Thanks for the nice words. To answer your question, Manila would be in third place. I only really go there for LA Cafe, which I love, but I find the gogo scene very expensive and it's quite a claustrophobic city to stay for any length of time. So it comes down to the classic Pattaya v Angeles debate. The honest answer is that I love both. Pretty girls are cheaper in Angeles but accommodation is more expensive. Food is better in Pattaya and there's a lot more to do when you're not mongering. Pattaya has far more variety in ways to meet girls (bars, gents clubs, soi 6, massage shops), Angeles is basically a gogo town. I think both have lots of pretty girls but in Angeles a lot of the best ones get scooped up by Koreans very early in the night. Filipino girls generally talk very good English so conversations can be a lot more fun. When I barfine them I'll often take them to another bar, for food or to play pool, I think you'd struggle to do that with a Thai girl fresh from the province. This is really good advice. I'm posting this diary with a one week delay and on the return trip I used the bus directly from SM Mall to Ninoy T1 on the expressway. I was shocked at how quick it was, less than 2 hours. It cost 410 pesos and departs every hour.

I believe the 410 peso bus has a CR onboard. The other buses are 380 pesos. Yes, the expressway have reduced the trip to under 2 hours with normal traffic. I have made it many times in 90 minutes especially now that the road work is done on NLEX.

I have used Genesis and Beeway many times. Both are excellent.

5000 being quoted at last minute is not that outrageous as they really come back empty. Beeway is 3500 by advance notice and appointment. They have a chance to get a return booking.

If I arrive late at night in NAIA then I will arrange for Beeway.

The last few times my flight landed in the morning at terminal 3 so any easy walk to Bay 14 for Genesis.

Generally for my return flights I use Genesis the day before and stay the night at Savoy or Holiday Inn Express. I just hate to rush or the stress of getting to the airport in time for the flight on the same day.

The journey took two hours and I checked in to my hotel, Penthouse, at 2. 15 pm. The deposit for the room is a whopping 4000 pesos, which seems odd to me as it means I'll have 4000 pesos burning a hole in my pocket as I head to the airport in a week's time. My room on the 11th floor is fabulous though, possibly the best I've ever stayed in. It's like a boutique hotel room with very stylish decor, a free standing bath and about hundred pillows and cushions on the bed. It cost 395 pounds for seven nights via Agoda, about 56 pounds (4000 pesos) per night.

I had a few chores to do in the afternoon. Firstly I dropped off a big bag of clothes at a small laundrette on Vian Road, opposite my hotel. Then I found a pharmacy to get some throat lozenges as all of the cigarette smoke in LA Cafe has given me a sore throat.
