HCM can't compare to anything even remotely sex tourism based, its a backpackers paradise is about all it is. Safety: For me Pattaya is a very safe place to travel around, not once have I ever felt threatened.

Transportation: I found almost any form of transportation fair and pretty much on time depending on traffic. The baht bus scene really opens up a wide area. The overall transportation network in Thailand is fantastic.

Food: A wide variety to be found in Pattaya, nothing much to complain about with the Aussie beef being imported to keep the burgers from tasting odd.

Hotels: Everything from dirt cheap to a bit on the expensive side for everyones budget in Pattaya.

Massages: I do like a good long massage by a pretty girl to break up the afternoons, Pattaya has plenty of these places.

Bar scene: I do like the regular bar scene with cute girls to keep me company and or be taken away for some fun, Pattaya is loaded with them.

Communication: I'll be honest here, I do like short conversations with women but at times I just can't stand having to listen to them. Not being able to communicate can be both a blessing and a curse. I'm not too upset that its hard to talk to some girls in Pattaya.

If you set your sights a bit lower, a great time can be had. I had a fabulous time in AC last week. I didn't try to do too much, didn't try to barfine in the big Tier 1 bars, kept to my own pace and was happy to go with 6's instead of 9's and 10's.
