I guess there are a few small options in San Andres. Bbrocs posted something similar from a few years ago and I didn't even notice. I could not imagine being there without a girl or family and that was all that I saw there anyway. If you are a scuba diver that makes sense. I did the helmet dive which was very cool. About 25 feet underwater. Lots of colorful fish.

I will bet that your time and effort won't lead you to much on the girl front. Local girls are dark skinned and not pretty. You will see some smoking hot chicks in San Andres. Unfortunately, they will be there with their husbands or family. I wish you luck if you poke your nose around.

I also want to mention that the internet is terrible. It is an island problem and not related to any individual hotel. The internet is too slow to run a youtube music video. Waiting for the download doesn't help as there are minor interruptions in the signal which screw up the download. It is serviceable to get online and do a few things though.

i'm going to medellin to monger and san andres to dive and surf, just wanted to make sure i didn't miss out on any action. i thought about taking my main lady in medellin, but she doesn't like [CodeWord118] (no pun intended) so i looked at it as a waste.

i visited a few years ago. there is a casa a few minutes from the main town. cannot remember the name but it is a small island and everyone knows the locale. there were many attractive girls there. i arranged time with a girl for the evening and following day. overall, very nice gfe. she was from mde and quite nice and accommodating. it appeared that many of the girls had friends who visited them where they had established a prior relationship. most were from mde or the interior.

if this place has closed, i can say that it would very be unlikely you would find any non-pros hanging around. it is a very dull place with very few decent beaches. one side of the island is virtually all lava and rock.

san andres is not a mongering location. i traveled there two months ago with my colombian girlfriend for 4 days and i would recommend san andres to those of you who are looking to travel with colombian women. there are beautiful beaches, unlike cartagena, and lots of fun things to do. all of the tourists that i saw there were families and couples.

Curious as to why you chose to go to San Andres? I most certainly would not go there for mongering even though there are a few girls around.

I'm going to MDE as well (I've been a few times). I love to dive and I found a cheap flight from MDE so I figured I would head over to S. A. For a quick 3 day dive trip.

How far out of town is Coco Plum? Everyone says its great, but some reports say its inconvient. I"m not being a smart alec, but what do you mean by everythings a rip off? Thanks for your advice!

I don't think coco plum is that bad out of way. There are a couple places downtown by the trade zone and that free beach nice to. Plus had lively drinking there 7 nights a week. Even pharmacy have tables outside. But for coco plum it takes me around 13 minutes to downtown. So maybe shop some of the apartments that have sprung up downtown or there is a azul (something azul) , big blue hotel that was busy.

What I mean by everything is a rip off. San andres suffers from island high prices, but better then other islands. If you go real local on food you can do alright. I found disco in hotel on top floor to have cheaper prices on bottles of guado, cheaper then Medellin. But food at restaurants all pretty high, la rigatta my favorite. All in all I love San andres. Wishing for better wifi, to get work done.

I was hopeing to get some feedback on which would be better to rent, a motorbike or a golf cart. I have already ruled out using a taxi if at all possible. Also is the snorkel trip from the aquarium still available?

Golf carts were quoted to me at 35 / day including gas. Dude I didn't like driving around there. Cabs were my way. Cheap I didn't ask them for anything special. Yes aquarium snorkeling alive and well daily around 2pm. Go in office around 1pm to reserve cost around 36 dollars 2 hours on boat, beers, hit aquarium island and two other spots.

From what I understand... if you book any hotel from the Demacaron chain (some are more expensive than others), you can go visit and eat (with reservation) at any of their other hotels.

I have been doing much research ie traveladvisor. Com.

From what I gathered (after reading 50+ reviews) the Decameron is NOT good! Example: Up to $360. 00 per couple, but the service is bad, watered down drinks, need to make reservation at least 24 hours in advance to have dinner at their other properties.

I'm going to be staying at a "Private" Hotel, I will be there next week and WILL report back here with my experience.
