Las Américas are a Peruvian chain of hotels. It means they do not constitute a likely El Quaeda target and their prices are less likely to get pushed up by the international business traveller. Service is efficient but extremely discreet. There's nothing I hate more than obtrusive service. At Apart Hotel Las Américas, you could hang up the "no molestar" sign outside your door and die in your room, you would be bones before they found you.

This is a five star place that costs about $200 per night as it's rack rate.
I was there for 32 nights from mid August to mid September. I arrived at 2 AM and I did not book in advance. I just went to the place and negotiated this rate. I paid $54 per night including all taxes and breakfast. Nothing in my opinion can compare to this deal anywhere else in Lima.

From looking at the web sites Las Palmas looks to be an excellent deal.
One thing that usually bothers me with economy hotels, they have very hard beds. I see where LP advertises orthopedic beds. I'm hoping that means semi firm.
I'll find out
