Sky Trax is the disco. I met a Pinay chick in there the other night, believe it or not, who is from and lives in South Carolina. As to freebie or not that all depends on you and your game. If you plan on staying 2 weeks (which I think is a long time for AC) then you might want to look into an apartment instead of a hotel. Some of the guys who live there should be able to point you in the right direction.

How much do the apartments normally go for and are they located close to the action? I might even stay longer than 2 weeks if I can find an affordable place and enjoy my time in AC. Or perhaps go to Manila. Is Manila more dangerous than Angeles City, or vice versa, or are they about the same in terms of safety?

I don't want to be a killjoy, but most of the girls you meet on DIA in AC will be the same girls in the bars. Before I went this time I met a chick on there who said she lived in AC. I asked where she worked and she told me XYZ Bar. I told her okay I will visit her there when I arrive. I actually called her and she came to the hotel. The next day when I did visit the bar I saw they had 3 computers set up where the girls do their online hooking up. I have not had any problems with any police setups.

So does this mean they are basically trying to find customers? Or do you mean that they are just the same girls from the bar. I don't really care if they work at the bars or not if I can avoid paying big fees.

I finally made the Pinatubo tour. The views at the caldera are stunning. The last time I inquired about a tour, the agent discouraged me because of rain. The next day a group, including French tourist, were washed away by lahar (mudflow of volcanic ash). Seven were killed. You don't want to do this during rainy season.

I didn't keep good track of time, so please correct me if anyone sees obvious discrepencies. A 6am start, nearly three hours in a jeep. The last hour is off road over lahar and part way up the slopes. Another group went by van and was transferred to jeep later, which is probably a better way to go. The jeep is open air and it can get chilly. The hike is what I would call easy, about an hour each way and nothing extremely steep. Nevertheless, the trails have a lot of rock and lahar sand. It's easy to stumble. The locals did this in sandals, and I did it in regular athletic shoes. It was a weekday and I understand the weekends will have many more visitors. I also heard, but have not confirmed, that the trip is shorter if done from Subic.

The paying hikers consisted of five . Two mid-aged Americans, two 30ish Koreans, a Fil-American. The only woman. The Filipina was very helpful because the guide apparently couldn't speak English. The Koreans were friendly and courteous. Which of course contradicts what some others have said on this message board.

Just before we went off road we stopped to register and I paid 2, 500. Other members had paid the travel agent in advance. Around this time we picked up a guide and a boat man. The jeep was rather crowded.

There was an additional 350 fee if you wanted to rent a boat, incl. Boatman. This had to be paid at the registration center. That being said we talked to someone who had negotiated 250. I also think that if you opted out of the boat, once you get at the caldera lake you could probably arrange something with the guides. Despite the "no swimming" sign, I swam in the caldera lake. Water wasn't as cold as I expected.

The history of the Pinatubo eruption and the Aeta people who lived on the slopes is very interesting. You can find plenty of information on the web. The guide and the boat man were Aeta people. Our guide says he gets paid less than 250 pesos, but they take turns being guides and he gets onlytwo chances a month. And probably no chances in the rainy season. He was tipped well by our group, despite his lack of English.

At the end of the hike we were were fed at the same place as the registration center. It was Filipino food, and it was better than I expected. I think were back on the AC strip sometime before 5, although most tours are probably shorter. We had a few things that slowed us down. Hope that helps if anyone is interested in a Pinatubo hike.

I had a 7:40am flight out of MNL Monday.

I took a trike at 2:00am from Central Park Hotel for 100 pesos.

I arrived at Dau bus station at 2:10am. The Five Star bus departed for Pasay at 2:15am. 132 pesos.

I arrived in Pasay at 3:33am. (I actually got off at the stop before the one I was supposed to. I remembered the Five Star garage from the time before and got off there. Just so happened there is actually 2 of them. The one I was supposed to get off at was actually another 10 minutes down the road.

I entered a taxi at 3:34am and arrived at the airport at 3:55am. 165 pesos.

Summary: Departed hotel in AC 2:00am arrived MNL 3:55am. 397 pesos. It would have been under 300 pesos if I would have gotten off at the correct stop.

I am going to be staying at Pacific Breeze, which was recommended by some people on this site as a budget place to stay, but that is $50-60 a night (I was unable to book the cheapest room for 2 weeks straight). In Thailand you can probably get a similar room for $25 or even cheaper if you really wanted.

However, since I have never been to AC, I thought that it was definitely a place I had to visit at least once, so that's why I'm going in 2 weeks. 2) Door girls can be great, but then you have to be careful walking past the bar. I remember being able to stand in front of Kokomo's and see 7 former barfines working doors. I have a problem.

I don't you cannot compare AC to Hong kong or Macau, this is a little shit hole town with many bar with not much else to offer yes price has gone up alot the last few yr but still cheaper than most place in asia, I think you can compare AC to other Monger city like Pattaya, Phnom Penh and CP in China.

Well, it has been 14 years since the last time I was in AC. Most of my time has been spent in China (where I got married, what the hell was I thinking!). Next month, I have a business trip to Manila and I will take a side trip to AC.

I have one question, from the post here, the guys talk about p1, 500 to p3, 000. This is of course the bar fine. My question is do you need to pay the girl additional money? For example, do I need to pay the bar fine, plus pay the girl based on what she and I agree to? If I need to pay the girl additional money, what is the going rate most guys pay to the girl.

You may calculate all you want but you spend more in a day in AC than getting a ST in Pattaya.

There are many bars in a short proximity and if you go to 10 bars looking for the girl it will be min 1000 pesos for one drink each plus tip. Ofcourse you will be tempted to order atleast 3-4 ladydrinks which will add up to 1000 pesos.

It will be hardly to stay within your budget. The more you drink it will be harder to control.

Ok. So you found the girl early at the first bar you went to and barfined her. So what do you do next?

All these girls are not content to stay with you and screw your brains out. If you barfine early they will be runners after one shot. Most of the men take them barhopping or disco to while away the time. This costs more money.

Remember these girls are not in the habit of sleeping early.

So all in all planned or not you will be spending more money per day than you imagined you will do.

Ofcourse if you stay in the room and sleep you will be well within budget.

Got into town on Sunday and checked into "the Breeze", they still have some hotties working the desk. One hour massage (never even had one of the massage girls "hint " at anything more) and off to meet Transporter, and a buddy of his that was on his "cherry" visit to AC. Made the rounds at a few Fields bars, a hot waitress at Champagne that continues to deflect my attempts to barfine her for some carnal fun, nothing in Atlantis or Babydolls that interest me. At those prices. I really enjoy the show at Blue Nile Exec, and had wanted to bar fine a girl from there earlier, but she was on the "mens"! The leader of the dance troupe is a 10+, but is married and no way is on the menu. Got to have a dream! I had settled on a door girl from Pasha, her name is Haidi, and if you meet her don't bother. She got drunk, passed out, then woke up late with a hang over. I left the room at 11am, her still there and when I returned at 2pm she was gone. I had even bought a new outfit for the pictures she promised, I can be a real chump sometimes.

Welcome back to AC, U! Barfine ranges from 1200 to 3000 in AC. (Exception is some BJ-bars with 700 for ST.) With the majority from 1500-1800. A very few bars have multiple fares, most have one standard. Now, the thing with AC is that it is not specified whether this is ST or LT. You may agree on this with the girl while in the bar, but nothing is guaranteed. Remember that the BF is a EWR, legally the girl only agrees to go with you outside the bar, nothing more. But: sex is expected, if she don't deliver, go back to the bar and complain at once! (Talk to the manager without other people listening.)

Then there is the cost of the drinks: customer / local drinks vary 60-105. LD 120-170 (or more). You only need to buy one of each. NOTHING MORE IS NECESSARRY TO PAY! You may tip if you want to (max 500!) or pay breakfast. If you are satiesfied, she did what was promised, stayed LT, etc, but that's up to you. Generally I recommend: don't tip!

For more info, opinions and discussions about these things and more: read the reports here (go 2-3 months back at least). Also get info about local transport, hotel options, etc.

Watch out for these betes noir: Pushy street vedors. Bad attitude at bigger show bars, included waitresses expecting tips for being rude. Girls claiming to get pregnant after you have been with them. Meeting the same girl several times and getting emotional: From your experiences in China you probably know all about this; if you come as a sex-tourist, then stay sex-tourist!

It's a fact that AC is not as good as before (2 years+) but it is still a great place to come and have fun, and way cheaper than Thailand. BTW: it would be interesting to hear about how it was in AC in the good old days, tell some stories!

As for my story, when I was a newbie 16 years ago, my first stop was Cebu.
