I've been here for three nights, and took three different women. I usually tip something from 200-500 if they were good to me. None of them demanded a tip. Two actually stayed overnight until 12 pm and 2 pm and said their goodbyes and said hope to see you later and opened the door to leave without mention of a tip request. The other one short timed me when she had agreed to long time. I've never had a woman I barfined in Angeles demand a tip.

Depends. Being a dancer have a much much higher chance for being picked up by a monger as they are the ones "expected" to be picked up. Also I met a few waitress and some don't actually want to be taken out so they prefer being a waitress serving beer rather than a dancer. Also the regular salary the bar pays the dancers are alot more than for the waitress. Some dancers I met simply want to be a dancer--higher profile being on stage in skimpy swimwear and wants to be noticed and picked up. They could never imagine being a waitress.
So, mainly depends on the lady in question.

I actually think in Angeles, the waitresses get way more play on average than the dancers. It's easier to interact with customers since they have to serve them and have reason to be around the customers where on stage, it's rather distant.

I have been in angeles about three years.

When I first got here I gave the girls tips. Now I do not tip. I may pay for trike ride home. Or give a little if I know for sure I don't want to see them again.

But I also take them places and will take them to doctor and dentist if needed after repeated visits.

But very little on up to five bar fines. This changes if I start seeing them longer term?

As I mostly want girls that are not too much into money. If they want something more, like friends or connection may sound silly but I prefer to see a girl again if I like her. If all she wants is money and tip then I don't care that she does not want to see me again.

Also the girls in angeles do seem to be getting fatter? But there are some awesome girls and more girlfriend types for my liking. But I have to search and go through many girls to fidn the right ones.

When I first arrived in the Philippines I did go to cebu and the girls there are really hot also but then I got hooked on angeles and I just wait till I find a the right girls.

You can find the 9s and 10s on any night, know the salary day for the bar, and show up at the right time. Once a week the girls pick up their weekly pay for each of the days that they stood on stage dancing. Its usually Tuesday-Thursday, but on this particular day the number of dancers is double for that club what you'll see on normal days and girls will even hold off on bar fining until its their turn to go to the back room and get their money. Which also allows you to see more of whats really available there.

Aside from that, almost every club has some super hot gems but they can disappear early. There was a girl I met through a friend outside my hotels swimming pool. He picked her up at jollibees just by inviting her to eat with him and then she came back to our hotel to swim until she had to get ready for work. I chatted with both of them and he told me that he wasnt really into her personality. Her bar opened at 7:30 and I went to see her around 9 pm 4 days in a row. Each time she had already been barfined by a different guy before I got there. I didn't get grab her until I made a point to show up before 8 pm one day.

You also have to take shift into account. For example some girls start in atlantis at 7(correct me if I'm wrong) and others at 9 since it doesn't close until 5 am. Also many of the spotlight dancers who can be the best looking will stay in the back until its time to put on their special show. I don't know what time you went to Atlantis but if you went late try stepping in for just a sec right after 9 pm.

When we went inside, it was smaller than we imagined it would be. In the videos we been watching on youtube, it appeared to look bigger. But, it looked small to me and my friend as we walked in. We weren't blown away by this club. We sat at the very front and bought those 300 pesos ping pong balls and threw it on stage. There is 15 ping pong balls in each basket and I believe it's 20 pesos per ball. I only drank water and the bottled water was 95 pesos.

We then went to Crystal Palace nearby and there were alot of girls on stage. However, most of them to us don't look all that attractive. The showgirls are 3000 pesos to BF and the regular dancers are 1500 pesos. Ladies drinks here is 250 pesos for SML. I did BF one of the showgirls since me and my friend didn't want to end the night with no BF. I wasn't impressed with the girl I BF. She wasn't that fun type of girl. She looked ok and had a nice body. But, I seen girls in Vikings bar in Cebu look better for only 1700 pesos BF.

Personally, I wasn't that impressed with these 2 popular bars on Fields Avenue. We were both spoiled when we went to Club Arena in Cebu before heading to Angeles City after. I admit, I as well and my friend enjoyed Club Arena. It is expensive there but, the girls look good and dress more classy. After we both BF a girl at Arena, it will be hard to find a girl in Angeles who can match up. I think we are a bit spoiled and standards right now are high.

The second night we did not even bother to go to any bars and just stayed in. There wasn't any bars I was anxious to go to.

Most mongers know that the girls in A.C. are mostly 5 to 8's and are fun and cheap to bring back to your hotel. Areana Bar in Cebu is one of the top bars in that city and those girls could easily be stars in Makati district bars. But most have a high and mighty attitude because they are used to being spoiled with lots cash from the asian foreighners. To each his own..

It normally happens most in the tropics and in the more humid seasons.

That's because there is a proportion of the warm moist outside air coming into the cooler less humid cabin. It is just the same as when you exhale on a very cold dry day. Your warmer moist breath comes out as vapour in the colder dryer air outside. Some planes seem to get it more than others. I suspect that those that do get this phenomenon have a higher proportion of fresh air coming into the cabin. It cannot happen if they are 100% recirculating air inside the cabin.

So, it is probably a good sign of fresher air being used to aircon your plane.

I could fall for that. Except I've not seen it on Lion, Garuda, PAL, Cathay Pacific, China Air, EVA Air, SEA, Delta (in the tropics).

On a related note I flew on Spirit Airlines in the States, from Detroit to Orlando a while back. I found it odd that the interior of the A319 was suspsciously similar to CP similar model aircraft. In fact, the exact same seat (no lower lumbar support), which I've never seen on any other airline except CP. The 3-hour flight was fine, but before the cabin doors closed for pressurization check, the same steam started coming out of the cabin vents overhead and making some people nervous (it was cold outside). Just like CP in Philippines. A co-inky-dink yes? OK, call the Spirit Airlines 1-800 number in the states and listen to the customer service rep who answers the phone: someone with a Filipino accent. The first time I called to make an itinerary change, I asked the young man if he was in Makati, Cebu, or Davao at a call center. He asked how I knew he was in filipines (hehe, the accent). He fixed my itinerary. In chat with him he said Spirit Air is owned by Filipinos. Don't be surprised if its a subsidiary, or sister act, to CP. He was in Makati BTW.

You are probably right, its probably designed to vent air prior to takeoff.

I think being a waitress is a better job than being a dancer. No standing up there doing some stupid dance. And because waitresses interact with customers, they have a better chance of being bought drinks and being bar-fined. Not to mention, they collect tips or extra money from customers telling them to "keep the change".

Unfortunately, the answer is YES. My last trip in AC, remembered about 4 or 5 ladies asking for a tips and one "insisted" on it --making faces and getting all worked up about it. Only reason I remember her best is that she was a good lay and I was actually going to give her about 300p or more tip before she left but before I could even reach for my pants she got going with her "insisting on her tips BS". I was a bit ticked by this attitude so couldn't wait to get rid of her. Showed her the door without the tips.
Yes, the more people tip, the more they expect it from us and some are not embarrassed to ask for it . just the sign of the times I guess.

it's not just for this pi thread but also i posted along with phantomtiger on the indonesian and cambodia and other threads about proper tipping and overtipping as not knowing the proper tips and culture had steadly driven up prices for everyone. and since this directed affects me then its a peev for me.

I flew into Hong Kong and my girl friend was going to fly up from Clark and spend a few days with me in HKG before we both were going to fly back to the Philippines. Long-and-short of it, she got extorted by Clark immigration and they would not let her out of the country. That is another entire story. So, she did not arrive in HKG. Upon learning of her not arriving I went to the Cebu Pacific counter in HKG and tried to catch an earlier flight to either Manila or Clark. I did not want to sit in HKG for 3 days by myself. Cebu Pacific had one flight later that night but they wanted the equivalent of US$ 300 for one-way. I already had a ticket from HKG to Clark, but it was three days later. I then pulled out a credit card and Cebu Pacific in HKG would not take an American credit card. At their ticket counter in HKG they would not take US dollars in cash. They would not even take Philippine pesos (remember, they are a Philippine airline). To buy that US$ 300 ticket I would have had to convert any currency or any credit card into Hong Kong Dollars, before they would sell me a ticket. Long-story short, I had to go online the next day and buy a ticket and I spent probably US$ 300 buying another ticket and flying into Manila a couple of days later. Cebu Pacific I think is an OK airline once they shut the plane's door and get up in the air, but when it comes to their administrative and ground operations they totally suck!

Its possible also you did not call your bank (CC) and tell them what countries you were traveling to beforehand (HK). Many american banks or issuers of CC shut the card down the moment they detect its outside the US unless you phone the 800 # ahead of departure. Several of us have posted about this on the board, including ATM cards. CP might not be the one to deny its use, it might have not worked at all in many places in HK. It might magically also start working later.

it depends where you are from.

philippine culture is not a tipping culture. however, the girls know that people from other cultures do tip, and they work on that.

they know that people from the us, korea and japan almost always tip, so if you are from those cultures you are expected to tip.

they know that people from australia and new zealand for example do not tip, and so they don't expect much of a tip if anything.

so if you tip in your home country, then the girls will know that and expect you to tip accordingly.

in ac, a tip is not compulsory.

having said that, if you feel that the girl gave good service, or you want to keep her a bit longer, then a tip can help.

i normally tip enough for a trike fare - about 100 piso. if i see a lady for a week, i normally also buy her a dress or two in the markets near the swiss chalet. dressing them up and then undressing them in their new clothes is fun too.

however, others tip 500 piso or more. i have never had any problems tipping less than that in ac.

the other thing is that if you are going to ask the girls to do something really "different" sometimes it is good to ask up front, and offer a tip if what you ask for is "challenging" for them.

Its a crappy airline. The planes are new, but its a typical asian airline (absolutely no frills)..

Not to mention the few much older propeller planes they still use to fly between the islands. I've done that once and thru a rain storm too. Talk about a roller coaster ride, upside is glad they weren't serving any food or drinks that day.
