Posts: 3Arriving Bangkok 6AM - Ideas appreciated
Hi,
I am arriving BKK at 6AM, and will not be able to check-in until about noon. I was wondering if you had any ideas on what I could do until then? Don't want to waste precious time, but not sure what action is available at this time in the AM. Any tips greatly appreciated.

Will be in BKK on Monday 26th. Join me for a beer at the Bush Garden Bar above Thermae at 7 pm. Anybody else want to join, the first drink is on me.

Posts: 1584Philo - humidity plays a big part in perception of temperature. 95F (35C) in the desert is a lot different from 87F (28C) in the tropics (been to both). I actually like 95F desert heat better (no humidity - stay dry)
April is the "warm month" in muang Thai (averaging 92F or so with 100F not all that uncommon)
Myself, I go in April (or May) and September (or October) - great weather - might be a bit "wet" though. Never tried songkran - didn't want to endure constant baths

Though franky If I were you Desi, I would dedicate a couple days to "sampling" before I settled on one if it's you first time. The diifference between a Thai P4P and most Westerners is so big you should adjust your frame of reference. Also, if you are talking about taking a girl over a week, your per day rate should down unless she is one of those beauties who gets picked every night.

Posts: 549Just wanted to say a quick "Merry Christmas" to all the bro's out there, its been one of those years in Thailand, let's see what next year brings, Festive greetings to all.
For late night partiers, Sin bar on soi 4 was alive and kicking when i left at 3am on Friday night, plenty of tasty looking FL's, unfortunately several groups of pig ugly western woman too, the roof top garden is nice in the cooler weather !
A friend and i were also in Toy bar on cowboy on Friday night, this place can usually get out of hand if you've had a few too many and the bar tab stacks up quick, well we were surrounded by girls, there was a lot of tequilla flying everywhere, i was getting a lovely HJ from 3 topless and pantyless BG's, after being satisfied and seeing my mate had too i called for the tab, i noticed a hell of a lot of tickets in the tub and thought "shit, wasn't watching" The bill came back and was just under 900 baht for both of us. Don;t know if they added it up wrong or what, but considering our states, and the easiness to obtain a LD from us, i was very pleasantly shocked ! Gave 100B to each of the HJ girls for their services.

1. It is COLD (10oC in the morning in Chiang Rai) in the north.
2. It is only chilly in the morning in BKK.
3. BKK is full of tourists who think the day time temperature in BKK is summer temperature (which it is on good days in Europe and Canada).
4. Please all tourists - come now - the weather is temperate in BKK - about 20oC daytime in the north - and closer to 30oC in Phuket.
My (may be it drowned in Gin Tonics) point was that I would like all tourists to come in the high season - that way I can have BKK for myself after songkhran when the cosy (Fahrenheit 100+) temperatures come along. The shorts crowd will then be sweating and dehydrating and die with a parking lot girl (sic ...) in a room in Nana Hotel.
I - on the other hand - will emerge from my hibernation, and start to feel alive again...
The 'heat' from posts is not 'same same' the relative coldness of Thai cold season temperatures - which really are higher than summer temperatures in many (most?) farang countries. (This paragraph - on second reading - I don't understand myself).
One mans coldness is another mans heat. And the first mans temperated temperatures is the second mans heatwave. (This one I like).
Whatever - I don't give a shit. Ask me again when I wake up after songkhran ...

Friends,
Please accept my sincere apologies for wasting your time and resources of this wonderful board by asking a silly question. I was desperate to make some travel plans for the Winter break and am still trying to decide between London, Singapore, and Bangkok.
I was looking for some quick answers and was lazy to not search for them myself.
I hope you all forgive me on this one. Happy Mongering and Happy Holidays!

The post that sparked this thread was a copy+paste by me of an article about the COLD!
I then pointed out that coming to Thailand NOW wouldn't be smart if you were looking for some warm weather.
You then said: 'Totally disagree'
Now you don't?
Remember: Alcohol just not just kill your liver!

I didn't know about that. Hey DesiM, Don't take me too seriously (as in I'm not very friggin' angry), but there's been an awful lot of guys popping up lately with one post only that have been asking silly and easily answered question if they'd just RTFF.
I'm beginning to suspect that these guys are actually senior members under a different name. I've seen this sort of thing in chat rooms and on instant messengers and well... all over the Internet.
Duni!
I'm sorry man. I've been awfully busy managing risk lately. I'm in the middle of some very large trades involving Pfizer and Oracle. I've been buying and selling options all around these stocks (as well as the stock itself), and today I'm planning on unwinding all this stuff.
I've made some money and that is good. But I've neglected to check on the things that I told you I would and that is bad. I apologize again man. It's just that the Pfizer stock started moving big last week and I could not resist getting involved in the trade.
I'll write you later about it. The market opens in three minutes.

What hurts me the most is that by his moniker, Desimonger is most likely of South Asian descent. And he had to post his first message like that.
Anyway, do you read your PMs.
