    Bar fine tips

I barely tip a girl on a bar fine. Instead if I like her I go see her again and buy her drinks or small tip on another day. I believe they just spend what ever they have in their pocket also I spend lots of money on them if I see them more often as I will take them to the doctor and the dentist and travel.

But mostlly I am living there in angeles.

I do not want to spoil the girls with too much tipping. Just my way of doing things.

I keep an unwritten book on the girls I C. If I don't like them I don't see them again and why would I tip them if they did something I did not like if I like them and see them again is save what I would give in tips as a fund for other things. Again like doctor food dentist and travel.

If the girl says she needs trike money then I may give 100 pesos for that. But if she is asking for tip or money then I don't like her all ready for asking.

I have a lot of respect for the local expats, and semi-regulars in AC, so I certainly don't want to screw up the market.

    Here is my Recommendation.
    1. If your beer costs 90 pesos give 100 pesos and let her keep 10 pesos.
In phi 10% is normal tipping for foreigners.
    2. If your check is 1000 pesos it does not mean you give 100 pesos tip. 50 pesos should be ok.
    3. Waitresses are quite happy to get 20 peso tip.
    4. As has been said here before the tip for barfined girls should be 300-500 range depending on the service. When the service is poor I have kicked them out without tip.

I rarely have more than one drink an any one bar. Even when I do, I don't tip for drinks. Its not a meal where she's busy waiting on multiple tables hand/foot. Most waitresses in the bars outnumber the customers (somtimes 5 or 10: 1). They have little to do after bringing me a drink (30' to the bar, 30' back to me) and either stay and chat, or go chat their friends. Tip?

20 to 50 pesos. Is usual. And 50 when you want to make an impression. Any thing more is excessive. As earlier mentioned 100 to 200 is a day's wage. So just think back home would give any waitress her daily wage as a tip. So why would you in the PI. Especially with the fact that tipping in ASIA period is NOT the cultural norm.

To me I say fight everytime you can against theft and corruption now being a visitor in this country I will not make much of an issue over anything but if they try to cheat me I fight it the best I can and I would rather give my money to someone that is honest and trying to be real. Lot of thieves in Philippines and the menality is that we are rich and we can afford it so why not but still I want to chose who I give my money to and not let them cheat me out of it so I do not get upset but I pay attention and do not let it happen if I can avoid it.

    Tips

Yes I say tip what you like I am all for giving money away to the needy especially girls hahahaha I support about 4 to 10 girls depending o the situations that arise I do cut the girls off if they ask for too much money but I am limited on a budget and had to decide to manage my funds as I am retired for tipping I give about 5% sometimes, rarely a little more or a lot if I really really really like the girl but I also think if you give too much money they are not wise about it and I have seen girls and merchants get mad when someone else gives less if they are given too much.

So what ever we do it disrupts and or helps them most girls spend what they have. And don't save but if I had more money or less girls I would be more generous knowing that you can also do harm by over loading them with too much money. But then again why not ? If it makes you happy.

First off everyone is going to have their opinion. This is kind of how I look at it. The waitresses alone make what about 120 pesos a shift? You tipped that one woman her daily salary. Second, say you buy one dancer or waitress a drink and are keeping her warm with your hands and all and buy one or two drinks for her. If you buy one then she makes 50 pesos from it, if you buy two for her she made 100 pesos. For that waitress who you didn't touch like you did your lady drink woman, she made more than them. Sometimes if I cop a good feel on them and don't barfine I actually tip the woman a little something. But when compared to what the waitress does, it's just not the same. That's part of my logic.

Plus this waitress copped an attitude that it's not her fault to make sure change is correct and you reward her by tipping her that? There is no set percentage to tip, shoot you don't have to tip at all. A lot of women will barfine with you, take care of you for the night and not expect anything afterwards. She makes 600-700 pesos for the barfine and now the waitress got 25% of what she makes for bringing you drinks.

Personally for me, 10-25 pesos is good depending. If she's really good maybe a little more. If she's a ***** maybe nothing at all. Some will give you attitude about tipping because they've been spoiled. A tip is usually a sign you are happy with their service, it's not mandatory.

FF, I think we are arguing about semantics here.

I was responding to the meaning of 'denial' as used by Turtlehead.

To expand a little. I used the US example of the health debate as it was a clear case where one side had one set of 'interests and views' as you put it, and the other side had a diametrically opposite set of 'interests and views'. That meant that one side or the other had to be wrong and in 'denial'.

Turtlehead's point was that by trying to paint AC as a Las Vegas, the AC mayor was in denial.

My point was that the Mayor was responding to the political reality of 'differing interests and views' as you put it.

    So we agree....I think. :)

I am hoping that the Mayor can pull it off and convince the world at large that it is an entertainment area. ;)
