650, leaves at 1 pm. Good comfortable ride and they make one stop at a rest area with lots of food places, MCdonalds being one of them.

I guess everyone has their own taste. It is a little run down, but I like the bars and the girls walking around. I'm going back after only 2 months. 7 days on the ground. It is next to the Brass knob I beleive, I just saw the sign and I canceled my $2700 ride to Manila. Good comfortable ride and they make one stop at a rest area with lots of food places, MCdonalds being one of them.

As stated trikes are not allowed in to Clark. You can catch a taxi car directed opposite of the FRONT door to the new Chowking located in the plaza strip center. Be careful, you have to cross 3 lanes of traffic near Jolibees to the island of taxi Corolla cars lined up. You can get their cell for later pick up at your hotel or take them then. I think the cost is P350. This is one island over from the jeepneys to and from Dau.

From the airport back there many cars available as you step out of the terminal. P350-400.
