I've never heard before that the bar fine is 'up to you'. The rate for the girl yes, but the bar fine?

Anyway, I don't visit the bars very much anymore and certainly not in Walking Street. But I know from the reports in the Pattaya thread that the bar fines range from 300 to 700 baht. I guess that's the range all over Pattaya and it's very well possible that the majority is closer to 300 than to 700.

Just a quick clarification. There is a "downtown" Angeles city and it is quite far from the Perimeter / Fields Avenue playground. Fields area / Walking street is the the main entertainment area of Balibago (part of AC). I think what Yuri is telling us is that the Perimeter jeepneys will cheaply take you from the Perimeter area into pleasure central. But it's not "downtown".

Another potential point of confusion is that Perimeter and Fields may be different areas with different vibes, but they are actually the same stretch of hot concrete and asphalt.

AC Wayne's Map (google is your friend) shows the divide between Perimeter and Fields to be Near Lewis Grand and Phoenix Hotel. That surprises me because I always thought "perimeter" started where the Main Gate of the old base started. Perimeter fence, which is still there. That is about at Pony Tails which is also near the jeepney terminal.

I always love coming to Angeles City. Great place to visit and inexpensive.

I stayed at the Red Planet hotel which is a good 3000 meters from the Fields avenue, and I would NOT recommend you walk alone in that neighborhood at night. Angeles City is like any place in the world, and crime is there, you will need some common sense to avoid it. However, there is a convenient Jeepney service at 8 Peso a ride that you can take to the main area. I began to really like the Jeepney service a lot from the hotel to the downtown. The regular scooter people will charge you 100 peso. Red Planet was good value for the money.

Bars:

I liked Labamba on fields avenue. For one price, you get the girl and the other fees. Most of the bars are like that where the combination of other fees and the girls time will range between 2100-3000 peso depending on the place. Compare to Makati or Edsa in Manila where there is a 3000 Bar fine PLUS the girls fees, Angeles is a real bargain!

As a word of advise, I noticed that the places getting raid are those who accept the girls ages as low as 18. Places not getting raided have a policy where the min. Girl's age need to be 20 years old.

Angeles City is nice, but is third world. Just use your common sense.

Be 2-300 fine. Yeah, any bar not on walking street (just full full Chinese group tours and Indian families these days) - don't see the attraction of that place at all. Also all bars on Soi 6 - fine / room / the bar's cut (call it what you will) is be 2-300.

In soi6 is 300/350 baht. I never found one bar have 200 BF in soi6! Also in soi6 this is the price for use the room upstair. If you want have a ST in your hotel room many bar will ask you for a more expensive BF for take away.

200 baht BF in Pattaya's bars I found only in a few bars in the darkside area. I'm curious to know which bar in Pattaya City have 200 baht BF. Usually 200 baht is the price for 1 HR oil massage in a small massage shops around soi buakhao, soi honey and soi chaiyapoon but I don't know if this shops have a same price for outcall massage in your room.
For ST and LT price it all depends where you pick up the girl...

And also be aware that a lot of girls have friends and relatives working all around Fields, as bar girl, waitress, door man, mamasan, hotel maid, hotel security guard, etc. etc. When you've been walking around for a couple of days or weeks they all know you and talk about you. Angeles may be a big city but the bar scene is very small.

This is an extreme simplification and for guys who haven't been there its misleading. The turnover in angeles is tremendous. If you are after an hardened prostitute experience there may be some connection between bars. She will have relatives everywhere only if she is pampangan and the vast majortiy are not most are visayan.

My #1 advice is to ask what's your province? And how long have you been in angeles? If the answer is pampangan the local people then stay away by all means. Also if they have been there for 6 months to year or more then you will get a less GFE.

If you actually live there you may get a reputation of course. But if you swoop in for a couple of days or even weeks like you say you won't make an impression unless you are wearing an Elvis costume. They have an uncanny ability to remember you within individual bars even months later but its not like some coconut telegraph between bars.

I've been dropping in for 10+ years for a few days to a week multiple times a year and I have zero Fields reputation. The number of bars has exploded in recent years. When was the last time you were there? Your advice seems very outdated or the jaded view of an expat living there at best.

I'd say it's probably fair to compare Ptya go-gos to spotlight dancers in AC.

It seems to me you are comparing Pattaya beer bar girls to AC go-go girls and that is not a fair comparison. AC doesn't have much beer bars. I think you can only qualify Perimeter bars as beer bars. The bars on Fields are all go-go bars.

By the way: the prices you quote for Pattaya bar girls are way too low. When was the last time you were there?

Angeles may be a big city but the bar scene is very small.

I refer to the point Mogwai made about the bar scene in Angeles being quite tightly connected. It works all ways. The girls who did a bit of moonlighting may have got found out and possibly dealt with in an exemplary manner that now discourages the others from doing the same.

Cost of bar girl in Ptya. Bar fine is be 2-300, ST. Be 800-1,000, LT 1,000-1,500 (admittedly go-go girls are more expensive, but I am not trying to claim that go-go girls are cheaper.).

So in Ptya ST is US $ 30-40, plus whatever tip and drinks you want to buy.

LT is US $ 35-50, plus your expenses for night out.

So when you compare like with like, Ptya is much cheaper for bar girls than in AC.
