Tinder is loaded with call center girls who hate their low pay and bang the stray foreigner for big cash. So I expect the bar scene to not go anywhere soon. All those hotels will either close up or become slum hotels overnight if the bars close and the tourists go elsewhere. The retirees don't stay there either. I think the authorities might try to be 'righteous' and close / limit the bars (eg smoking ban) but then big $ people will come forward to do what is necessary to keep AC bringing in the tourist dollars.

I know in Florida has the sping breakers bounce from town to town (after they ruin their welcome, a town clamps down on them and pushes the kids to another town). But where else would the Mongers go in the phils? Expensive and crowded manila / makati or distant Cebu or? The phils would be crazy to push away all that money by driving the mongers out of the phils all together. Especially as Asia rises. If they were smart, they would try for some of the Chinese money as they rise to the first world and will start mongering like Korea has in the past 10 years. But then again, who knows what Duetarte or the business-non-savy filipinos might do. Just my 2 cents.

Next time you are in AC let me know and I will show you the rising middle class of Philippines. They are the ones in the 800,000 not so low paying call center jobs in Pampanga. It's surprisingly very cheap for filipinos to live in the Philippines. These staff will earn enough money to start owning cars if they choose and take overseas holidays. There really is alternatives to working in the bar. It's very possible that the average bar girl of today would be very happy to just be a jaja for a call center girl.

I agree there are certainly call center girls earning extra cash. They also do it for fun, it's a choice and not necessity.

Thanks everyone for the PMs and posts. Much appreciated. The thing for me is the risk of the girl running. When I bar fine a girl for the first time, I will insist we go immediately back to my hotel. That way she cannot make an excuse of time being up if we go to party or eat first. I assume if the girl did a runner on the way to your hotel right after you leave the bar, you would have grounds to get the money back from the bar. However, after spending 2 hours at a disco and eating dinner together, if the girl does a runner, then the bar would say she has spent the allocated time with you so there is nothing they can do. After repeating with a girl, then it will be safe I think to do the dinner, disco, and back to the hotel thing after for sex. This business model is similar to the Thai scene in BKK such as Saphan Kwai. The customer loses control and opens himself up for a lousy session. Only the hope of a tip or YMMV can make this experience a good one. I like Mr. E's strategy of telling the bar he will pay everything to girl after. If the bars agrees, that's the best idea. I think this could be arranged if the Moma son sees you as a good guy in the bar. For example, if you are buying an abundance of lady drinks and tip well, they will trust you more to accept this scenario.

While I realize that some of you are non smokers and are positively giddy over the new ban, I am not so thrilled. No prizes for guessing I smoke. What I want to know is are they taking this seriously, haphazardly, a token bit of enforcement or. ? I will not be too happy if smoking is banned from all bars and even near public spaces outside? It might not stop me from going to AC but I will definitely think twice and also about my length of stay. I can't actually see how going out for a smoke would even work with half finished drinks to go back to, waitresses chasing you out the door with your unpaid bill not realizing you are coming back in 5 minutes etc. Any news from people on the ground?

Come on business savy American. Do you really expect these people to set up a meeting with the marketing department at Cebu Pacific and tell them they should put more flights into Clark so that their bars will have more customers? Not unless they want to get laughed out of the Philippines. Even when there was a Bangkok flight, the only "bar" person I saw on it was me.

And now with the smoking ban, who knows how the Koreans will react (Koreans still smoke unlike the Americans). And with the phils warming up to the Russians, and also the US accusing Duetarte of crimes against humanity with his drug war, who knows if US ships will still pull up to Subic and let out 3000 horny sailors. I remember years ago there would be a line at ATM's a mile long with US sailors

The cheapest flights are into Manila from USA, a savings of $200 or more. I have been flying into Manila and staying 2 nights and then flying to Cebu or other cities, then flying to Clark. This avoids the traffic from Manila to Angeles especially when my flight lands in Manila around 10 pm.

I have a couple girls on standby in Manila when I land or I can get an AC girl or two to bus their way to Manila. Either way I am happily in bed by midnight. I like to start my trip the first night with known performers.

BTW, a retiree told me the smoking ban is just an effort by the Phils authorities to get more kickbacks from the clubs. The clubs allowing Huka smoke are paying the kickbacks I have heard (ex: gossip, Aqua).

I hear you there are flights from a few different countries, but for me flying from Japan, there were only bad flights through Seoule. And if war with north Korea lights off, what will happen to those flights, and the thousands of horny K's that come to AC to get their 333 on??

Also flights from Singapore, Dubai (via Cebu) and Doha.

However not from Tokyo (but do we want more Japanese?) and unfortunately also not from Bangkok anymore which is a real PITA.

I paid and extra 200 usd to fly into AC, and it almost felt worth it to avoid manila and the dreaded swagman bus. Just my thought.

Don't go screaming aloud I want to barfine you honey. Just whisper to her with your ground (bed) rules amd if she accepts then ask her how do you take care of the barfine. She will tell you and then tell the waitress or mamasan.

I think sex is ileagal in Thailand so your analogy is correct but a little bit naive for this discussion since we all pretty much understand this point as experienced mongers.

Yes, but AC is a horse of a different color. If you do or say certain things they may think you are the police and will tell you there is no such thing as a bar fine or that they can not leave out with you, etc. My first time going to AC I was with a Filipino friend. In every bar we went to they thought he was the police, so the girls were not as loose as they may have usually been.

If you do some reading in this section you will see that the police have been known to show up on occaision and take every employee in the bar to jail for how much ever amount of time as well as shutter the bar.

Paying the girl directly certainly makes me feel better than paying the bar directly, so I'm ok with that. I assume this can be done when she is ready to go or do you have to pay it to her at the bar and then she hands the bar their share before leaving with you?

When it is time to leave the bar the girl will ask you for the bar fine money. I tell her to tell the mamasan that I will send it back with her when she comes back the next day. She then goes to get permission to do it this way. My method is unconventional however.

Most guys give it to the girl in the bar before leaving. Then as far as I know, the girl gives that entire amount to the bar before leaving with you. If you do it this way though, you have no leverage if the girl decides to leave early. And several people have complained about runners.

Just a quick question since I'm a little confused. In Thailand, the bar fine is paid to the bar and then you must pay the fee for the lady for short time or long time. But I have been reading this forum preparing for a trip and this question is unclear here since many pay more and many don't. What is the true answer? In Angeles City, does the bar fine, your payment to the bar, include sex, or do you have to pay extra to the lady for ST or LT? I'm not talking about a tip guys, just whether the bar fine includes everything or if you need to pay the ST or LT fee to th girl later or not?

Note that AC is different than Manila (EDSA Entertainment and Burgos). In AC you pay fully at the bar (and give the girl an optional tip later) but in Manila you pay a bar fine and then you pay the girl. EDSA for example is php2000 to the bar and most girls ask for 2500-3000ST.

AC is easier on your wallet.
