There are people all over the world both male and female who are filed into several categories. Regardless of their education they are 1. Dingbats / clueless 2. No common sense 3. How do they breath and so on. I have known people with education in the PHD level that were totally useless as a daily functioning human being. In short education is nice to have, but it's not everything.

It's not just the uneducated hookers who are dingbats. The educated, professional class pinays in my country are not much better. I have come across lots of accounting, finance and admin types and they have no common sense or general knowledge. That's with a four-year college degree. They can follow instructions, blend in culturally and will generally get the basic job done. Just don't go giving them complex problems to solve. I guess the better quality, well connected ones don't leave the Philippines.

Anyone would think it's a post-apocalyptic scene around AC judging by the inflated reports I have been hearing and reading.

Remember, as I said before, filipinos love to exaggerate so divide every tale of woe by 1/2 and then subtract a further third and you might get nearer to the truth.

That might work if they're sending guys news articles, but the streets are back to their hot, stinky version of normal.

On a serious note, I've stopped visiting in the week between Christmas and New Year due to the frequency of being trapped by typhoons, earthquakes and general Acts of God.

Actually, my 4'8" princess has been the source of most frustration. One would think she'd be able to explain the basics of how things work here but she doesn't. Any good advice I've received has been from talking to ex-pats here. If / when I do re-visit, I'll go solo. The little woman is a clueless dingbat.

Seems I'm going to miss my flight out tomorrow morning. Can't even get an update, such as if my flight will be re-routed out of Manila.

The Philippines is third world SHIT on a good day.

You guys are way more relaxed than I was. I remember a couple of years ago, there was an earthquake and all the girls started screaming. The girl I was talking to grabbed my hand and dragged me outside. Outside was even more frightening with the power lines shaking. I genuinely thought I was going to be the sole idiot that died that day because of some freak accident. Glad to hear how life is business as usual there.

If I was there I certainly would have been pounding some poon (s) thereafter. YOLO.
