I discovered napping in my 20s. I good nap is better than bad sex.

The management at the times swore up and down it couldn't be their employees. However, they have added safes to some rooms, and I think you can get one to put in your room, too.
Ian, the Israli local guy also had money missing from the Maria Luisa, and it was in the same manner mine was. That is, they would take small amounts from larger amounts so it was hard to figure out.

also, forgot to add. They had opened a disco on the street in front of the Maria Luisa, making escaping noise damn near impossible. At night the disco..in the morning the jackhammers. Thank god I don't sleep well anyway, and I usually was physically exhausted and from walking all day, partying, having sex and fallilng asleep about 4am. I tried to make up for it by napping in the afternoon. (its a 40s thing ifyou young guys don't get it).

Cold and noisy as hell. IF you stay there, try to get a room in the back. However, in January there were guys with jackhammers behind the building working on a building.

I think the heater Idea is good. One could probably pick one up relatively cheap somewhere near there.

Not that it would make any difference as far as the temperature, but I do not know why they always leave the windows open after they clean the rooms everyday.

    Doc:

The Las Americas Residencial suites can be excellent value reserved in advance through the web site http://www.go2peru.com ( BTW - the one I am talking about is on Calle Bellavista 415, Miraflores, they have several properties in Miraflores). While the hotel staff expects gentlemanly behavior as the clientele are "regular" people there were no additional guest fees, they clearly know the drill and in many ways they are very accommodating. Personally I always book double occupancy and tell them my girlfriend will be arriving later or fill in the second form with my name as well. Reduces friction! BTW - the trick is to try and get a room at the back of the hotel as some people find the front a little noisy.

I have no reports about PD Bosque.

    Suerte!

    Besitos,

Just got back from Lima and stayed at Las Americas Residenciales in Miraflores. About a block away from a really neat little street with loads of restaurants and bars. Exit out the other end and you are at Parque Kennedy. Nice hotel, good location, great beds. Highly recommended.

Orbitz $200 off 5 day stay

I've posted this in some of the other countries that I visit, to give a heads up about a good deal on Orbitz right now. You get $200 off a 5 night stay, Code# 200INTL or $75 off a 3 night stay Code# 75INTL, plus the fees/taxes.

The Maria Angola is available, and it's had decent reviews on this forum. Cost for 5 nights, after the coupon is applied is about $11 a night, and includes some sort of breakfast.

I think you can book multiple 5 day stays and use the discount again. This is a prepaid rate, but for $25 you can refund it before you arrive.

The hotel needs to be at least $40 a night for the $200 discount, or $25 for the $75 discount. Not all hotels participate. If you find you're just under $40, you can try adding a another occupant to the room to increase the price enough.

Plaza del Bosque v. Las Americas Hotel

First time in Peru, and I found both these hotels looking pretty good. Can anyone give me any info on them? Preference? Thanks!

    Lima in September

It's a long time since I've been in Lima

What is the weather like in September

Still awaiting hotel details from my aide de camp but I am sure we are in Miraflores - where are the best places to see the local flaura and fauna.
