we want to stay in san isidro so we don't have to spend more time than necessary going to and from work.

the most important things are that the place should be girl friendly and they must have in-room high speed internet. and the room/suite should have a kitchenette.

our local representative want to put us up at daniel's apart hotel. is that ok, do you think? on the internet i can find nearby apart hotels which seem better. i think our company can accept a daily rate of usd 150.

some of the hotels i've found on the internet are: basadre suites, suites del bosque, conquistadores suites, peru star apartments, suites antique apart hotel.

can any of these hotels be recommended? or perhaps som other hotel in the san isidro area?
i only have experience with peru star (stayed there 5 years ago when i was first in town) and i thought it was great. artisttyp also stayed there last year and i think he enjoyed it as well. if your combined budget for four guys is $600.00 a day you guys can each get a room (suite) at one of the top hotels in san isidro. melia lima is the closest to the airport.

i would also look into apartment rentals as you could get a decent rate (3 month rental) on a couple of furnished apartments.

pm me if you have any questions!

Used to be great until the Las Americas group was sold. Half the price and GF.

There is new ownership and the prices for rooms have risen significantly, and the chica fee is $50. No joke. I asked twice and then asked again. $50. No discount or waiver when the room occupant is paying almost $4000 a month, not after I fluttered my eyelashes, nothing. An offer of $10 on the side was politely rebuffed.

They also don't have fresh towel service after 11pm, which at the new prices is pretty much unacceptable.

It's clear the owner doesn't want our money so feel free to support other nearby hotels and the apartment owners who share our love of Peruana poon.

    Radisson Decapolis

For the guy´s that normally stay at the Las Americas (Bellavista or Larco) there is a great new 4 *hotel that opened up directly across the street from Lima Busy´s Penthouse! They have rates starting as low as 90 dollars and the views and location is hard to beat! Google for their website. Also they have a rooftop pool with the same view as my ¨Bachelor Pad¨.

    Las Palmas

I thought I would share some thoughts on Hotel Las Palmas since it is one of the more popular hotels on this website.

    The good:

    1) Cost is about $30 which is a bargain in any major city
    2) The staff, especially the female night clerk, is very nice and helpful
    3) Location is excellent. One minute walk to Pizza Alley and Park Kennedy
    4) the hotel is girl friendly

    The bad:
    1) The rooms are very basic, no frills which you would expect for $30. For me they were a little too worn and too plain.
    2) No inroom safe. There is a safe at the front desk and its available 24 hours. There is a slight cost, maybe S9, I can't remember exactly
    3) I didn't think the free breakfast looked too appetizing

Summary: For USD$30, you can't expect much. LP is a decent hotel for the money. I usually want a place with nicer rooms than the LP. I'll try Maria Luisa next time.

    Taxi from Airport

after you leave out of customs and come to the international arrivals area where everyone is waiting for their peeps, turn to your right and go outside through the first door that you see. cross over the first driveway and onto the median. in the second driveway you will see taxis leaving who have already dropped people off. just flag one down and ask how much to go to miraflores (in spanish of course). do not pay more than 25 soles.
