Where the fuck did Desimonger learn about posting on Internet forums? Is the internet so old that the basic rules of online etiquette have been forgotten, or has the original Internet generation failed (because of chat room addiction) to pass on the sacred traditions of etiquette to the next generation? I don't know the answer to that question. All I know is that the youngsters of today seem to be fucked-up beyond repair.

As other very senior members have chimed-in, you might want to consider RTFF for most of the info you seek.

As a semi-regular resident of Bangkok (based in BKK, but travel extensively and often throughout Asia and even Europe for work), I would concur with most of what's already been said. Most regular women will not see the value to them in hanging 24/7 with a farang just for 10 days - hell, it'd probably take you half that time atleast to find a regular willing to spend the night with you!

Contrary to popular belief, the general Thai populace is pretty conservative: most regular Thai women are not waiting for you to show up to bring them a new perspective on life. (Unlike many places in the Philippines, where I am this week.)

RTFF, check out the well-known places and take your pick. If you find a good one, keep her for a night and a day see how it goes. Personally, it's an extremely rare woman (regardless of culture or country) that keeps me captivated for more than a night and the following day.

I suggest you pay particular attention to Traveler's posts: I've begun following his methodology, in all the countries I visit, and am a happier monger for it.

Fortunately, there are two kinds of pharmacies in Thailand. The real official pharmacy and the, what you would probably call, drugstore kind.
These little drugstores are all over the place. The folks behind the counters won't be wearing white coats like the real pharmacy people do. But they will often have generic viagra for sale. They will pull it from under the counter or fetch it from a back room.
And if they don't sell it, they will probably point out that you have to see a doctor for a prescription, so there's no danger is asking!
It's not 'black market on the street', it's more like 'grey market in the drugstore'.

You arrive at 11am, you will probably be looking for a taxi by 11:30, dump your bags in the airport storage place, go to the 2nd floor of the airport (departures) and get a nice shiny new taxi, with metre to take you to Sukhumvit area. You will be there by 12:30 at the very latest, your flight leaves at 6pm, its a shit time to be travelling in Bangkok, i would reccomend leaving Sukhumvit at 3:30, you'll probably be at the airport within an hour, leave after 4pm and it could be a lot longer.
So 3 hours, where should you go, if you have the budget, go to Eden, soi 7/1 you'll get exactly what you need, guaranteed, no hassles or goto soi 7 beergarden and roll the dice. Another option for me would be Aviva massage on a small soi off soi 8, 800 baht for 2 hour oil massage, plus tip (HJ 500, BJ 1000, FS 1500) but i reckon Eden would be best.

Has anyone read the book 'Bangkok Inside Out.' ?

A few weeks ago the co-author left Thailand after receiving death threats apparently because of a photo of a half naked bar girl in the book - her face was not blocked out. A high ranking Thai official demaded that any remaining copies be removed from bookshelves in stores.

Its a little strange to say the least, as the book was released a year ago, and they only noticed it now ? I am assuming that offence was taken due to the photo of the half-naked bar girl. And the death threats ???

I guess that the writer will not be going back to LOS anytime soon. Not so friendly in LOS.

"Cold snap blamed for death of man in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai (TNA) - Cold weather is sweeping across Thailand's Northern and Northeastern regions, and in Chiang Mai, one man who apparently couldn't cope with the cold has died.

Security guard Shinawatra Srihome, 47, was found dead at his post in a computer store on Huaikaew Road this morning. Police said it appeared night-long winds and temperatures in the teens triggered an attack of asthma, his long-term illness. Authorities at Maharaj Nakhon Chiang Mai Hospital will conduct an autopsy.

Low temperatures affected residents in other areas, particularly in the higher regions, where temperatures have plunged below 10C overnight. In Mae Jam district, over 1,000 ethnic minority families are suffering from the unusually cold weather and a lack of enough blankets and warm clothing.

According to the weather forecast, temperatures in the north will drop by 3 degrees Celsius until Dec 19. Temperatures are now relatively constant at 13.2 degrees, but the lowest temperature was 5 degrees at Doi Inthanon, the country's highest peak.

Meanwhile, temperatures in the Northeast are predicted to fall 2-6 degrees to average 15-20 degrees overnight,.

Authorities in Yasothon province report that some 50,000 villagers in several districts have inadequate clothing or blankets. Provincial authoritries and agencies concerned provided assistance for needy people.

Meanwhile, many local residents in Ubon Ratchathani are suffering cold-weather related illnesses. The provincial public health office reported that nearly 1,000 patients per day, mainly children and the elderly, are visiingt hospitals for treatment of weather-related respiratory complaints."

Hi guys,

This is a repeat request because I cannot find the original request posted anyplace. I will be at the BKK airport for a six hour layover. Is that enough time to get fs someplace decent? If so, where -- (I remember a post about a massage place in the airport but it didn't say anything about fs) or near the airport, or do I have to go into the city. If I go into the city How long will it take - I would probably catch a taxi around noon and have to be back at the airport by 3:45 PM - so do even have enough time to go into the city. If I do what will be open at around 12:30 - 1:00 PM.

There are a lot of questions and I do read the forum but I haven't found any info that addresses these specific questions.

I would really appreciate any help any of you might be able to offer.
