I think the golden years of Angeles were probably the mid 90's to 2000

I'd say a decade earlier, in the final years of Clark AFB. Manila and Bangkok reached peak raunch in the '80's but AC was a level beyond even that. Clark was the biggest US overseas base in the world and the bar scene was huge, extending around to MacArthur and 1st Street and stretching from Fields down Perimeter all the way to Friendship. I doubt if there's ever been anything else like it anywhere.

When the US left in '91 most people figured the bars would die. But some of them dusted themselves off from Pinatubo and got going again. Then, as you say, it got good again from the mid '90's, though smaller than before.

Now it's shrunken further and the Koreans have taken over most of it. Some people don't want to deal with that, and that's OK. But those of us who've been here for a long time have adapted before and now we're doing it again. You've got to work harder to find good girls but when you do it's as much fun as ever.

Can you distinguish Koreans from Filipinos? If yes, you will notice in the Korean bars probably at least one Korean man standing / sitting outside the bar (possibly watching the door barker girls), and several more inside the bar watching operations (watching the bartender and cash register, another watching waitresses). These are clearly employees (or co-owners, as other employees rarely interact with them) whose purpose appears to be to keep service up to their standard. Korean customers will be fawned over, while western customers might appear to be ignored. OTOH if you can't distinguish K / F's, you might never notice any of that. Also Napa has previously delineated a list of K and non-K bars.

Off the top of my head bars that are very high (mostly 100%) asian punters are, xs club, club sky, avalon bar, QBar, casino bar, atlantis bar, club nana, Hi quality bar, if I'm out with asian clients this is where I take them, the few better looking girls angeles has to offer will be found here, some girls barfine, some are drinks only, many girls will only drink with asians.

Bars that are popular with asians but sometimes see westerners in very small numbers, dollhouse bar, carousel bar, arabesque bar, baccara bar, cosplay bar, skyfalls bar, monsoon bar, can find a diamond in the rough on occasions but they are mostly scooped up by the asians early.

Bars with more westerners than asians but can be quiet on many nights for punters and girl numbers, shooters bar, vikings bar, la bamba bar, lollipop bar, geckos bar, lucifer bar, girls older, fatter, plain janes mainly, but will barfine with westerners.

Think I have mentioned most of the walking st bars, hope that helps some noobies out.

My first trip was probably 2004. Probably fucked 4 girls a day at 500 to 1000 P per girl. Bars were insane. Wild girls all over you. Ladies drinks 100-125 P. I'm pretty happy with my experience so far. Last night I was going to do a barhop but only made it to two bars. I've always had more luck at the bars off Walking Street, so I started at Insomnia at 6 pm. Some cute girls there, and some tall, slim young beauties. Energy was low with girls just standing around. The Korean owner may be outside welcoming you in. Our pesos are as good as Koreans' so we are welcome in their bars. An annoying trend in these bars is a roaming "DJ" that "sings" and "raps" over the music. "DJ's" have also sat next to me and tried to push me to take a girl.

Perhaps a third category of bars could be considered the big show bars like Dollhouse and XS. There are some pretties in these, but I'm not sure if they are barfin-eable or how the boom boom would be since the girls are considered "models".

I think you will find there is a big world out there, many much bigger asian mongering destinations offer pretty young girls by the thousands that all have no problems in fucking with all nationalities for similar prices.

From what I have seen myself and from impartial comments, Angeles is degrading very fast will soon be a spent force.

This should not be a surprise to anyone. Same story in places like Pattaya. The reasons are obvious:

1) As economies advance quickly, alternative more socially acceptable and safer employment becomes readily available.

2) COVID taught the more attractive professional ladies that they can earn big money online from their own homes.

3) Those who still bar work are attractive will gravitate to the big tourist trap bars where there is far bigger easy money all round. This leaves the smaller bars struggling to survive.

Hahahaha. Very true. I arrived in Asia from one of the despot ruled, strife ridden countries that most expats seem to rotate through least one. I too couldn't go home and discuss people hacking each other up with machetes, death threats or living behind razor wire. Civilians wouldn't believe us so it remained undiscussed.

Then I relocated to Asia, the pendulum swung the other way and the uninitiated back home just could not compute how good life could be. It was totally pointless trying to explain what was now the new norm.
