Posts: 160I'm coming for 3 weeks to Philippines in June and landing of course in Manila first. Depending who I am meeting maybe also going to Cebu, Davao, Bohol, Tacloban etc. For at least a week or maybe even two. Or might just end up staying in Manila like I did last year. Last year I booked a cheap AirBnb close to BGC but not really in BGC so it was quite cheap but the building was old with some rats at the pool and cockroaches in the room sometimes. Now I was thinking to rent a bit better place so maybe it wouldn't make sense to reserve for 3 weeks and end up leaving for a week or something. What would you suggest? Renting an AirBNB for the first week and then see what happens? If stay more in Manila maybe go for a cheap hotel then? If AirBNB have slim pickings on sush a short notice? Or book many AirBNBs before with a cancel option? Also it is a bit difficult to find an AirBNB with "good" security policy. Some Makati condos I have asked even don't allow visitors at all and only registered guests can enter the condo unit. Other one had a policy that no overnight guests are allowed. In some place it was possible if send a copy of guest's ID 24 hours before her stay, which might also be difficult to arrange. Is there any Makati / Bgc / Poblacion etc. Condo with less security? Like the last place I stayed in (Ridwegood towers) the guard was there downstairs looked at me but never asked a question no matter with whom I walked to the elevators. I'm looking for possibly max $40-50 a night maybe close to Greenbelt or Poblacion maybe even Mandalyong.

The OP need not worry about staff attitudes. It's hardly the first time they have seen a hot 19 yo arrive to visit her "uncle". She's probably chatting to security because she has been so many times that she knows their kids' favourite subjects at school. 😁.

The Bel-Air Soho in Makati (a block from Burgos St) allows easy entry / exit from the girl, as there is no phone in your room to call you, and you don't need to be present. However if you get drugged by the girl or she steals your stuff, they will not help you with your situation if you don't escort her out. Also the BA Soho is a lower-end, older residence.
Previous reports here of the City Garden Grand hotel in Makati also describe easy girlie access to your floor and room. RTTF the Makati thread.

Posts: 214-5 star hotels with Discreet guest sign-in?
Looking for a 4-5 star hotel with a discreet guest sign-in process.
I stayed a 5 star hotel in Bangkok and when I had a girl coming, all I had to do was call to tell the front desk that I'm expecting a visitor and tell the girl a name and room number. When she arrived, the front desk would call and confirm then send her up to my room with no problem.
When I stayed in Manila last week, I had to come downstairs and awkwardly stand outside with her as she girl fills out a form with security guard before she can step foot into the hotel. Then I had to personally escort her to my room. I can feel everyone staring at me. The guards even make small talk with the girls and I'm afraid of them saying too much. One of the girls I signed in worked at the local mall but the night before I had an escort over. I don't want her know what I've been up to. She became my regular for the remainder of my trip but I was worried they would eventually tell her I've had other 3 girls over before her.
Plus its awkward having to see the same guards every day when I leave / exit the building because they seem to be amused at my night time visitors.
Are there any hotels in Manila with a similar process as what I had in Bangkok? Where the girl registers and escorts herself without my physical presence?

I was always happy with the hotel, although your standards might differ, and I don't recall any issues with noise. Safe in room, and aircon worked, although key-card for room had to be inserted in a slot to turn on electricity (lights, TV, AC etc.) No problems about guests ST or LT. I used to regularly see an Arab businessman who had a mamasan deliver a choice to the lobby. I also took a girl from G-Point bar into the Jollibee's opposite, and we were both called out to by the bartender!!

Hi.
I need an advice.
My first trip to Manila and there have been booked hotel for me. City Garden Suites, Ermita.
I want a good hotel with quiet room, good aircon, safe at the room. And according to the web all this is ok.
But what about the possibility to bring in ladies without problems for ST or LT? I always book the room for 2 person although I travel alone.

The system to register guests is from condo to condo very different. Some ask a preregistration with copy from ID sent to the host. Other guards playing Judge-of-Moral and make the registration process to a hassle. And with a temp registered guest you may have no acess to the pool. All this you only will learn once you stay there. But then moving out will make you loose your deposit.
Hassle free acess of your play-mates, be it one or two, is the key to an Air BnB matching for our hobby.

Netflix, ye no can't help you there. The TV in my room was "smart" but there was no Netflix pre-installed. But this is hard to find outside of private condo rentals etc I think. I'd recommend bringing a Chromecast of sorts. Only problem is that you'd need it to be on the same WIFI as the device you want to cast from. I never tried, but technically it's possible I suppose. Maybe someone else can help out here.
What I can say about City Garden Grand though, they really do not care who you take up on the elevator with you haha. But yea the pool is on the small side. The rooftop bar is kinda nice though.

Hi all,
I'll be staying in Manila during Feb and was going to stay at the City Garden Grand hotel in Makati due to its proximity to P Burgos.
There are just a few things I dislike about the hotel and maybe someone can recommend an alternative.
Firstly I see the rooms have the weird bath / shower combo which I don't like. Are there any hotels in Makati with a walk in shower?
I also am unsure if I am able to get Netflix on any of the TVs (I know most hotel TVs aren't equipped for this). Hopefully there is a hotel somewhere with Smart capability.
I would also prefer a large outdoor pool. But this is not a necessity.
Thanks!

Looking on google maps, it looks like it may be "Brickstone Residences" that's next to LA Cafe.
As for your last remark, you're right. According to google, 3 of the Victoria's Court changed names to Hotel Ava: https://www.esquiremag.ph/money/indu...a2512-20220627.

The Hilton looks like very nice hotel for not too much more. I might have to give it a try. The only issue I have with the hotels are availability of reasonable taxi at 7 am to terminal 3. At Savoy I just walk out to street and hail one down and ask the price.
