Been reading this board for about a year now but have never gotten around to posting. I've finally come upon an opprotunity to visit AC but have some logistical concerns. My current situation (Iraq) and my employer (Tito Sam) aren't big fans of exact dates when it comes to R&R. All I know is I will be taking a "break" for 18 days sometime late June/early July. I'm pretty sure they'll fly me to the PI but just in case I'm planning on flying out of San Francisco if they fail. I need to arrange transport to AC from Manila and I think I've got that covered via a private car and driver. My biggest concern is hotel. I can't make reservations because I don't have exact dates. Is it hard to get a room for a couple of weeks this time of year. I've been looking at Wild Orchid, Orchid Inn, Pacific Breeze, etc. All the usuals. What do you guys think is my best bet? Are there other options. I'll have more questions in the coming weeks. I want to land on the ground ready to rock and roll. Any of you all going to be in AC around the same time? Any other advice or info you guys may have would be greatly appreciated!

Posts: 287Some AC info for first timers (May 08)
Since I haven't found any information like this in this forum before, I thought it may be helpful to first timers!
1. there is a bus shuttle service between Manila-Angeles-Subic (and vv)
->Southern Cross Bus Shuttle
I tried it myself (from AC to MNL) and it was on time, reliable and comfortable at 550 Pesos!
See the jpgs
2. please also find maps of AC entertainment area.
See the pdfs
Cheers

Since two days now in AC, whaaa, I love the low season. :D
What a fine selection available. So many girls but so little time. :(
Some bars in Fields charge now 95ps for a SMB, but I forgot which bars.
One is KOD if I remember correctly, I think others will follow soon.
Anyway, who cares.
IMHO Fields Ave is changing more into an entertainment area or party zone, almost every day somewhere some Photoshooting,
Lingerie show, body painting or whatsoever.
5 yrs ago there was nothing like this.
And if you see how many guys nowadays throw these pingpong balls.
One Asian guy was shooting folded 20ps bills with a rubber band on stage and so on....
Amazing.
Life is good, di ba.
Cheers! :D

I've never been to Pattaya, but I do disagree with some of the opinions about AC.
1) To say there's nothing to do during the day isn't quite accurate. It's more accurate to say there's nothing ELSE to do during the day, heh. But quite a few bars open early (noon, and one at 10 am even). Not to mention the 24 hour ones. I rarely find myself bored during the day.
2) Some hotels and pools are better than others. ABC, Orchid Inn, Pacific Breeze, and Wild Orchid all have nice pools. The Wild Orchid is possibly the best pool of the four but I think their rooms are overpriced.
3) The food is almost certainly better in Pattaya, I'm guessing. AC food is lacking, to say the least.
For 2 or 3 days, you can surely stay busy and have fun in AC. If you have something more like a month, I can see where it would get old. My longest trip has been 10 days so it hasn't been a problem for me.
Also, if you only have a few days in AC, you're going to want to interview the girls thoroughly before you take them out. One bad performer could ruin half your trip. Because of this, I'd stay away from the mega bars on a short trip.

AC does have stuff to do, although for alot of it you have to travel an hour or so, but its not meant to be a anything but adult Disneyland. If you want stuff to do monger in Manila or Cebu. Oh and as far as beaches go? The beaches of Cagayan de Oro or Boracay beat Thailand hands down :D

Just a road actually. I was there for a few days mid April. I do not thing I will ever go back there again. IMHO Pattaya is way much better with hundreds more options.
There is nothing to do during the day except a dirty swimming pool (America hotel) or going to a new shopping mall on the other side of the road. Already forgot its name. See also
