Get yourself a small ($20-$40-ish) amount of pesos in your pocket before you move on. Worry about the exchange rate later near your hotel.

Money changers surely will give you a bad rate if you are only changing $20-40-ish. At the airport I usually change $200. I don't want to have to worry about changing more money as soon as I get to my accommodations.

Money changers want Franklins especially. Never bring old or damaged bills. Always have late edition recently printed money. I bring cash and use that mostly. I have credit and debit cards which I use only when I'm in trouble like when I got stranded in the PI in the spring of 2020 when Covid first hit. PAL stopped flying. I ran out of cash. The embassy arranged for evacuation flights which I took after 70 days.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I probably will barhop but I will definitely keep an eye out for the places you mentioned.

I guess I really can't complain about the increase in bar fines as the inflated prices is a global issue now and cost of living has gone up globally.

Anyways, any good restaurants around? I'm really not too fond for anything exotic but the standard Asian dishes (pad Thai, satay, fried rice, egg rolls) I'm cool with and definitely down for a proper steak house before a good fuck.

I arrived yesterday at Clark Airport having all the required docs. They didn't ask me for travel insurance and I can see other passengers also not been asked about it. Airline also didn't ask. Just wasted $69. But you never know they might ask for it at some point.

Swimming pool and gym are important for me as I enjoy them.

Mongering is more a pass time.

The Woodland Park Resort has a 25 m pool with lane markers. It's the best lap swim pool I have seen in the PI. The hotel isn't so bad either. At one time it was my go to place. Now it's Korean owned and the restaurant serves kimchi style food. I have hosted pool parties there. The grounds are really nice. It is away from the "action" but 6 minute grab or trike ride and you are on the Walking St. Besides, the action isn't always on the WS; rather it is on my bed.
