I'll pass all the info to my friend, although he already booked a hotel for a few days in Angeles City on the same dates as me. He'll also be stopping by Cebu (he has more vacation days than me and wants to do some tourism in the area). I'll only be in Cebu for one night (due to an unexpected flight change by Cebu Pacific, which could be a whole other post), so I'll just check out Mango Square and see if I can find anything, or maybe try my luck online.

I received a PM about an important omission in my Cebu post. Namely that when girls refer to being from Cebu, it's important to determine early on if they are referring to Cebu City or Cebu province. If the province, she could be 6 or 8 hours from the city centre.

I was there for a week for my first trip and yeah there's a huge Korean presence there but there were also still plenty of birds in the sea. Prices were great for me too. Much better value than makati. Why don't more people complain about makati being ruined instead? It's always AC.

Experienced mongers refer back to the way it was. When you are a newbie, Angeles seems great compared to your current situation but it isn't so great compared to the way it was in the past. Makati has never been great in my opinion. Angeles has changed for the worse but it is still fun. As for myself, I tend to visit other cities in the PI and not Angeles City. Cebu is an interesting place to explore when you do online dating but it is not point and shoot like Angeles City.

My sentiment exactly. I certainly don't regret any lost access to girls who, despite being very pretty, are known for their poor performance and entitled attitude. If someone else wants them, then they are welcome to them. It doesn't matter to me at all. Wherever I go, there are always more than enough girls to keep me happy.

I totally agree with your other point about making one's own fun. I think everyone knows guys who winge and complain about everywhere and others who enjoy themselves regardless of where they are.

G, I couldn't have said it better! It's all about your perception. Go and have a good time, don't try and compare and don't try and squeeze every penny. If you are going for a week or two, then let loose! If you are wondering if it's bad let me put it this way; I do know what it was like 15 years ago and after I just went back last week, I immediately took another vacation and will go again next week. Enough said. Here are a few tips I learned as well to make it more enjoyable:

-5 pm is the shift change for many bars, and yes, Koreans will be out in force at this time so if you want a shy, small, young, inexperienced girl, go out at this time. Some bars have a 6 pm shift change.

-6 pm or later is when you find the girls who in my opinion, are much more fun and actually enjoy sex and enjoy partying. I'd go barhopping around 7 pm and get a girl who I could party with all night and have fun with.

-8 or 9 pm, in my opinion most of the high quality girls are picked but you can still find some. Don't overlook waitresses. Hidden gems sometimes.

-mamason is your best friend! Often I will go to mamason and tell her something like, "I'm looking for a girl who doesn't just lay there during sex and is down for a 3 some tonight". No need to guess, mamason will know exactly which girl to get you.

Perhaps some of the people on this forum having a bad time are ones not being fun themselves?? Think about it, when you go into a bar are you calling the girl down with her arms crossed and looking away or are you calling the girl looking you in the eyes and smiling? When I am out, I am HAPPY! So I enter the bar all smiles, looking at all the girls and waving and smiling at them, I'm hugging the waitress, I'm trying to have fun and also be someone others can have fun with. Then when I call a girl I'm joking with her, smiling, making her smile. I mean, if anyone does this then there is no girl that doesn't want to go with you. But if you look all upset and call a girl and just sit there or have dry Convo, I mean, I don't blame her for not wanting you. .... angeles is mainly a girly bar town with nothing else to do, cebu on the other hand is a massive city but few bars, cebu once had 20 odd girlie bars spread out over the city but now I understand that number is down to a handful...

As much as we complain about AC girlie bars, Cebu bars truely suck: overpriced, lack of atmosphere, girls' minimum departure times, crazy conditions. And that's before you even get a her out of the bar for a sub par session.

Go for a look but don't plan a holiday around barfines. Napa is correct: online and in person is where Cebu shines.

Your friend is correct. Do the math:

1/. There are many, many more foreigner friendly girls in Cebu than Walking Street. Cebu simply has a larger population. A LOT larger.

2/. Some / many hot girls in AC are Korean or drinks only and will not be going home with a white guy under any circumstance. I haven't found this in Cebu. My experience has been that any Cebu girl happy to date a foreign guy doesn't care if that foreigner is white, yellow, brown or green.

2/. The typical source of AC working girls is poor, destitute, single moms not the thousands of regular girls who flood into Cebu looking for quality schools or jobs.

3/. AC feed stock generally comes from Lyete or Samar (think Isaan and Pattaya). Great if you prefer spinner body types but no so good if you are looking for tall and slim or buxom girls. Poverty and poor nutrition exaggerates this. True cebuana I find to be the whole range from 5'0" and homely to tall and slim. However, to these you add all the other imported ethnicities. The Philippines is an archipelago where different areas produce girls with strikingly different features. Porcelain white skinned girls, tall and stacked, honey brown skinned, huge jugs on a tiny frame: whatever you prefer, seek and ye shall find!

Here is the rebuttal and it's a big one: walk into AC and, if you aren't too fussy, you can be getting laid within minutes of arrival; Cebu is a huge city but it's not point and shoot. It does have a settling in period for newbies to find their feet and make things happen. I've had several guys complain that this period is too long and took up most of their stay. For those prepared to wait, there are rewards. However, it does take time.

In summary (sorry about the long post): in town for a few days, not super fussy and want point and shoot, then go to AC and have a blast; have some extra time, looking for better quality and looking girls and prepared to put in some ground work, then bypass AC and go to Cebu.

I should also add that if your also looking for other things to do beyond getting laid 24/7, then Cebu wins hands down.

Angeles and cebu are total opposites when it comes to meeting girls because as member westy quite rightly points out that angeles is mainly a girly bar town with nothing else to do, cebu on the other hand is a massive city but few bars, cebu once had 20 odd girlie bars spread out over the city but now I understand that number is down to a handful, there are many online girls but of course many post photoshopped photos so can take some time to get the right girl to visit.

Where cebu excells is that I find the general population of cebu girls to be taller, lighter skinned and much prettier in general, no not the bargirls but the general girls working in the malls, markets etc, if one has time on their hands and a bit of youth and game then probably no need to be fucking pros in cebu.

If only in phills for a few days then angeles has some bars, the western bars, low quality girls but will mostly barfine, korean bars better quality, younger and thinner girls but of course one will be competing with the high spending asians for some girl attention and we know who always wins there.

In summing up, cebu definately if one has time, also many places to visit, islands, waterfalls, diving, history etc, angeles if one is short on time and does not mind the competition for the very few girls of quality, hope that helps.

Difficult comparison to make, AC and Cebu. AC is mostly a gogo bar town. Cebu has only a small handful of gogos on Gen Maxillom St. Mongering in Cebu is a combo of those bars, SW, and FL. Cebuanas typically come from the area, and AC gogo girls are a collection of provincial gals from many islands.

If one has already made plans to visit and has paid for tickets and accommodation already then why not give the place a chance, one might have to lower ones girl expectations by some way but I'm sure one can still get laid if persistent.

There is a bit of a battle on the board now between some strong personalities with 180 opposite views. I'd suggest you read back to reviews from guys who are / were actually in town barfining or hooking up in other ways.

Yeah, I've been reading the forum for the past few days and it seems like there are two distinct groups. (in my country, I belong to a forum where the same thing happens, but with Pattaya. Some saying that it's not what it used to be, and others saying that it's still very enjoyable. In both cases, everyone wants to go back and go there year after year. There must be something to it. Every time I've gone, I've had a great time.)

This will be my first time going to Angeles City and I suppose I'll have a good time, with the girls and meeting interesting people.
