Wanchai has some quality pickup bars, East TST offers up Chinese FL's, and Monkok has plenty of massage joints like 37 Dundas. I would recommend staying a couple of days there before flying home.

I agree with Natty, I would never trust Cebu or Tiger if I needed to make a connection with less than 12 hours. An overnight in HK has its own rewards as well, albeit a litte more pricey!

You shouldn't have a problem unless Tiger or Cebu is delayed, but remember you will have to exit thru customs and then go to the check in counter I believe if you check luggage because I am sure that neither of these airlines has a transfer agreement with anyone at HKIA. This may add to the hassle factor!

That is plenty of time. 2.5 Hours. I usually do it in less than 90 minutes. Hong Kong is a very efficient airport.

I staid at the DM residente before but was one the villas, service was ok not great and its a good walk to fields from there in short you will have to trike it almost everywhere my advice try looking into maybe Royal Amsterdam or a new one call Galaxy hotel rooms look good and prices are great and right in the hart of all.

I highlly recommend Cathay Pacific vs. Those shitty USA (United, et. Al) airlines. Decent enough food in economy class, and you will get all the included alcohol you could ever need, and lovely flight attendents (unlike the 45+ year old. 200 lb. Porkers you'll see on the American airlines, trying to shoehorn their fat asses through the aisles. Absolutely criminal, I tell ya.)

So I am confuse about how you fly back from AC to HK. By flying Ceba or Seair in the morning you arrive around 9 am and United, American and some Cathy flight leave between 940 and 1150 am so if you need 3 hours to transfer then does everyone take the pm flight arriving at 2330h and wait the eleven hour layover. It may be better flying into Manila and not worrying about custom tranfer. Also the three times I stayed in AC it was at the Pacific Breeze which was for a week because I split my time in Manila but now I spending all my time in AC. Since I will be staying three weeks I looking for a place that is more affordable. I would like to know if the DM Residente would be a better choose. The cost for a jacuzzi room is half of the PB but can anyone tell me about this place like the room size, condition and the staff. I heard that there is no safe in the room which is strike one but is it okay to keep my stuff there or will I have problems traveling at night. I hope you can help me.

Be aware that when booking a Clark-Cebu flight or vice-versa with cebu pacific, there is a load factor indicator that dictates if that flight is a go or a no. If the seats sold number is under the break even point the flight is cancelled and you will routed through Manila and put on the next Manila-Cebu flight and that can suck.

I did not know that Stroker. Thanks for telling me. The Clark-Cebu flight I took was at least 75% occupied.

I have read that on United, the flight attendants with seniority (union rules) get their pick of routes. Plus they have a minimum number of flight hours per month they must fly. So the old ones pick the long haul flights and get their monthly minimum done in just a few days work and then use their 'fly free' status the rest of the month.

I know it is off the main topic, but want to make sure that the correct information is being put out there. First, almost all (I can't think of one that does not use this system) airlines in North America and most larger ones in Europe use the seniority system when assigning trips to crew members. The way it is handled differs greatly at each carrier. You are correct that most of this is covered by union contract, but even the non-union carriers have similar work rules. You are also correct that at least at United, Continental, Northwest, and I expect before it is all said and done American, the pensions were either terminated or frozen.

Of course back in the "good old days" of regulated skies and age (plus a few other) discrimination, the flight attendants couldn't work past 30 and were not allowed to be married. They had weight and appearance checks on a regular basis. Whether it was "better" then, is a matter of perspective I guess. Certainly from an appearance standpoint it is hard to disagree that a 20 something slender cutie is much preferred to an over 50 battlewagon. Those pesky social issues.

If you have been on a airplane recently you know how full they are, well trying to ride "standby" is a nightmare and I can assure that "fly free" status is anything but.
